Worse people walk around making crap up about what Jesus was and said so their churches can make money and have power over people. The one thing I can certainly point to that confirms the legitimacy of the Bible is the fact that several archaeological digs have found lost civilizations due solely to the locations being described in the Bible. So unless the many writers who composed scripture all decided to have some of it be true and the rest to be a fairy tale As in we’re going to write in detail about a city only for it to be lost to time to get dug up thousands of years later to fool those pesky Christians. Exactly. This is what I try to explain to my friends. The crucifix is the most import of the symbols not simply because Jesus died in it, but because of the excruciating torture he CHOSE to LIVE through in the cross because of the pure love he had for us humans, the very humans who did it to him, plotted it to him, and watched it been done to him with glee. Please remember that the tomb Jesus was placed in after his crucifixion, had a stone blocking the entrance and Roman guards standing there to prevent anyone from entering. Upon examination of the tomb after three days, Jesus was no longer inside the tomb, but resurrected by the Heavenly Father. Upon arrival at the place of his disciples, he said he was hungry and they gave him fish. These events are so specific and detailed, I do not doubt its record. Jesus died for our redemption, and took away the sins of the world. He was seen ascending to Heaven after forty days. There are millions of people around the world an encounter with Jesus Christ in this day and age. There are near death experiences, there are dreams which are common in the Muslim world. I could fill every NFL stadium in every city in the country who had divine encounters with Jesus. There are divine healings happening every day. In our church we had a 30 year old lady who had stage 4 cancer no hope medically she was in palliative care and she said she was drained and ready to die and she cried out to the Lord, heal me or take me home and suddenly she felt a warm healing presence coming over her, she regained all her strength and got up and told the nurses she was healed. The doctors came and were perplexed, ran tests and no trace of cancer. I am sure every church has members who had amazing experiences.
I am a witness. I died in a car accident, my spirit went up to heaven, passed through gates, met Jesus, He showed me a beautiful “love moments” life review, etc. before paramedics brought me back to life. Jesus is REAL. He desires us as spirit beings to “image Him” (to represent Him here on earth). It is paramount to think like Jesus, to follow His ways and counsel. Faulty conclusions are what steer people off-course. All conclusions must be what Jesus would conclude.

The people of that time in that area were as literate if not more so than we are. Jewish men had to be able to read Torah by the time they were 12. Not oral yet written. And the Greeks and Romans of that era were extremely literate.
Why is no one mentioning the Roman historian Josephus and his account of Christ life and crucifixion and resurrection? Amazing. Also, go look up RON Wyatt, and his discoveries around the ark of the covenant in Jerusalem. That will blow your mind.
The Romans were masters at their various arts. They new exactly how far they could torture you before you succumb to injury and pain. Exactly where one could be cut, deep, in various areas of the body without the victim bleeding out....they wouldn't fumble the ball on a execution. They speared Jesus to confirm and enaure if He really was dead. The release of blood and water is an actual medical condition that happens to a dead body. Wes Huff talks about it in this same podcast.
Very good discussion! Thought provoking! About Jesus! But I have a comment about Joe Rogan here. There's a line from the movie Pulp Fiction in which John Travolta's character is asked, when you are in a conversation, "Do you listen, or do you wait to talk?". Travolta's character responded that he hates to admit it but he waits to talk. Joe Rogan, a key strength of his, is that he truly listens! And asks good questions, and follow up questions, and follow ups to those. But first and foremost, he listens. And as a result, so do we, his audience!

