beautiful layout one thing I noticed the track work from a roadbed to a bridge transition is very uneven you can see the track bulging and the locos/cars going up and down
I'll have to say I've not seen a better video with a matched soundtrack with model railroading & life-like train sound like this one. An extremely well made video!
For all of the realism and beauty there is one critical flaw. Where oh where is the caboose. My dad was the Casey Jones of the Illinois Central Rail Road. Started shoveling coal in some of the last steam locomotives still around after WWII. Yes they still had some in the deep south. He worked his way up to engineer in a few years and at the end of his run had seniority from Memphis to the mouth of the gulf. I guess for 40 odd yrs he pulled mile long freighters from Jackson , Mississippi to New Orleans. Any way, he never left the round house without a Caboose tied to the back.
Good scenery work and video! Just curious about what looks like one of the German army's Leopard tanks on that depressed center flat car, about the 17 minute mark. ;-)
This BNSF N scale layout is a great one to see I enjoy the trains that ran on that layout a good job well done on how this layout was built its a great layout
A Excellent effort in catching the " feel "of big time Modern American Railways and also perfectly reproducing the look of the countryside. Best of luck for continued success with the Layout.
Beautiful layout! This would be more impressive if it were in focus. As it is, depth of field is so limited only one small area is in focus in each shot. Try shooting this with a camera that has "aperture priority" and close down the aperture to increase the depth of field.
Hey ,there is always a better way,but someone ,especially on RUclips, tries and rains on your......trains! It still is a great job,and next time ,do an even better one,I've seen his,I like your layout better. Keep it up!
Nice trains but too many closeups. Would like to have a couple shots of the overall layout scenery. What can be seen looks good. Would love to see it all.
Sound is great, but the depth of field is way too small. you need to get it much larger i think and it will make the video more enjoyable to watch. Nice angles though
Hello Jpaufsc, Talgo set comes from Spain brand. In 1990-1992 Ibertren(the brand which made the model), but after closed. Anyway, nowdays, you can find it on Arnold.
Well, this weekend ,I'm going to 5 different good train areas ,including the Tehachappi loop ,and bring my recording equipment with me. This is a great job at syncing up great audio to a really nice N scale layout!
I like the splayout, fantastic. The sounds are real, I’m an N scaler myself. I recently made a municipal tower for my N scale Pacific West Coast Railroad. I’m in the process of doing my next 2 projects for it which are an oil tank for the steam locomotive SP Daylight 4449 & a Railroad water tower which will be made from empty Progresso soup cans, dowels for the water tower & pizza box for the tank holding cradles & the oil tank pad area.
Nice layout, a lot of thought and detail went into it. But the thing that always bugs me about most layouts in all scales is the builders don’t accurately weather the power and all of the cars. I’ve never seen and immaculately clean rail car or loci. And yet people build these amazing layouts, yet run toy like mobile equipment on them.
This was shot at the Golden State Model Railroad Museum in Point Richmond, CA. It is one of 3 layouts at the museum and you can view them Sundays, between April and December -with special holiday shows - please visit: GSMRM.org
Though an O-gauge man myself, if I was gonna go small, is step down to N and bypass HO altogether. What you/these guys are able to accomplish in this scale is astounding!
A very prototypical operation,I'm very impressed with the sound and realistic road speeds in general, the only thing missing is weathering of the cars, engines, rail ties. The signals are awesome, the scenery in general is outstanding. Now,if you were to get into"superdetailing",you could possibly add wires to the telephone poles and add some cell towers.
The travelling sound of the railcars is always the sound missing on model trains. You have captured it well. Your scenery is also very good. The focus of the shots need to be more clear though. Nice post
Fantastic video and audio! I really appreciate how the rolling stock speed seems quite authentic to scale. I see so many videos with trains traveling at very over the scale speeds. Congratulations and wishes for future success and happiness.
I watched this video the other day at work, and couldn't comment. I had to watch it again. I am glad you know how real Rail-roading really is.The meets ! That is where it is. It is common to see double mains,it used to be that way but not anymore.I look forward to,hopefully see more from you. That is a great layout! Thanks!
Thank you, yes it's a club layout. the layout is about 10 feet by 30ish or so. i believe there was only an issue with NP cars featuring photos on the layout. i have about 10 or so engines, some people have them in the hundreds :P i could say i'm prominently passenger...
Here's a perfect example of why tripods were invented. Take heed, videoers. This is a great video and I enjoyed watching it a lot. A steady camera lets us enjoy the wonderful modelling. It's N scale, for goodness sake, and I still watched! Please join me in my campaign to rid the train video world of shaky, wildly panning and zooming videos.
Incredible layout video. I grew up in the Cajon Pass and Mojave Desert region. Is this a club layout? How large is the layout? Has your layout been published in any of the Model Railroad Magazines? How much motive power do you have and rolling stock? Do you run any passenger trains?
Hi What a great video top looking scenery, love Santa Fe and UP my layouts coming along slowly must put up a short video on it some time anyhow you have a very nice set up there many thanks for showing it. Glen
Yes, they are from Interail, which was my company! I designed these models. They are Thrall LO-PAC 2000 cars, vintage 1980s, especially equipped for refrigerated containers for APL (American President Lines). The blue set following them is also an APL car from Interail for dry containers. I sold the tooling to Deluxe Innovations in 1997, but they have not yet re-released these models. - Paul Ingraham
I love the Mojave rail area. especially as it follows highway 58 by my old house in North Edwards. Those engines would fly across that flat desert right there.
Alrighty man thanks, just went and liked the page. do you sell them or could i send you one and paint it for a price or what? Those weathered BNSFs look good!
Your attention to detail is outstanding, to say the least. The rock-work on the layout is definatly over the top sir.I'm really impressed at how prototypical your paint-work and detailing on the locomotives are as well.Very nicely done.Would really be interested at getting a quad-set of CN SD70ACe's,as well as some SD40-2's done up by you in the future.Thank-you.
beautiful layout

I really like the scale speeds, don't often see n-scale trains moving slowly....
OUTSTANDING!!! If my layout turns out even 1/3 as good as yours, I will be happy!! Thanks

Where have you been?? Under a rock somewhere?? U.S. railroads haven't used cabooses for decades....
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting it.
Good scenery work and video!

