For people who aren't watching closely, #2 cannot be done with possessing the bullet bills. You have no hat, cappy is used to open the door to enter. There are 2 versions of these stages. One with cappy or moped (which is easy) and one without (the one I am talking about). (im getting A BUNCH of comments saying you can possess the bullet bills, or even use a moped in #4. EXTRA TIP I MISSED!!: #2: DO NOT hold down the ZL (the crouch button) the entire time when making the long jumps. That makes it A LOT harder. Instead, press ZL and jump at the same time when at the edge of each block. (If I knew this I would have changed #2 to #4)

Volleyball on the other hand requires movement, hat throws, and a good bit of luck to get the second one. I have beaten the ultimate challenge of the game, but can't even consistently get 20 in volleyball. You begin to hate the milliseconds it takes Mario to actually begin moving after the input...
Frank DeCesare it is really hard to express in words, but I felt the same way. When the gameplay ended for this game. It is almost like I am saying goodbye to mario. This coming from someone whose first game was Mario 64. It is really hard to express.

4:26 that freaking level drove me nuts, because in the gravity planet section, the motion of mario changes depending in which side you are, so if you put the stick right while mario is upsidedown diagonal, it doesn't run right, instead he crouchs so it can be confusing sometimes. This being from a skilled mario player, who has speedruned mario 64 :)
Since this is only 2D this wasn't an issue for me. Bit the bullet bills controls are extremely finnicky. There's a part in the sand kingdom where you navigate a maze with bullet bills. And if you rotate the camera the controls sometimes flip. Sometimes even with the camera centered behind the bullet, it goes left when I steer right. What is up with that?
I hate the 2D Mario sections in Odyssey in general because being forced to use the L-stick on a flat 2D sections feels off and I dislike it, but you can't control Mario with the D-pad in these sections. That and the fact that that moon and its very off-putting controls and that you have to point the L-stick in constant different directions because of its strange gravity mechanics made that moon difficult for all the wrong reasons.