@@annme7638 Actually, there is definitive evidence the shroud is a fake . Actual shroud “blood” samples have been shown, by internationally known forensic serologists (blood experts), to fail all of the microscopical, chemical, biological, and instrumental tests for blood. In 1988, radiocarbon testing by three laboratories agreed that the cloth dated to ca. 1260-1390-the time of the reported confession. This would not be surprising to the church officials who first encountered this “relic.” In 1389, the image was denounced as a fraud by Bishop Pierre D'Arcis in a letter to the Avignon Antipope Clement VII, mentioning that the image had previously been denounced by his predecessor Henri de Poitiers.
So Jesus was walking around teaching people for fourty days after the resurrection, and the Romans and the soldiers who were part of the crucification and they didn't think that was kinda weird or piss them off
I mean, they started killing christians and the apostles as well as disciples had to go into hiding… so I’d say they were pretty pissed. As far as weird, the Roman soldiers who watched his tomb (Longinus and his group) found it weird. There is also a non biblical work by Thallus a Greek historian who based on written fragments, mentioned a solar eclipse around the time of Jesus death. Quite a few non biblical Roman historians mentioned him, but mostly with skepticism. It’s important to know that the New Testament is a collection of scrolls from various sources gathered from Jews, Greeks and Romans. So in a way the word “Bible” is used to describe a collection of writings from various sources gathered. To say non biblical, simply means not put into the Bible. But to say the Bible is a single source rather than many sources put into one is also untrue. The Roman Catholic Church has many scrolls and collections of records in their library. The rabbit hole is deep with Christianity.
Naah it was business as usual... Since all the tombs of all the saints opened in Jerusalem and they walked about the romans soldiers were quite busy with all them living dead. It was so common place that no one even bothered to write it down. And of course one crucified dude who came back was no big deal. I mean the sentence had been carried out so he had paid his debt to society and the authorities had nothing further on him.

I said to myself that if these people are right, I am getting saved,so I can be with my child. After move, I go up front to get save. The minister told me to say Jesus forgive me of my sins I am a sinner and I will live for you ,come into me holy spirit, when I when to say these words I couldn't speak English and I went under the power of God ,that was a profound moment in my life,I couldn't believe Jesus did this for me he made himself so real.I left knowing there was a God!
There is a ton of historical evidence that Jesus did exist. I urge the sceptics to look into biblical archeology as well as historical evidence of Jesus. At the end of the day you cannot prove that he rose from the dead. If you could, everyone would believe. At the end of the day it is a CHOICE to believe! I do believe. I believe there was once a perfect man that walked the face of the earth. ONLY one and his name was Jesus. The choice is yours. It's free and so simple that it makes perfect sense. I also want to comment on the Shroud of Terran. When they tested the material used many years ago. The area of the cloth they tested was a repair that had previously been done. Yes the Shroud has had small repairs over the years but the majority of the cloth is original. New carbon testing of an area of the cloth that is original dates back to the time of Jesus' death. I believe the Shroud is ABOSOLUTLEY real and the fact that modern science still cannot explain how the images on the cloth were made is all the proof I need. I mean think about it.
The problem is all the evidence in the World can not convince a hardened Athiest to believe in God or the Bible as they mock and hate any notion that Jesus and Crucifiction is true.

To be fair we don't have 400 different accounts of people who claim they saw Jesus alive again. What we really have is Paul who was not at the event who writes the story and he is taking the word of someone or some people that claim they saw Jesus appear to 400 people. We don't know who precisely that person or people were that told Paul the story. We also don't know what event this was or why 400 people were gathering in the first place.
Paul does not say that the 400 people were gathered somewhere, Paul says Jesus appeared to over 400 people the majority of whom were alive at the writing of the epistle. From the descriptions of the Gospels, Jesus was around after his resurrection for forty days. And in those forty days, he kept appearing to his followers in various places in different ways. Like those on the road to emmaus, the women at the tomb, the disciples on the shores of Galilee etc. Paul is just referencing a piece of mutual knowledge about the resurrection and not giving the Corinthians new information. It would be like talking today about JFK today, there are plenty of people who were alive and remember JFK who can attest or deny anything said about JFK
@ I don’t disagree with anything you said. None of that changes that Paul was not there and wrote down the story from people we don’t know who they were. It very well may be true. In the legal sense it would be hearsay and second or third hand information. Be nice if we had a primary contemporary source of this outside of biblical writing.
Paul was literally one of the biggest persecuted of Christians. A member of the sandhedrin. Zealous. A member of the tribe of benhamin. Paul literally had nothing to gain his admission in Jesus. The aposltes feared him. Then suddenly paul had an encounter that changed everything. His account doesn't strike me as someone who is making things up because he gained any kind of wealth or status. He constantly pointed to the risen Jesus, because he had a genuine encounter with Him.
2000 years from now, someone will share; "We don't have proof there were 63,000 people attending Super Bowl I. The records could have been wrong and a small group of people could have moved around the stadium to fill the view in front if the camera's."

