Hey everyone a few notes about the video that I’ve seen repeated a lot in the comments here: 1. Nose aerodynamics - I know those rounded corners don’t have good aerodynamics, but I just wanted to use them for their looks (also I know I could have always just zero-dragged it) 2. Sound barrier stuff - I was originally thinking about trying to break the sound barrier, but I forgot about it and never tested it. However, I recently tested it and I can definitely go supersonic if I drop from high enough in the air. 3. Why no fins/gyros? - The rod stays very straight while falling, so stabilization isn’t too important, also I like the sleek look of no fins. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the video :)
Railgun expert here, Trailmakers actually calculates gravity suprisingly well, and becuase of that the rod can very easily accelerate to super sonic speeds just like it's real world (concept) counterpart, the rods from god. I was very angry you didn't let that happen. But onto something relevant, detachable blocks actually apply a very small amount of force in a direction, when using 4 you should always rotate all of them 90°. That could very easily be the cause of the inaccuracies. Another aspect I should mention, the physics may be better, but trailmakers is still trailmakers. So kinetic damage is always going to be inconsistant.
Yeah I thought of trying to go supersonic early on, but of course I forgot. Anyway I did not know that about detachable blocks, so that will be helpful information in the future.
gravity is extremely easy to calulate bro u just accelerate a velocity in the direction of the relevent gravity source and then use verlet integration to apply the velocity (i left out drag calulations cause thats calculated separately also sorry about spelling im dyslexic)
@@logictiveomg it’s actually you. All jokes aside it’s amazing to have a chill but inventive RUclipsr on this platform. It seems like those are getting less and less common these days.
I think you could have gone above the speed of sound. It was accelerating at roughly 10m/s squared so if you dropped it from like ~5000 meters you could have reached the speed of sound
Loved the video! If you ever do a part 2 too this concept you can use a camera set to 5 degrees so that you can aim it. Also, those larger cone blocks aren't very good for aerodynamics in that orientation.(Sadly) That's all I have to say other than have a good day.
Flash bulb had ONE job. And you early, I’m rather angry with the aerodynamics of the new update in general. Particularly how the new wheel wells stick out.
to help solve the drifting issue while aiming, if no one has suggested it yet, use some of the space fins (forgot the name) vertically, so that they constantly cause drag in any horizontal direction, and the gyros actually have a strength setting to them, which lets them have more strength in stabilizing the rotations, instead of using more gyros and adding a lot of weight, and if you have enough strength with gyros on the main craft you can use dragon engines instead of gimbals to rise a little faster, and reduce some weight, as the gyro would keep you upright regardless, cool video either way man
I decided early on I didn’t want to use fins in order to stick with the “rods from god” theme. Also, I already had the gyros on max strength, so I needed more of them.
@@logictive I wasn't referring to fins on the missile, I meant on the engine portion, when you moved left right or forward and back the craft would continue to drift in that direction, the space fins place on top would cause a large amount of drag to counteract the drift, allowing you to line up after take off instead of only dropping on things small enough to fit under its legs
Think the Rods from God but scaled down, lauched at a much lower altitude, and nerfed so the game can handle it without causing your computer to go thermonuclear and delete everything within a quarter mile radius.
Day 6 of asking logic to: Make an ultra/mostly realistic A-10 Thunderbolt II with an explosive rotating GAU-8 Avenger cannon that makes the iconic BRRRRR sound
Try replacing the weights with pure dynamite and making it way thicker! The game may not like it, but given the new physics update, the developers were begging for someone to build an explosive orbital strike ordnance.
"im not putting this on a plane cause thats absurd" he says as if he hasnt put a giant hammer on a plane. Like smaller darts have bene used instead of bombs so this really isnt that absurd.
Hey Vesau- I mean rail gun expert here, power couplings don’t make good projectiles. They are too unstable, and when they do work it’s either gonna phase through, do almost no damage, or explode on impact also doing almost no damage.
@@dominuseterro9866no, they are still unstable. They are even more unstable actually, and with the new collisions they simply don’t tear things apart anymore.
I explain it in more detail in my "These are Some of the Strangest Builds I've Seen" video at around 25 minutes in, but basically I have an accumulator connected to a bunch of comparison blocks for each face. The accumulator has a set min and max with steps enabled, and each comparison block is set to "equals" with the threshold as 1, 2, 3, etc.
Yeah that’s something I’ve noticed a couple of times as well, I tend to talk like that normally, so sometimes I forgot to try and be louder for recordings lol

I am also expert and I concur quite indubitably.
Also just going to point out that the tip was made with unoptimal aerodynamic pieces, it could have easily broken the sound barrier

I have learned 2 things from this video:
1 Logibob is indestructible
2 Trailmakers physics are unpredictable
I guess entropy is also in trailmakers
4:00 Yay! New Logibob faces! Also good idea making the logos colored correctly.
Bro is addicted to the new trailmakers damage physics
It’s true
Guy how many times did Logictive say "i forgot" in this video? 😂

HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE 100 K SUBS
Maybe one day 👍
so. use balloons to send it up, add in an altimeter, and have it auto drop just before skybox. :)
I have an idea: Make the Rod spin, I don’t know if it would help but maybe
That could be interesting, I’ll have to test that at some point
I thought u were kan for a second but this still seems like a fun video
now make it function like a cluster bomb, releasing tons of small little rods in mid air >:D
Realized it looked like a bullet

omg maybe i can finally build a working bunkerbuster now with a timed fuse on impact
we gots rods from god in trailmakers before gta6
I think you could make it faster using the magnet blocks

Why didn't you just strengthen the gyro stabilizers in the configuration menu
I did do that, but I still needed more stabilization
You can just make the gyros stronger 9:12
I already had them on max strength
so i dont want to critisize you, but just a tip, be louder, if youre quiet your voice has this sort of draging sound, but either way, great content
