You can then keep referring back to the pics as you place the pieces. But yeah, it is hard if you choose to do it by memory.

That 5 round fight isn't quite as bad if you realize that going inside the Odyssey auto heals Mario. Simply warp back to the Odyssey checkpoint between rounds and heal if needed. Its a bit tedious walking back up the tower, but in the long run it makes the fight as a whole more manageable.
Okay, the 5 quick kill methods are as follows: Green: first hit him 3 times quickly and jump on his head, then quickly jump on the hat he is in, afterwards just continue hitting him until he's about to do the spin attack, when he does jump on him, rinse and repeat Metal: stand close to her for her to move back, when she throws her bombs move back and hit them at her direction, then stomp her, when she gets into her hat quickly go towards the middle then towards where she went, quickly hit the bomb underneath her, rinse and repeat Purple: quickly hit him and jump on his head, wait till he stops spinning in his cap and stomp him, rinse and repeat Tall: this one is extremely easy in moon, hit his cap the first time stomp his head, when animation of him getting into his head is done stomp him, when he reappears he wont have his cap for a short moment, stomp him then, remember to keep yourself in the air after each jump, rinse and repeat Mecha: okay this one is extremely difficult if not for the moon physics, simply capture the thing you need to destroy it's leg, destroy the one you see, uncapture, cap dive yourself back to the top of it, do it a second time as he will blow you back, wait for an oppurtune moment to stomp one of the ones on the side, leave the top one for last for ease sake, then do the whole cap dive thing again, rinse and repeat

Today I just managed to get all the moons and collectibles. I feel so proud despite the fact that I glitched the Jump Rope challenge and used a guide to find anything that i missed. It is an easy game to finish, hard to get 100% though.

The circle-tracing moons get easy once you use the visual references on the ground and nearby environment (like the crater in the Moon Kingdom). I also found out you can use a ground pound to make the sheep jump in those herding levels, which makes them A LOT easier to control. That said, the Dark Side moons are definitely the hardest.
at around 40 plus jumps you'll be maintaining a single and double jump loop .The moment mario hits the ground is the moment you smash the jump button. You basically focus on timing Mario's jumping and not the rope at that point.
It doesn't frustrate you once you know the trick. I didn't do the one shown in this video but I did the one in sand kingdom, tend 3 sheeps for dancing skull guy

The number of people who think you can capture that banzai bill in that one moon they mentioned in this vid tells me that a lot of you people haven't finished the game yet...or are completely blind.
Probably because the exact same challenge exists earlier in the game and you could use Cappy for that, so they don't realize that there is a second version of the challenge later. It's also something you'd pass by even if you were to finish the game. So I think a better answer is that people haven't played enough of the post game to notice.
Blue Villager cheating is when you use something that isnt in the game to help you like aimbot this is exploiting which is being smart and using a mechanic to help you

