    My great-grandpa was one of the survivors of D-Day. People would just ignore him. Spending the majority of any time we went down, I made sure to take time and understand him. He was one of the coolest veterans/people I have ever met!!!!!!!

      My step-uncle is a Vietnam vet who was a CO in the shit. He's always got great stories, like the one about the time the plan was to crash a Huey into a POW camp to free them. At least that's what the Vietcong heard about the operation.

    In what Universe does firing cashiers at a store that is chaotic help smooth things over if anything she should do the opposite assuming there's registers that can still be taken specially since the cashier she fired were good at their job and the only reason to buy of them is because they were young she should have been fired and the people in that second story they should have helped that veteran especially since it sounded like they themselves were in the military they should have saluted him and said and come to the whole sir yes sir routine

    Something I was thinking about that's kinda strange....Karen's existed have existed since long before the Karen stereotype existed. But for a long time, from maybe the 80s to the 2000s, there was this certain type of short hairstyle that some women would get and the only women who had it were really snobby obnoxious Karen types. Not all of them had the do, but some did. It was something you typically saw in karens that were in their 30s. It was like a sign that identified them. People in the customer service industry back then knew this. It's forgotten knowledge

      I'm a retired Navy Senior Chief (E8) Yeoman (admin and personnel specialist). I used to run personnel support offices like this ID office. I would have ripped everyone present a new AH for ignoring a customer. Our job was to take care of people, not let them sit in a chair while everyone else was taken care of. Unless a customer is belligerent or a danger to others, you deal with them, no matter what they look like. Bravo Zulu (that's Navy talk for "well done") to OP for taking care of the veteran.

    Story 1....I can get the sentiment....but people in jobs like that need to stop thinking they are somehow making a difference. Why was it so staffed by highschool kids? Because it a a no skill job.
    The company doesn't "look bad due to high turnover" It looks just like every other store out there, that is constantly hiring.

    • @cliffcorson4000

      You are a fool by saying that cashiering I'd a no skill job
      Do you know what computer system they use? The policies in place at that place of business? The laws they have to follow? What they can/can't accept at the registers? Can you deal with 6-8+ hours of standing around helping people and answering questions on items all around the store and dealing with hostile people?
      I bet you can't answer any of those. Just because someone works in a job like a cashier or in fast food they are not in a no skill job. All jobs are no skill to a person who doesn't do them

    • @Sinturions
      @Sinturions Год назад

      @@cliffcorson4000 I have done those jobs, at several places, over the decades, it isn't a highly skilled position. If it was, self checkout wouldn't be a thing.

      @@cliffcorson4000 Keep telling yourself that.
      You cannot call a job "skilled" if it can literally be done without training by any random person.
      And stores worldwide are proving this, every self checkout that exists is a statue to say how simple the job is.
      So long as self checkout exists, you cannot claim runing a register to be a skill.