There are some tricks you pick up for number 1 during the countless atrempts. 1, the goomba invader is completely optional. 2, dives can speed up the pole jumping segment. 3 the steel lava wave is just triple jump timing. 4, there is a hidden heart if you explore with the lava bubble after the cannon. 5, yoshi's tung can help scale some walls and the flower paths response if you get stranded. THIS IS A BIG TIME SAVER, 6, the timed walls are skip-able by riding the elevator to a secret heart. (Stand on the second step, throw cappy out to the lava, side flip up and run on top of the platform, shake for a homing throw. If you timed it right, cappy will latch to the dummy while you are on top of the platform). 7, The glider is strait forward and the bugs will only hit you if you glide directly into them, holding down at an updraft will give you extra height, but kills forward momentum slightly. 8, the best way to deal with the moving platform is to wait in the opposite corner that the enemies spawn while keeping track of the movement if you are holding the throws for longer, so as not to activate a laser pulse. Everything after the pokio wall took me one attempt, so not really any tips. Overall, the best trick is to learn where the hearts are and perfecting everything else so that you can use them or don't need them. Any damage I took on a good run was from pits, cheap lava, or an occasional blunder on the moving platform. At my peak, I can get to the second super heart no damage, and anything after that feels cheap. What I hated the most was that if you fail at the pokio section, regardless of how well you did up to that point, you had to restart. Any other death feels fair, and you still feel like you are making progress, unless you some how come in too low even after hitting all updraft so gliding. Small bit of OCD kicked in when I noticed you never finished the Sphinx's quiz... True, it's not a moon, but still...
Honestly most of these werent too much a problem for me where i would have to look up how to do them. Not criticizing, just want to express my personal top 5 hardest 5. This one is your #4 the one where you have to do all the dives and long jumps. If you dont look it up this part is mainly just trial and error and it took me a while to find the right method to complete it. 4. Beach volley ball 100 volleys: this one is just painstaking to obtain, i have seen videos where it tells you to use 2 player and it does help, but it still is pretty hard. 3. 100 jump ropes: if you made it to the metro kingdom, you know why this is number 3... 2. Darker side: you saw it in this video and it is difficult without a walkthrough 1. Bound bowl S rank: to do this moon you must get first place in the secret bound bowl track in the snow kingdom behind the moon rock. After you beat A rank you unlock the S rank race, and i actually had to cheat to get this one! I took a short cut i found on youtube. Without the short cut that moon is literally impossible to get and even after trying to use the shortcut it was hard... i got a blister on my thumb from pressing “b” so much! That only ever happened while unlocking the gold tires in mk8 dlx. And does it hurt damnit. Good video tho! I understand you are a small channel and i support that so i hope you do better for your youtube future.
Great video that I agree with 100%, except the lack of mentioning the Broodal Boss Bonanza on the Dark Side of the Moon. Maybe I was in the minority, but that level took me a long time and many tries to beat. Granted, the green Broodal guy, the first one you fight, is by far the hardest of the four, and yes you can fill your health right before the Bunnyzord. An honorable mention of that moon/multimoon would have been appreciated! But I agree with everything else for sure. The piranha plant one in particular was... I can't even describe the rage I was feeling on it, especially since I did not know you could kill the mega-plants via the stem. I thought you had to do a frame-perfect backwards jump and ground pound on them after they fire off the splat. The stem makes things a lot easier, honestly. But by no means does it make the level "easy." Just easier. Like Estus Flasks made Dark Souls easier, but not necessarily easy. inb4darksoulsisnthardyoujustsuck comments. And by the way, I was taken aback by your final message in the video... I was not expecting something so bittersweet and profound from a top 5 hardest Mario levels video. I really loved that, even if it made me kind of sad. Haha. Great video :)
I spent an hour and a half on #2... I didn't realize that there was a moon behind the breakable blocks at the end of the bottom. The funny thing is is that I used the bottom to get back!
With the invisible floor one, I raged so many times. I would get to the final large plant and I would triple jump to kill them instead of the easy way XD and the long jump one with the bullet bills was waaaaayyy too challenging. The running timer one was confusing at first. I rolled on the first part, triple jumped and long jumped on the second part and then just repeated the second method for the third part. Lol perfect Top 5. I subbed.
LordOgar36 I only rolled. You have to wait just a little bit before you jump since the blocks are slightly too far apart to make it all the way by just jumping as soon as you land.
it is hard but you cant compare it to proper platforming challenges. The ropee is hard because it's cheap/poorly designed. btw, to beat it, after the 50th jump just time your jumps with the hey sounf the woman makes
Number 2 (5:23) This moon by far was the hardest one for me to get. I ran across the top, then jumped down so I could get both moons in one run. Took me about 40 tries. I agree that nowhere in the game required super precise jumping up until that level, it's a bit frustrating with that difficulty spike.

The one that took a good couple tries was running from the big bullet bill as you had to time your long jumps right. Darker side of the moon was a pain and took many tries because i always mess up at the woodpecker bird part. I'm glad I got all the hard moons out the way. Close to 800 moons this game has great replay value.