Very nice layout.
👍👍👍👍😎

Hold UP! who made that amtrak cascades set, I honestly would kill for a cascades set made in N scale.
Nice sound effects. I like the realistic speed of the trains as well as the beautifully detailed layout. You have a new subscriber.

Who made your well cars in the beginning?
Hello Jpaufsc, Talgo set comes from Spain brand. In 1990-1992 Ibertren(the brand which made the model), but after closed. Anyway, nowdays, you can find it on Arnold.
Camera has limited focus. No scenery depth.
Always a great looking layout, Really nice detail on scenery. I really enjoyed watching all of the action on the railway today. Thanks for sharing!!
Those red container cars at the beginning, what company manufactured them and what exactly are they called?
Excellent layout, but what really impressed me was the awesome audio. Well done!
Weathering, weathering, weathering. C'mon man....

why don't you weather your rolling stock
+1 the audio. The sound really makes this video. Very well done.
The DOF (Depth of Field) issue, is that because it was shot using a DSLR?
How were you able too get an old style CN dash 9? I havent been able to find one for my layout at all.
Nice train.
LG Gert

You’ve captured some realism in both the video and the model building/scenery; excellent work friends!

Very nice RR. Nice scenery. Thanks for sharing.
That is in Richmond California at the golden state train museum, I have driven my trains there before

I agree with Bo Hector....really awesome effects and masterpiece layout....
Well that's some amazing work you have there.
I just found the channel and I love this train in N scale! Thank you for such a great vidoe!
Fantastic Layout if I hadn't stated prior. Really enjoyed your video
Awesome added video. I also love it added to the old color movies someone made from trains in Utah or Colorado.
Thank you, yes it's a club layout. the layout is about 10 feet by 30ish or so. i believe there was only an issue with NP cars featuring photos on the layout. i have about 10 or so engines, some people have them in the hundreds :P

wow great job,, and a cool sonun on the trains, to like ur lay out... too and how big is it...
Incredible layout video. I grew up in the Cajon Pass and Mojave Desert region. Is this a club layout? How large is the layout? Has your layout been published in any of the Model Railroad Magazines? How much motive power do you have and rolling stock? Do you run any passenger trains?
you captured the aspect of the mountains dwarfing the trains perfectly.
Operation is AMAZING!!
Hi What a great video top looking scenery, love Santa Fe and UP my layouts coming along slowly must put up a short video on it some time anyhow you have a very nice set up there many thanks for showing it. Glen
Interrail made them as a kit (i think they're out of business) they're some type of trinity 40 foot well car...
are there any n scale clubs in the area? my family is relocating to miniapolis this fall
are those Kato Locomotives?

the meet on the 12:00 min is awesome!! can you put a draw or pic of the entire layoout from the top?? amazing!!!
I love the Mojave rail area. especially as it follows highway 58 by my old house in North Edwards. Those engines would fly across that flat desert right there.

what kind of track signals are you using?
love the camera angles and views.spectacular scenery.so realistic. where are the sounds from?
we used micro engineering for visible areas, and peco for the hidden staging yards, etc...
does BNSF mean: BeNelux Spoor Forum.
nice track btw
LuDaKeProductions No, it’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe, and it comes from the two companies, Burlington northern and Santa Fe merging.
i believe we used the simple plaster/rubber mold technique...
Top kwaltijd, mooie baan, goed materiaal zijn voor mij belangrijk maar jullie hebben het allemaal !!
gr. Harry
Love the Operation very Productive.
Ok, thanks I will check it out! I've been looking for a cascade train set forever, I have to say you did an amazing job on it!
@Daniel Pfeil The trains are running at a realistic scale-track speed.
The BnSf in green is Awsome love it!
That is so stunning. I'm at a loss of words. You're creativity is something else.
spezial Video
always have been more into ho scale but this is amazing. the sound, scenery and trains are awesome. excellent job
I need to take a trip back up to the layout it has been years since I've been up there.
That is a great layout and a really nice job videoing it!!! Keep'em comming!!!
When is parts 4-6 coming?!
How do you get the sound effects of the locomotives under load?
california, primarily the mojave sub, and donner pass
BTW, I love the real railway sounds you dubbed in...makes your video very realistic
Sound does not match with speed.
would love, love, love to know your rock making technique!
Great layout,I love your video.
Nice, Very Nice! Thanks for sharing!
Nice touch with the Talgo
This is what I dream about when working on my layout. Awesome sound mixing effects!
Very good video, the sound is great. Thumbs up!
Yours truly =P
Amazing camera work! I'm hoping to build something like this layout one day.
Nice talgo set :) - cool looking layout
any info on where i could snag that AC44 Canadian National?
Sehr schönes Video. Toll!
Muy bueno de verdad!!!
Cool. Thanks for the info.
Where did the Talgo set come from
Thanks! you should be able to find one at gsmrm.org
Wwow what a great video, very impressive layout.
I like the billboard sign