This would have been necessary if you accept that, per Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus was crucified on Passover that would be starting in a few hours at sunset. This would not have allowed time for the body to have been prepared by anointing it with oils and spices. Performing this ritual this was the reason women who had known Jesus went to the tomb the following morning. They found the tomb empty, so even this limited attention was not given to the body, BTW, it was not customary for Second Temple Jews to embalm corpses and doing so would have been most unusual for a person of Jesus’s social status.

Had different priorities. They would be every bit as sophisticated as we are if they lived now. And they were certainly educated and smart enough to know when someone is dead lol. Stop it.
@ look up origins of saved by the bell. Many living people have been declared dead and buried! People of that era believed earth was flat and the center of the universe. You’re ridiculous thinking otherwise.
one person saying 400 people saw the risen Jesus isn't 400 eye witnesses, it's one person who wasn't an eye witness saying 400 people did. There's a difference.
More over who says Document, written word, and oral traditions states 14 people seen him and several roman soldier, with 400, 500 people that knew of jesus for the last 3 years seen him.
Your argument can be applied to almost any historical document over 100 years old for which there are no longer any living eyewitnesses. This “logic” means we cannot believe most of history. That’s absurd. There are several extra-biblical accounts of the resurrection such as Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, and the Jewish Sanhedrin that also confirm the resurrection happened. The fact that nobody in almost 2000 years has DISPROVEN the resurrection, should convince people that this man named Jesus rose from the dead as he himself predicted.
just him saying that and saying its a christian claim is hilarious. its not a christian claim its Gods word claim. this guy obviously doesnt believe in biblical innerancy and his job is to place doubt wherever he can

Dying for a belief doesn't make it true. Do you remember the Rev Jim Jones? A lot of people killed themselves with poison because they believed he was God's disciple. Didn't make it true.
So many believers and non-believers?! Wouldn't be the easiest thing for Jesus or His Father to show themselfs to the world and tell them there is only one religion and belief that should be followed, instead of thousands different religions and beliefs that exist today?! It's a simple question, can anyone give the answer
I am a believer and follower of the way the truth and the life of Christ but not sure how Paul who came into the picture some 100 years after the death of Christ can attest to 400 people having seen Jesus even as his writings are in clear disagreement with the gospels themselves
With all due respect, an apostle writing about how 400 people saw the resurrected Christ doesn't make for 400 witnesses. Do we have their names? Do we have their sworn statements? Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Peace out.
@ hi Brock read Matthew chapter 24. Jesus warned the true Disciples not to believe of anyone says they found Him in the wilderness. The road to Damascus is in the wilderness or desert how your translation may go.
For centuries, critics and opponents denied the resurrection by trying to explain the empty tomb. They did not deny that it was empty, and none could produce or present a body.
Explaining spiritual truth to a dead human spirit takes a lot of wisdom and grace,in the case with huff and Rogan, reminds us of how Jesus sat down with a law scholar called nicodemus to explain the way to inherit eternal life. I pray for the blinders to come off Rogans mind so he can receive and understand truth, that is Jesus the word of life!
People these are all ancient texts that have been translated multiple times and cannot be proven. There is no proof of anything from the Bible or science as to what is going on and where we came from! To blindly believe in something with no proof is ridiculous to me. Saying “we don’t know yet” is not a bad thing imo
@ I have watched and researched this topic for hundreds of hours. I have a very open mind but there is no expert on earth with proof of anything. Just stories, belief, and assumptions. There is no definite proof of anything
@ It also contains historical inaccuracy as well as many examples of contradiction. I am very open to all answers, just need tangible proof. It is very possible Jesus and god exist, unfortunately there is no proof what so ever and no one can provide that. You need blind faith, which I am not able to participate in.
Paul is Saul of tarsis, who never personally met Jesus while he was alive... Allegedly he appeared to him and blinded him...way after the resurrection...So how did Paul know that 400 people seen it?
Let's not just dismiss him as clueless, it's okay. Jesus can withstand a little skepticism lol. Actually, he's right. I'd this is to be believed, then every other religion or myth or whatever has to be up for it. And it has to withstand the same tests and examination and critiques that the scriptures and Jesus have for 2000 years now. This one guy in 2025 is not going to come up with some new question or dilemma that has never been asked! I encourage him to question all of it with an open mind, every one of them. And if he does he will find his way, and that's a good thing. Challenge it, test it, everything else you will be able to debunk, one by one, till you get to the historical figure of Jesus, and then you will be tested because your scoffing will be longer be able to exist in ignorance. Then you'll have to either accept or reject it, because you won't be able to deny it anymore. Ours is the ONLY religion that demands that we test his word, and his prophets, and that is anything they say is ever proven wrong, to literally kill them because it's not of God. Nothing else says to test it, they say you have to believe it all without questions. Not Christianity. So go ahead, shoot your shot, and just be ready to accept Jesus when He passes your little test! Don't chicken out. This is the most important thing you will ever research or stuff into in your entire life, so you'd better not be wrong about it! He's not afraid of your challenge, and He will welcome you into his loving arms when you see the truth finally, without judgement or hesitation, no matter how disrespectful you may have been. I truly hope you do test the validity of all these things, but hurry up. You don't have forever.
The greatest fact check to me was the attitude of his apostles. They went from denying and hiding to men of unwavering fervor preaching and spreading the gospel. Not one wasn’t killed, most in horrible ways and yet not one recanted their message.