Ikr when I beat Long Journey's End yesterday I was almost crying when I was slowly climbing up the lightnining rod up to the last free Power Moon because like you did so much and now that you 100% completed the game there's like nothing left to do so its like might as well let the playthrough go to rest. Man I'll miss Mario Odyssey even though I'm too good at 3D Mario games (becuase like 4 of the moons you mentioned weren't that hard for me) I'll still miss it becuase it was a blast to play and I wish there was more but I guess I'll have to wait another 5 years for another 3D Mario game.
When i first played the game after a couple of tries I did number 4 (vanishing road) so fast i ended up getting the moon without the P-switch time blinking (signaling that its about to disappear).. for the last one I did the browser part while making sure i hit every falling floor (because i thought i would get something cool if i got rid of all of them).. i also completed this in just a couple tries. Comparing it to champions road from mario galaxy is not good from my point of view because i beat that in a couple tries as well.. edit: I did number 2 on my second attempt.. i don't see why every one finds it so difficult.. it's just a pattern do it once then you just repeat.......
For #2 instead of doing those one block jumps u just need to go trigger the bullet bill backflip to the top platform and run like hell 😊 hope i saved someone from that cancerous section
I think it should definitely be noted for those attempting #2 that it deducts 10 coins every time you fail so it's definitely in your best interest to spend all your coins beforehand so as to avoid risking wasting a significant amount and in turn, also taking away some of the pressure that goes along with that risk. Happy power moon hunting!
Having never seen any of your content before, the last closing moments of this video were kinda sounded a bit silly but then really came out heartfelt and very genuine. Thank you for sharing the gameplay but thank you more for sharing what gameplay means to you.
100 volleyball is hands down the hardest moon in the game. Way harder than the jump rope. Literally all you do is jump. The volley ball, it goes so freaking slow at the beginning, miss one and start all over
GD ZestY I tried that method and found it even harder, I think I got 81 the normal way. It didn't take me very long to find a rhythm in jump rope. I guess every gamer will struggle with different parts
Im a new viewer here, first time I watch you. I haven't finished Mario Odyssey last time I played in july 2019, because I always died to the Pikonio part. I legit never thought we could peck the rock wall, i always attempted to place myself better on a moving wall to get to the wood wall. Last week, I decided to start a new game, and found every moon that I had a problem with in the past, and... when I finally came back to the darker side of the moon, I used my old strategy for the pikonio part, even though i always lost last time. I- legit passed it first try, took me time though, stress and all. And I finally was able to see what was on the ice. When I finished the bowser part easily (as a first try), and that I saw the spark wire making a "T" and an "H" I was like "No way... is this really the end?!?! Omfg 😨😲🥺". I couldn't believe I got it first try, and then I see Cappy saying messages, and I hear music while climbing... man, I was about to have tears when reading Cappy's message. What a beautiful game that was.
I played the dark side of the moon missions before I knew that they were harder version of pr existing challenges. I almost cried when I thought that the game was going to subject me to the hell that was #2 on this list again. However when I realized I actually had Cappy I broke into maniacal laughter knowing that I could now crush the challenge.
frog dazai angry face? His sections of the challenge are the easiest. Riding the walls up you can avoid everything except the first line by staying on the left wall, and bringing him into the flower road section prevents the need of laser waves.
I haven't seen anyone else do this yet, but you can skip the section where you place Cappy on the Scarecrow and platform up the blocks through the rings. if you stand on the middle step, throw Cappy and have him hover there stationary, then jump on top of the block that has the Scarecrow on the bottom, shake the Controller to make Cappy jump onto the scarecrow, then you will rise upwards on top of the block and skip that entire section. There is even a ? Block on top that gives you a heart.
I'll give you a tip with the Darker Side 1. Get the Purple hat spinny thing at the beginning to get a 6 heart, note you don't have to get the goombas, just go past the goombas and long jump from the ledge to the purple hat. 2. On the sinking poles, as soon as you land on them (start climbling them) jump off, throw cappy towards the pole then move back towards it, you will slowly but surely make your way up there without having to deal with it sinking. 3. On the part with the "Vine Stretchy guy" (Yeah I did my research) at the very top of that section, there's a platform you have to push up to proceed. Push it to the very top then afterwards, get on top of it. Then get on top of the question block that is also over it. Then shake the controller (motion controls I know) to get even higher and move to your left before leaving the stretchy guy, wall jumping and cappy diving your way ON TOP of that section which skips the proceding section after it 4. On the part where you throw your hat on the scarecrow and the wall starts pushing outward, go slightly behind the scarecrow from an angle, throw it then immediately jump onto the platform with the scarecrow. You will skip that entire section, afterwards just wait for a bit till cappy comes back to you. 5. Last tip: With Glydon, when you start *ahem* "glydon" shake the controller instead of actually doing the normal flying to pretty much fly straight forward without falling. This will skip the REALLY HARD section with the poke bird. Alternatevly, while I've never done it myself, you can fly down then ride the first wind tunnel up, then do the straight glide, which will pass the Poke bird AND the bowser section entirely!
I did 3 first try, I was proud. I’m pretty solid at 2D Mario. 2 was quick as well for me, but not first try. I spent more time climbing that ending pole than both of them combined
I haven't beat the final challenge yet, but I just know I'm gonna get tears in my eyes when I'm climbing the pole and the music box jump up super star comes on.
I don't think the poison area one deserves to be here. You can just abuse your invulnerablity when you take damage to rush through with a few good placed long jumps. The 100 jumprope challenge on the other hand was tedious and boring af. But hey, even the battle against the Broodals on the Dark Side was harder than the poison area one imo since you have to get used to the different gravity and the fact that the Broodals were total pushovers before and actually are a tiny bit difficult this time.
i also think darker side is the hardest moon, but i think it's also the best one of them all. i just like it how you have to some things you've seen in the game and you have to make perfect use of them
lol for #5 I had to do this in New Donk BUT I had a co-op cappy pretty much cheating my way through it. It was a wakeup call when I had to do this one without the hat...

