Paul I did this swap on my 68 c10 . I designed a shifter adaptor set up that operates with the original 4l60e shift cable from the donor vehicle. It is sweet. If you or any of your subscribes would like to give it a try let me know. Have enjoyed all your videos on your project. Good luck on you build.
I'm actively swapping the same combo into my 70 stepside c10! I've only just got the donor powertrain out and half prepped, about to start pulling the c10's heart out and swap away!
Thanks for posting these videos. You're covering alot of the stuff I'll be doing on my truck soon. I'd like to see you ditch the music and talk about what you're doing more. But that's just me.
Hi, I am following your steps about the build, I have my 71 shorted already, I am going to use a 350 engine with a 700R4 transmission ( not yet enough budget for a LS Swap), is it OK to use a one piece drive shaft? , will that clear the original crossmember without issues? if yes, what shaft did you choose? thank you for your help!!
@paulk_c10 Not sure if you still read your comments. I'm building a c10 myself and just installed my transmission crossmember. I see your motor and trans have a severe tilt backwards. Did you do anything to correct that? Or did you leave it? I'm having the same issue. I believe it's supposed to be 3 degrees?
What motor mounts did you use I have a 5.3 that I want to put in my 70 gmc I'm just gonna keep the th350 for now, was told it will bolt right up with a spacer. Just not sure witch motor mounts to buy but I do want them to be adjustable as hell
Hey paul,What size shaft is that or did you had to send your old one to get cut to propper size ?,im doing the same exact setup 5.3 4L60e also from longbed to shortbed as well.
It’s the stock driveshaft cut down 12” for the original motor and trans. Get your motor and trans in place and take measurements. The drive shaft shop cut, welded, balanced, painted and put in new u-joints for around $90
Paul please I've been up and down internet trying to figure out which throttle body I need. Im doing an ls swap as well 2005 5.3l with the stock 4l60e transmission. Please help me find out which throttle body I need
Could you tell me where you got that motor and transmission?? By the way good job I love your videos you should have more followers very good job and well explained 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great work. Looks good, your work if very clean 👌👌. I have been watching your videos and don’t recall seeing if you changed your oil pan. Wondering if you had enough clearance with does motor mounts and adjustable plates Thanks and keep up the good work man 👍👍

Dude how's this channel not bigger. Great job with the ls swap. That's next on my to do list 👍
Arty's Motorsports it is he just really started posting regularly
You might want to flip the upper transmission crossmember bolts because when you get the cab on you cannot get them out.
Great video. 👍 I love my c10 keep up the great work.
very nice trucks i just got my 1978 c10 today its got a ls4 in it
I was watching you line up your 4l80 in the middle of the frame, isn’t the diff a little offset?
Hell yeah man
Doing a 6.0 ls swap on mine, love watching your videos. they definitely helped me on my build

Hi! Question? Nice build. Did you change your oil pan? I’m getting ready to do my 72 c10. My donor is a 2003 5.3 truck motor. Thanks
Nice Bro will be a nice daliy driver.
what shocks are you running? currently lowered 5.5/5 and looking for some good upgrades from the junk that's on it now.
Drop shocks from LMC. Nothing too crazy right now.
Is the frim is original? Amd also how much does it cost to make a remolation like that one
@paulk_c10 Not sure if you still read your comments. I'm building a c10 myself and just installed my transmission crossmember.

I'm having the same issue.
I believe it's supposed to be 3 degrees?
Bruh I’m runnin into the same question you have any answers for this?
How did you go about the wiring for the engine?
I haven’t wired it yet. But I have a PSI conversions ecu and wiring harness
I just was wondering how much money you have put in it since you started your truck?
If I respond, then my wife will know! Haha
paulk_c10 😆😆😆 wives have no sense of humor.

Love the build. What fuel tank and pump are you using? I'm doing the same swap in my 71.
Fuel tank is CPP aluminum 20 gallon with a Walbro 255 pump
it must be real nice to install engine and trans with the body off it dont get no better than that..
Yea it’s pretty easy haha
Cool build
would you have part # for engine mounts and trans mount thanks
Both are available at Performance Online
@@paulkc10 thanks
Which means you use the same gearbox that came with the Motor?
What headers did you go with? Thanks for your time.
Speed Engineering
How'd you get the trans to work? I have a 4l65e awd that doesn't want to engage into any gear.
Did you center the transmission output shaft?
Yep
What solid motor mount did you use
What header did you use?? I've been looking for a set
Speed Engineering. I put a link in the description!
paulk_c10 @@ ur truck is running yet??? Did u ever used the stock a/c compressor,?
Great powertrain
I know it's a old video but did you have to get a custom drive shaft made or the stock one fit? Going to be doing the same with mine
I just had the stock one cut down
Paul please I've been up and down internet trying to figure out which throttle body I need. Im doing an ls swap as well 2005 5.3l with the stock 4l60e transmission. Please help me find out which throttle body I need
This is for my 70 as well and ant seem to figure out which cable driven throttle body I need
Where did you go your motor mounts
For the swap
Slider mounts on the block are from dirty dingo. Perches are from performance online
What kind of harness are you doing to from the old truck to new motor and trans? Is there anything special?
PSI Conversion
Is that an Early (Pre 98) 4L60E or Late (98-05) Model 4L60ESame drivetrain project on c1500. Didn't know if you used a spacer kit"
Late

What driveshaft are you using??

Driveshaft is the stock C10 driveshaft. Headers are Speed Engineering long tubes
Is that the original oil pan? Doing the same swap and wondering if the truck oil pan has clearance issues.
No it’s a conversion pan
www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-19212593

What throttle cable did you use?
This is a great channel, Nice Work! What headers did you use?
Thanks man. They are speed engineering

thats the biggest engine jack ive seen yet and it shows, wont fit underneath.
Should have used TRUCK mirrors. Not car mirrors..
What motor mounts are you using? Also what is your front suspension? Looks stock on lower and looks like qa1 uppers.
Motor mounts are dirty dingo sliders with POL tubular perches. Suspension is stock lowers and CPP uppers with drop spindles and drop springs
