i wasn't exactly expecting the bleed knot to wow me as much as it did. i mean, i honestly kind'a rolled my eyes at it at first... but no, i'll admit that's cool and super easy. :D
I can't believe I'm just finding Chuck Dorsey in 2020. I'm loving all of his videos!! I have so much scrap leather and can't wait to try these projects!!
The first project could also be made into a pair earrings. I have a lot of leather scraps that I got for free from my tanner and this helped me to know what to do next. You can also make christmas ornaments with the leather scraps also.
I am so impressed and now inspired to start some little craft projects and gifts - the 'feathers' would also make great bookmarks:) Thank you for the video, I'll be getting my tools from you!
The only project I had thought to make with my remnant bag so far is the natural horsemanship style rein guards that protect your rope reins and fit on the rings of the bit. I liked how mine turned out, but things were getting a bit dicey with the knife there, so I would love to see an easier (and safer) way to make them. The first project shown would already make a great bit keeper, though. Some people don't realize that a breakable section where the rein attaches to the bit can prevent a rider from getting entangled in case of a fall.
People are just very sad. So far, 37 sad people came here and clicked the 'dislike' button. Who in the name of creation dislikes a cool DIY video as this.
some people are just miserable...let's just ignore them. I really loved this video. Our 13.5 yo son has gotten into leatherworking and I can't wait to show this to him.
Love the video! Question: Did you also score the leaf from top to bottom down the center to make the vein for the leaf? I didn't see you do that in the video, but when I looked at the painted, finished piece it looked like you scored the vein in. My father worked with leather when I was young and I have wonderful memories of watching him for hours. The leaf earrings is what brought me to this video but I loved all of the projects. Well done! I'm looking forward to many more videos from y'all.
Willow! Another Southerner! Bless your heart (in the good way!). Your comments are so appreciated, and it sounds like you have some great memories! I would love to say “yes, we did that to make these look really good”, but, I think it was more to mark a stopping point for the fringe cuts and paint. It works though, doesn’t it? Cool! I hate to admit it, but most of my great ideas started as mistakes - don’t tell anyone - ha! Thanks for asking, and I hope you have great fun with some projects!
HI Wendy, We'll link the materials list below for the cuff bracelet. Each leather link measures 1" wide x 2-1/2" long. The size of the leather pieces in the remnant bags vary and can be anywhere from 3" to 6" long. www.weaverleathersupply.com/catalog/cp_/shop-by-project/miscellaneous/4-leather-remnant-projects/square-ring-link-cuff
So glad you like the videos! I take a lot of heat about not having a leather watchband, but, I’ve ruined too many with dye, antique… It’s nothing special but it is a good watch! Casio MRW-200H.
Dorothy, thanks for the comment! The rotating punch you refer to is our C.S. Osborne Economy Punch, and you can find it from Weaver Leather Craft Supply here: www.weaverleathersupply.com/catalog/item-detail/14826
Hi guys Another GREAT learning video, can't wait to see what you do on the next one?Could you do a simple possibles bag for Black Powder? I make knives, sheathes, and Black Powder accessories and am curious about your take on one. Thank you.God bless:DavePappy Dave's KnivesBerwick, PA.
Thanks for the great comment and an excellent suggestion. I would love to do a Possibles Bag! I have one on the set (so sorry; it’s behind one of the suits of armour and isn’t visible) that requires no hardware for strap or closure, and the design possibilities are endless! We’ll put that one on the board, and I look forward to it.
Dave, so you don't have to list your email on this feed, please send an email to Leathercraft@weaverleather.com requesting a photo of the possible's bag, and we'll get one sent to you!
Hi Alisha! I’m kind of a “maker of things,” so most of my bracelets were made by me using handcrafted beads from Thailand and Bali, Indonesia. The one twisted link bracelet with the butterfly clasp is Novo. Thanks for your kind compliment-sorry I don’t have a simple answer! Happy holidays, Loni Menuez
Hi Clay, We got a lot of requests for other videos so this second video got pushed to the side but we'll have to see about adding a second one. We do have a video on making leather keychains with leather remnants, we'll link it below. ruclips.net/video/vkI9pbrE7zY/видео.html
Thank you so much. I knew there must be a good way of making leather earrings without having to buy a cricut machine because people have been working with leather for centuries. But every time I try it find a leather earring tutorial, all these cricut machine videos pop up. Thanks for showing me how to do this using hand tools.
Great video! I love how simple you make everything look. I also really like how you offer the extended possibilities. Y’all make a great team. With this one video, you talked about cutting, measuring, hardware, paint and so much more.
Hey Chuck. Have a question. When you were making the bracelet, you didn't use the anvil for the bottom of the double cap rivets. Why? Is it not needed when setting double cap rivets? Please let me know. Thanks
I'm wanting to start doing leather craft because it just looks like so much fun and would be something I'd love to do as a stay at home mom. It is satisfying to watch and learn! I didn't know where to start but found your channel and it has already taught me so much just in an hour or two. I am excited to watch more and learn more from you! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills with us.
I have a very good friend who owns a leather shop. He gives remnants to me when I ask. Right now, I have 4 plastic totes filled with great remnants. Some pieces show the bad spots, but most are just remnants from sofas, chairs, etc. I feel very blessed.
Thanks so much! Can't wait to show this to our 13.5 yo son that got into leatherworking (introduced last year while earning his leatherworking Boy Scout badge). I know he'll love your tutorials and we will definitely be purchasing supplies from you. :-)