If you stand on top of the platform where you have to throw your hat and start the walljump part, and throw the hat down and back, then you can skip the whole part.
The thing with mario being upside down or in bullet bill form is that you dont press right for mario to go to HIS right, hwen you hold right you go right onscreen. So when mario is upside down and you press 'up', mario goes up which means he ducks. Just point the stick in the direction you want to move
Champion's Road is so much harder than Long Journey's End... and for 100% completion, you have to do it with five different characters who all control slightly differently, so muscle memory means nothing.
Beach Volleyball 100, The one where you jump over poison waves (I think it was a bonus stage in Lake Kingdom), and anything with the ''planets'' in 2D sections, where the controls get messy.
For number 4, you may be wrong. In the 2nd section, there is a much easier way of passing. If you long jump, the continuously jump, to store your momentum, it's pretty easy.
About the 2D level. It took me a while but I finally got it. I was so mad that it wasn't really playing like the actual old game, wasn't doing a high bounce off the bullets, plus my joycon reaction time is often annoyingly delayed. Also... When I did this level, the outfit defaulted to the classic one. Strange that it didn't in this run through. Agreed for all of these. I have 100% lost hope that I will ever beat these ones, especially the darker side of the moon. After failing many times, I watched another youtuber do it and I couldn't believe how long the level was. There's no way I could even do half of it and I'm not terrible.
At number five, you can skip the pushing block segment by standing on top of the block with the scarecrow, ground pounding, and then throwing your hat downward. Eventually the Cappy will get onto the scarecrow if you keep shaking the joycons.
For number two you can actually cheese the higher moon by going beneath it after the timer is over, do a triple jump and then a dive and you should be able to reach it
You can just force your way through in the invisible run (first one) Using the hidden moon and regenning near the rotating platform. Don't worry, you'll see it.
10:17 A trick I found to skip this next challenge is to throw Cappy close to the scarecrow and hold him there, then hang on to the block it is connected to with Mario and shake your controller to perform a homing throw, hit the scarecrow and let the platform move up with you. It even gets you a heart from a block at the top! :P
Buffbuff13 I did the same when finally beating it, but by same, I mean I rode up too. For me, I stood on the second step (failure would auto return cappy), threw cappy over lava, side flipped up, homing throw the dummy if coin rings don't foil my plans.
You wanna know how I beat a good portion of this? My trusty Classic Mario Amiibo, which made me invincible for a short period. The most frustrating for me was number 4 . HATED that part, really!
Quick tip:On the one we're u keep on pressing the p switch and going as fast as u can you can ground pound jump and dive to get the second moon if you missed it and this can all be done without dying
I have 100% completed this game. I found the other moons on this list difficult. However, without a doubt (for me anyway) #2 on this list was the most difficult moon in the game.
The last power star I needed was 100 rope jump, honestly it was delusional of the developers to make that, after 20 it all becomes a blur and becomes a game of a lot of luck and timing. The best tip I ever found was to spin cappy in between each jump after 50, because it essentially halves the likelihood of touching the rope when it spins at inconceivable speeds. Arsehole Nintendo.
you can pass everything past the glydon part of the darker side of the moon if you get on top of the air gusts and shake the joycons to go as high as you can. you can even get on top of the area where the bowser painting is to skip that too
I beat this game with 100% around half an hour ago. I agree with so many of these. I would put all of these as some of the ones I had the most trouble with. Fun fact: I never beat dk in number 1. You can use the joy-cons with glydon to go over the entire lava pit with the forks and right over the gap to the other side. AND I found that out myself.
Now number 2 is quite challenging you have to time your long jumps on the blocks below because that is the only way you will get across but just make sure the giant bullet bill is chasing you
You can skip the whole pokio, volbonan and bowser sections by shaking the controller when using glydon. Just make it to the top of the rock with the bowser painting and go behind it. The ending section is literally right there.
On #2 from your list, Breakdown Road. I found it 10x easier to just use the bottom blocks for both stars instead of trying to get back across on the top.
For the level at 6 minutes. It is way easier to just possess the first bullet bill, fly to the end to get the key. Then drop down to the lower level and possess the large bullet bill and just fly back to get the lower power moon
God, that bullet bill one took me such a long time. And the first time I eventually managed to get across underneath, I moved out of the way too early so it didn't break the wall and I had to do it again! But yeah, I totally agree with the list, but I would probably change the order so the 2D platformer one is the easiest of the five. Watching you do them doesn't do justice to how tricky a lot of them were, particularly with figuring them out in the first place (which specific jump needs to be done it what place, etc.).