Yet, NONE and I mean NONE of the Gospel authors thought it was important enough to mention anything about these supposed witnesses. The apostles saw Jesus first after His resurrection for each of 40 days ( Acts. 1:1-6,8) as He taught them of things concerning His coming Kingdom. After that, He was ALSO seen by more than 500 brethren AT ONCE (1 Cor. 15: 1-6), and then appeared to Paul, who was sent to the Gentiles, and who wrote the Pauline epistles! He arose, no question!❤

What person would go to their own death, knowing that all of them colluded with one another to lie to the rest of the world about Christ’ resurrection. They were all martyred except one, John was vanished to an island.
I just had a thought and I know this will get ridiculed, but what if Jesus had an unknown identical brother who was aware of his brother trying to be a prophet

They underestimate how brutal the crucifixion truly was. Passion of the Christ shows a good representation but in reality it was extremely more punishing painful and grotesque than we can imagine. For Jesus to be subjected to that and rise on the 3rd day is without a doubt 💯 % proof. No one else in the history of crucifixions ever survived it.
@@MrSlick0069 did he? Prove it. The short answer is you can't. No one can. The attempt to lend legitimacy to a 2000 year old story by attaching unproven history to it is Christian apology at its core. Just call it belief and leave it at that

Prove it didn’t happen. We can make the same argument in reverse. No one can “prove” or disprove the resurrection. On both sides it’s about belief as you said. You either believe all the eye witnesses were lying or they told the truth. There’s no middle ground. Upon arrival at the place of his disciples, he said he was hungry and they gave him fish. These events are so specific and detailed, I do not doubt its record. The people of that time in that area were as literate if not more so than we are.
Jewish men had to be able to read Torah by the time they were 12. Not oral yet written. And the Greeks and Romans of that era were extremely literate.
My thoughts as well.
Beside they speared Jesus after he died just to make sure .
Resurrection is far different from Resuscitation. The resuscitated require advanced life support for hours to days and then rehabilitation to recover function. Resurrection means alive as if the assault on the body never happened.

@ Paul’s does make that clear in Galatians. He did go from a Zealous prosecutor to a follower of Jesus. That idea is profound. I agree with that

What I can’t understand is that when we die our bodies decompose but our spirits rise. How can we discern the fact that there was no body in the crypt? Jesus rose from the dead but was still seen in his own body and no body in the crypt.
Only problem with the question was he really dead? His body was prepared for burial, as in embalmed. You have the blood drained out of your body. @@shellywray9592 According to the New Testament accounts Jesus’s body was moved in haste to a tomb by Joseph of Arimathea.

The best argument to did he just survive would be mentioning all the saints that came back with him. All of them were dead, and I think that’s why they came back too. To squash these kinds of arguments.
I was dead to the world and doomed for eternal darkness! I called on the name of Jesus and He pulled me out of darkness...from deathto life and life more abundantly. They say nature forms us, school tries to inform us, the the prison system tries to reform us, the world tries to conform us, and sin deforms us, but Im here to tell you...Jesus Christ TRANSFORMS US!!!
