    I saw the thumbnail in this video and looks like the guy inside the car got arrested. However when watching the video and how 90 year old Jacob Domi in this current year 2024 owns his Peugeot 404 since 1975, this 49 year period is as long as I'm alive! God Bless You Jacob and hope you have many successful years with your Green Peugeot 404! 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

    The 404 sedan was my first car as a teenager in South Africa. Rusted out '71 model with a great running engine. I spent the summer working to have enough money to have a guy remove the rust and repaint it. I think I paid $200 equivalent for it in 1976.

    My dad bought a second hand Peugeot 404 Familiale (with third seat row) used by the Amersfoort police late 60's, so we went with 2 adults and 4 children on holidays with a front to back long cargo rack mounted on the roof filled with trunks and a huge bungalow tent. In the Alps on the Brenner Pass we had frequent stops because the engine started boiling, so long waits for the steaming to stop and add snow water ... unforgettable days. After that one the income went up and he changed to several new consecutive 504 Familiales over the years, always fitted with one optional extra, an in his eyes and truly indispensable interval knob for the front wiper and a wiper on the back window, invariably and rightfully so complaining that the previous model was sturdier build.

      I had the 404 and my dad had a 504 which he bought new when we lived in SA. Mine would boil over on longer trips too.

    The 404 is a LEGEND, this car replaced the camel fro travelling through the desert and this 'Break"(estate) probably first lead a hard life in Europe before being exported to Africa.
    This car established the legend of Pigot' in Africa together with the 504. And the break is such a strong workhorse and easy to repair. Bon chance to Mr Jacob Domi may God bless him

    Excellent. I had a 1970 404 wagon.Mine was maroon, 4-speed on the column. Back seat wasn't split, just a fold-down bench. The rear cargo deck is wood with rubber strips and had a cavernous capacity. The stock seats were incredibly comfortable. Gigantic front disc brakes.

    I hope his family and his future grandchildren keep this car to appropriate of their grandfather. Because this man here worked so hard and brought this car and never sold it only to treat this car as part of his family and if isn’t for this car they he wouldn’t been nothing without that car. So show some respect for this owner and his car.🚗

    Maintenance! Go and tell the government o, all parties! Too much waste of money in GH due to lack of maintenance. His calculation is off though. Three thousand cedis in 1975 is not equivalent to 3,000ghc in 2024. You will have to factor in inflation, redenomination and all. It won't be ice water money!

    • @major1891
      @major1891 2 месяца назад

      He said 30 pesewas in today's terms. Watch again

    • @gh_blaqsoap2846
      @gh_blaqsoap2846 2 месяца назад

      @@major1891 Oh, that's why he said it can only buy ice water. But the equivalency math is incorrect. Based on (Treasury Reporting Rates Of Exchange As Of March 31, 1975)) document on_line, the exchange rate for the cedi to the US$ was 1.138 cedis (as of March 1975). So if we use the US$ rate, he purchased the car at around 3K US$...(then change the 3K US$ to cedis for today's equivalent).

    Époque où la France rayonnait en Afrique, dans sa totalité et pas simplement en Afrique francophone ! Politiquement et commercialement ! Maintenant a cause de Macron on s est disputé avec la terre entière ! On notera la transformation : levier de vitesses au plancher alors que toutes les 404 avaient des leviers au volant.