If you timed it right, cappy will latch to the dummy while you are on top of the platform). 7, The glider is strait forward and the bugs will only hit you if you glide directly into them, holding down at an updraft will give you extra height, but kills forward momentum slightly. 8, the best way to deal with the moving platform is to wait in the opposite corner that the enemies spawn while keeping track of the movement if you are holding the throws for longer, so as not to activate a laser pulse. Everything after the pokio wall took me one attempt, so not really any tips. Overall, the best trick is to learn where the hearts are and perfecting everything else so that you can use them or don't need them. Any damage I took on a good run was from pits, cheap lava, or an occasional blunder on the moving platform. At my peak, I can get to the second super heart no damage, and anything after that feels cheap. What I hated the most was that if you fail at the pokio section, regardless of how well you did up to that point, you had to restart. Any other death feels fair, and you still feel like you are making progress, unless you some how come in too low even after hitting all updraft so gliding.
Small bit of OCD kicked in when I noticed you never finished the Sphinx's quiz... True, it's not a moon, but still...
Honestly most of these werent too much a problem for me where i would have to look up how to do them. Not criticizing, just want to express my personal top 5 hardest
5. This one is your #4 the one where you have to do all the dives and long jumps. If you dont look it up this part is mainly just trial and error and it took me a while to find the right method to complete it.
4. Beach volley ball 100 volleys: this one is just painstaking to obtain, i have seen videos where it tells you to use 2 player and it does help, but it still is pretty hard.
3. 100 jump ropes: if you made it to the metro kingdom, you know why this is number 3...
2. Darker side: you saw it in this video and it is difficult without a walkthrough
1. Bound bowl S rank: to do this moon you must get first place in the secret bound bowl track in the snow kingdom behind the moon rock. After you beat A rank you unlock the S rank race, and i actually had to cheat to get this one! I took a short cut i found on youtube. Without the short cut that moon is literally impossible to get and even after trying to use the shortcut it was hard... i got a blister on my thumb from pressing “b” so much! That only ever happened while unlocking the gold tires in mk8 dlx. And does it hurt damnit. Good video tho! I understand you are a small channel and i support that so i hope you do better for your youtube future.