So easy to follow, fast and informative, not a lot of useless talking. Thank you so much.
We're glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Bleed knots are so cool! Thanx for that. I tied it with 2 contrasting straps of top grain instead of one strap folded over and it came out great
That sounds awesome, thank you for the comment!
your videos are very easy to understand , yet instructions not overly explained. Very clear and concise and well presented.
Thanks so much!
She is so pretty and really dresses up those projects with that smile.... back to the video :)
Great ideas, really nicely presented, straight to the point with no annoying chat that gets in the way of teaching and production, thank you so much!
Thank you so much, Val Fay!
I'm really enjoying your tutorials! Fantastic projects and I absolutely LOVE that cuff!! ❤️🌸🌈 The earrings are lovely too! Thanks for sharing 🙂🌸
Can't get enough of this channel!!!
Gorgeous key ring! I'm going to do those now! I can't wait to try so many colors. Beautiful cuffs!!!
Just did one of the key fobs. VERY quick, VERY easy!! If I sell any, they can be a low priced item, as quick and easy as they are!
That's great to hear, thank you so much!
The first project could also be made into a pair earrings. I have a lot of leather scraps that I got for free from my tanner and this helped me to know what to do next. You can also make christmas ornaments with the leather scraps also.
I loved this video. I've never worked with leather but this video makes me want to start... looking forward to the next set of projects!
Shirley, we're glad you liked the video. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you, Linus!

Thank you sir your videos gave me inspiration thank you so much!!!!!!! Have a blessed day keep them vids coming
I made a pair of medieval turn shoes out of a remnant pack from Hobby Lobby. Not the most historically accurate but not half bad.
Dude, you gotta make a leather band for that watch!
These are great ideas. Thanks!
Nice belt man!

@@KiwiJane1 Best wishes to your son. I have been doing leather work for a bit now and it is a great craft.
I bet those are vegans, hating on those who use natural leather.

Thank you for answering so quickly. Yes, it does give it a central focus and a little bit of texture too.
I think thats why its called gift box blue because its the color of the box of tiff. & co
Love your work
Thank you so much!
Просто и доступно! 👍
Very good
That cuff design would make an awesome accent for suspenders, an apron, a purse or basically anything with straps.
I love you're videos and they have helped me a ton, BUT, we would like to see CLOSE UP SHOTS.
im algerian and i dont speak english very well but is so beatiful work

Thank you so much, Anita!
Great little projects! My only complaint is the camera work was too blurry at times.
Thank you for your feedback, Rebecca!
Hi there. I love these Remnant ideas. Do you have any other videos with other ideas. I have loads of cut off leather. Thanks
teşekkürler teşekkürler....
Thank you 🌹👍💐
Can't find a list of material and size of the cuff bracelets.
Also size of all the material cuts would be helpful. Thanks

Can I make stuff like this and bracelets from pieces of leather from my old leather jacket?
Yes, absolutely! That's a great way to repurpose old leather items!
Could you please post a link to the rectangle links for the cuff bracelet? I couldnt find them on the website. TIA
I stumbled across your video and it was great inspiration! Can you tell what type/color leather used for the earrings? TIA
Hi Michelle,
Thanks so much for watching! The leather earrings were made from upholstery leather in a London Tan color.
Got my remnant bag and all the leather was thick and very stiff not sure what I can make with it! Very disappointed won’t order again
What kind of watch does Chuck have on? Also great video!
So glad you like the videos! I take a lot of heat about not having a leather watchband, but, I’ve ruined too many with dye, antique… It’s nothing special but it is a good watch! Casio MRW-200H.