Great video that I agree with 100%, except the lack of mentioning the Broodal Boss Bonanza on the Dark Side of the Moon. Maybe I was in the minority, but that level took me a long time and many tries to beat. Granted, the green Broodal guy, the first one you fight, is by far the hardest of the four, and yes you can fill your health right before the Bunnyzord.
An honorable mention of that moon/multimoon would have been appreciated! But I agree with everything else for sure. The piranha plant one in particular was... I can't even describe the rage I was feeling on it, especially since I did not know you could kill the mega-plants via the stem. I thought you had to do a frame-perfect backwards jump and ground pound on them after they fire off the splat. The stem makes things a lot easier, honestly. But by no means does it make the level "easy." Just easier. Like Estus Flasks made Dark Souls easier, but not necessarily easy. inb4darksoulsisnthardyoujustsuck comments.
And by the way, I was taken aback by your final message in the video... I was not expecting something so bittersweet and profound from a top 5 hardest Mario levels video. I really loved that, even if it made me kind of sad. Haha. Great video :)
I spent an hour and a half on #2... I didn't realize that there was a moon behind the breakable blocks at the end of the bottom. The funny thing is is that I used the bottom to get back!

With the invisible floor one, I raged so many times. I would get to the final large plant and I would triple jump to kill them instead of the easy way XD and the long jump one with the bullet bills was waaaaayyy too challenging. The running timer one was confusing at first. I rolled on the first part, triple jumped and long jumped on the second part and then just repeated the second method for the third part. Lol perfect Top 5. I subbed.
LordOgar36 I only rolled. You have to wait just a little bit before you jump since the blocks are slightly too far apart to make it all the way by just jumping as soon as you land.

it is hard but you cant compare it to proper platforming challenges. The ropee is hard because it's cheap/poorly designed. btw, to beat it, after the 50th jump just time your jumps with the hey sounf the woman makes
I found it very difficult to keep the perfect rhythm from 50 to 100. I did eventually get like 102 though
Number 2 (5:23) This moon by far was the hardest one for me to get. I ran across the top, then jumped down so I could get both moons in one run. Took me about 40 tries. I agree that nowhere in the game required super precise jumping up until that level, it's a bit frustrating with that difficulty spike.
I've got all moons expect the one hundred rope jumps in the city. (even tried the moped trick.)

The one that took a good couple tries was running from the big bullet bill as you had to time your long jumps right. Darker side of the moon was a pain and took many tries because i always mess up at the woodpecker bird part. I'm glad I got all the hard moons out the way. Close to 800 moons this game has great replay value.

Ikr when I beat Long Journey's End yesterday I was almost crying when I was slowly climbing up the lightnining rod up to the last free Power Moon because like you did so much and now that you 100% completed the game there's like nothing left to do so its like might as well let the playthrough go to rest. Man I'll miss Mario Odyssey even though I'm too good at 3D Mario games (becuase like 4 of the moons you mentioned weren't that hard for me) I'll still miss it becuase it was a blast to play and I wish there was more but I guess I'll have to wait another 5 years for another 3D Mario game.

When i first played the game after a couple of tries I did number 4 (vanishing road) so fast i ended up getting the moon without the P-switch time blinking (signaling that its about to disappear)..
for the last one I did the browser part while making sure i hit every falling floor (because i thought i would get something cool if i got rid of all of them).. i also completed this in just a couple tries. Comparing it to champions road from mario galaxy is not good from my point of view because i beat that in a couple tries as well..
edit: I did number 2 on my second attempt.. i don't see why every one finds it so difficult.. it's just a pattern do it once then you just repeat.......

I think it should definitely be noted for those attempting #2 that it deducts 10 coins every time you fail so it's definitely in your best interest to spend all your coins beforehand so as to avoid risking wasting a significant amount and in turn, also taking away some of the pressure that goes along with that risk. 100 volleyball is hands down the hardest moon in the game. Way harder than the jump rope. Literally all you do is jump. The volley ball, it goes so freaking slow at the beginning, miss one and start all over

GD ZestY I tried that method and found it even harder, I think I got 81 the normal way. It didn't take me very long to find a rhythm in jump rope. I guess every gamer will struggle with different parts

Im a new viewer here, first time I watch you. I haven't finished Mario Odyssey last time I played in july 2019, because I always died to the Pikonio part. I legit never thought we could peck the rock wall, i always attempted to place myself better on a moving wall to get to the wood wall. Last week, I decided to start a new game, and found every moon that I had a problem with in the past, and... when I finally came back to the darker side of the moon, I used my old strategy for the pikonio part, even though i always lost last time. I- legit passed it first try, took me time though, stress and all. And I finally was able to see what was on the ice. When I finished the bowser part easily (as a first try), and that I saw the spark wire making a "T" and an "H" I was like "No way... is this really the end?!?! Omfg 😨😲🥺". I couldn't believe I got it first try, and then I see Cappy saying messages, and I hear music while climbing... man, I was about to have tears when reading Cappy's message. What a beautiful game that was.
I played the dark side of the moon missions before I knew that they were harder version of pr existing challenges. I almost cried when I thought that the game was going to subject me to the hell that was #2 on this list again. However when I realized I actually had Cappy I broke into maniacal laughter knowing that I could now crush the challenge.

frog dazai angry face? His sections of the challenge are the easiest. Riding the walls up you can avoid everything except the first line by staying on the left wall, and bringing him into the flower road section prevents the need of laser waves.
I haven't seen anyone else do this yet, but you can skip the section where you place Cappy on the Scarecrow and platform up the blocks through the rings. if you stand on the middle step, throw Cappy and have him hover there stationary, then jump on top of the block that has the Scarecrow on the bottom, shake the Controller to make Cappy jump onto the scarecrow, then you will rise upwards on top of the block and skip that entire section. There is even a ? Block on top that gives you a heart.
I'll give you a tip with the Darker Side
1. Get the Purple hat spinny thing at the beginning to get a 6 heart, note you don't have to get the goombas, just go past the goombas and long jump from the ledge to the purple hat.
2. On the sinking poles, as soon as you land on them (start climbling them) jump off, throw cappy towards the pole then move back towards it, you will slowly but surely make your way up there without having to deal with it sinking.
3. On the part with the "Vine Stretchy guy" (Yeah I did my research) at the very top of that section, there's a platform you have to push up to proceed. Push it to the very top then afterwards, get on top of it. Then get on top of the question block that is also over it. Then shake the controller (motion controls I know) to get even higher and move to your left before leaving the stretchy guy, wall jumping and cappy diving your way ON TOP of that section which skips the proceding section after it
4. On the part where you throw your hat on the scarecrow and the wall starts pushing outward, go slightly behind the scarecrow from an angle, throw it then immediately jump onto the platform with the scarecrow. You will skip that entire section, afterwards just wait for a bit till cappy comes back to you.
5. Last tip: With Glydon, when you start *ahem* "glydon" shake the controller instead of actually doing the normal flying to pretty much fly straight forward without falling. This will skip the REALLY HARD section with the poke bird. Alternatevly, while I've never done it myself, you can fly down then ride the first wind tunnel up, then do the straight glide, which will pass the Poke bird AND the bowser section entirely!
2:45 - Lol when I did that section I fell off and missed the moon, so I did a ground pound jump and cap jump to reach it

I did 3 first try, I was proud. I’m pretty solid at 2D Mario. 2 was quick as well for me, but not first try. I spent more time climbing that ending pole than both of them combined

I don't think the poison area one deserves to be here. You can just abuse your invulnerablity when you take damage to rush through with a few good placed long jumps.
The 100 jumprope challenge on the other hand was tedious and boring af. But hey, even the battle against the Broodals on the Dark Side was harder than the poison area one imo since you have to get used to the different gravity and the fact that the Broodals were total pushovers before and actually are a tiny bit difficult this time.

Yep, I pretty much agree with the list. These were kinda tricky.
If you stand on top of the platform where you have to throw your hat and start the walljump part, and throw the hat down and back, then you can skip the whole part.
*On the long journey moon
The thing with mario being upside down or in bullet bill form is that you dont press right for mario to go to HIS right, hwen you hold right you go right onscreen. So when mario is upside down and you press 'up', mario goes up which means he ducks. Just point the stick in the direction you want to move
Champion's Road is so much harder than Long Journey's End... and for 100% completion, you have to do it with five different characters who all control slightly differently, so muscle memory means nothing.
Beach Volleyball 100, The one where you jump over poison waves (I think it was a bonus stage in Lake Kingdom), and anything with the ''planets'' in 2D sections, where the controls get messy.
For number 4, you may be wrong. In the 2nd section, there is a much easier way of passing. If you long jump, the continuously jump, to store your momentum, it's pretty easy.
About the 2D level. It took me a while but I finally got it. I was so mad that it wasn't really playing like the actual old game, wasn't doing a high bounce off the bullets, plus my joycon reaction time is often annoyingly delayed. Also... When I did this level, the outfit defaulted to the classic one. Strange that it didn't in this run through. Agreed for all of these. I have 100% lost hope that I will ever beat these ones, especially the darker side of the moon. After failing many times, I watched another youtuber do it and I couldn't believe how long the level was. There's no way I could even do half of it and I'm not terrible.

At number five, you can skip the pushing block segment by standing on top of the block with the scarecrow, ground pounding, and then throwing your hat downward. Eventually the Cappy will get onto the scarecrow if you keep shaking the joycons.

For number two you can actually cheese the higher moon by going beneath it after the timer is over, do a triple jump and then a dive and you should be able to reach it
You can just force your way through in the invisible run (first one) Using the hidden moon and regenning near the rotating platform. Don't worry, you'll see it.
For number 3 I was so angry by trying to beat this level but when I got both moons I was the happiest man alive
For number 4 you just roll as fast as you can before the step-up part and use triple jumps to preserve the momentum from the roll.
10:17 A trick I found to skip this next challenge is to throw Cappy close to the scarecrow and hold him there, then hang on to the block it is connected to with Mario and shake your controller to perform a homing throw, hit the scarecrow and let the platform move up with you. It even gets you a heart from a block at the top! :P
Buffbuff13 I did the same when finally beating it, but by same, I mean I rode up too. For me, I stood on the second step (failure would auto return cappy), threw cappy over lava, side flipped up, homing throw the dummy if coin rings don't foil my plans.

You wanna know how I beat a good portion of this? My trusty Classic Mario Amiibo, which made me invincible for a short period. The most frustrating for me was number 4 . HATED that part, really!
Quick tip:On the one we're u keep on pressing the p switch and going as fast as u can you can ground pound jump and dive to get the second moon if you missed it and this can all be done without dying
I have 100% completed this game. I found the other moons on this list difficult. However, without a doubt (for me anyway) #2 on this list was the most difficult moon in the game.
The last power star I needed was 100 rope jump, honestly it was delusional of the developers to make that, after 20 it all becomes a blur and becomes a game of a lot of luck and timing. The best tip I ever found was to spin cappy in between each jump after 50, because it essentially halves the likelihood of touching the rope when it spins at inconceivable speeds. Arsehole Nintendo.
you can pass everything past the glydon part of the darker side of the moon if you get on top of the air gusts and shake the joycons to go as high as you can. you can even get on top of the area where the bowser painting is to skip that too
I beat this game with 100% around half an hour ago. I agree with so many of these. I would put all of these as some of the ones I had the most trouble with. Fun fact: I never beat dk in number 1. You can use the joy-cons with glydon to go over the entire lava pit with the forks and right over the gap to the other side. AND I found that out myself.
Now number 2 is quite challenging you have to time your long jumps on the blocks below because that is the only way you will get across but just make sure the giant bullet bill is chasing you
You can skip the whole pokio, volbonan and bowser sections by shaking the controller when using glydon.
Just make it to the top of the rock with the bowser painting and go behind it. The ending section is literally right there.
On #2 from your list, Breakdown Road. I found it 10x easier to just use the bottom blocks for both stars instead of trying to get back across on the top.

God, that bullet bill one took me such a long time. And the first time I eventually managed to get across underneath, I moved out of the way too early so it didn't break the wall and I had to do it again!
But yeah, I totally agree with the list, but I would probably change the order so the 2D platformer one is the easiest of the five. Watching you do them doesn't do justice to how tricky a lot of them were, particularly with figuring them out in the first place (which specific jump needs to be done it what place, etc.).