It’s not that bad of a pain to get 100 because you can glitch a letter out of bounds from the park and put it in between the jump rope and quickly exit and land on top of the letter. Stay still until your desired number and exit. To do this, prop a letter besides M facing west and the M facing north. Use the motorbike and get to where the M was standing. Run towards the M and jump then dismount and make sure it is propped up tilted almost ninety degrees. Carefully move the M towards the letter until it clips into the letter and capture the letter and depending how you did it, you should fling out of bounds or be free.
These aren't so bad, honestly. Even the golden koopa isn't programmed to run the most effective route. You can figure out a consistently faster route for pretty much every race. Once you figure this out, these stars become more like puzzles than races, which is better.
Tip: of youre having trouble fighting the Brodals on the dark side of the moon go to a different kingdom grab a triple life heart to bring your max hearts up to 6 the go back and see how you do then. Hope this helped lots of people cause it sure helped me.
There's actually a triple heart on the dark side of the moon. You have to throw cappy at one of the grey/white veggies near the bridge that brings you to the brodals matches. It saved me SO much time once I found that dang heart because I didn't have to keep traveling from world to world.
What I did was get a mega heart and after every fight I would go back to the odyssey (like actually inside it) and it would recharge my health. The only downside is you have to go all the way back to the designated area
If you talk to Captain Toad and get his Power Moon, your health is completely restored before the final fight. I did that on my second attempt, which helped me defeat the last boss.
What if I told you.. there is a second way to do that bullet bill one? Its harder but you can actually dive from platform to platform and do it that way What did you think I was going to say "capture the banzai bill" like everyone else who didnt notice cappy was missing?
@@gracetaylor8063 you have ro play up til glydon (skip the walljump part by just staying on the elevating platforn with the scsrcrow). Capture glydon. Once the last or second last air tower shake the retomte while being lifted by the air flow. You should gain insane hight. Skae your controller to keep altitude and go around everything and thats it.
Long Journey's end isn't that frustrating. Vanishing Road and Breakdown Road are easily more frustrating. I'm also surprised you didn't feature the actual most frustrating moon Jump Rope Genius. It's boring, doesn't use any skills you develop over the rest of the game and feels arbitrary and random.
I didn't get that frustrated at that one, as it only took me a few tries. But I think I just got lucky as I didn't really feel I was doing anything particularly well to win it.
Totally agree with rope genius. It's by far the most frustrating moon to get. l spent hours to get 100 jumps and i still didn't manage to pass beyond 69 jumps! And the constant repeat process makes you feel like you're not progressing at all
DekuLord althought i think that the beach volleyball moon is equaly frustrating than the rope genius, if not more. For the rope genius, you have to get a rythm for the jump and keep it once it reach max speed. The volleyball send random rebound and any lose is because you miss the ball by an inche
So we’re just not going to talk about sand kingdom moon 76, the one where you have to guide bullet bill to a far away platform, but wait just normally doing it won’t get you far enough?
READ THIS BEFORE YOU COMMENT, PEOPLE. I know it's been mentioned before, but after reading some of these awful comments, I feel the need to bring it up. There are HARDER VERSIONS of some of the challenge rooms in Super Mario Odyssey, where you must leave Cappy on a scarecrow to access. Not to mention all of these people who clearly haven't done any research or made it far enough into the game to realize this are getting self-righteous and toxic towards everyone else because they think they know everything. I'm not trying to be salty, but come on people. Even the RUclips comments section has to have SOME standards.

I don’t believe that challenge is legitimate. I did it to what I thought was utter perfection and got 50 points, the next time around I forgot the nose and scored 65, enough to earn the moon!
Or for Dark Side #4, you just capture the Bullet Bill and fly to the key, then capture the bigger one and hit the rocks. EDIT: Didn't know there were two different versions. I've only experienced the one WITH my cap.
That's what I did. It's good to note that you don't capture the big bullet bill on the top level. Rather, capture the big bullet bill on the bottom level.
Moon #32 its easy if you do it backwards (instead of going where the arrows tell you to walk) what helps you are those little mountains near the koopa...
For the moon with the volleyball mimigame: I put 2 player on, made mario stand one one side and used cappy on the other part. It only took about 3 to 5 mins and made it pretty easy to get to 100! Just takes some patience.
Tip for volleyball: switch to 2 player mode and use the Cappy controller. Cappy doesn’t have Mario’s terrible inertia to overcome, he’s consistently the same fast speed.
Koopa walking really shouldn't be on there. There is a whole plethera of other much more frustrating moons. Also, the jump rope is the most frustrating. Even if the darker side is harder, jump rope is WAW, WAAAYYY more frustrating
i thought jump rope was fairly easy to get to 100 maybe because I have pretty good rhythm. But I still don't have the volleyball moon and probably never will!
Matthew George for the volleyball try staying close to the center and just throwing Cappy at the shadow of the ball. With accurate throws you can get over 100 in no time. (Also other people have just gone in to 2 player and used Cappy, because he's faster and can change direction on a dime. But that didn't work for me)
@@ben76326that was literally my strategy. Staying in the middle and throw your cap where the shadow lands. And the ball can land just once before missing, so it's a plus for us.
I agree with most of the entries on this list, especially "Long Journey's End," "Hero of the Beach" and "Breakdown Road Final Challenge." That said, I didn't find "Herding Sheep Above The Fog" to be that bad, since it starts out relatively easy, and only the last stretch is very difficult.
The secret racing course (class s) on snow kingdom, the 100 jumps on both volleyball and rope and the vanishing road are the most frustrating moons. Dark Side was hard but fair, you can get over it with enough training.

Humes Knife You’re thinking of the Wooded Kingdom version. The header at 3:27 states this is the Dark Side version and the video shows Mario doesn’t have Cappy.
You forgot the Jump Rope Genius moon. You have to jump 100 times in rhythm without missing a beat as the jump rope moves faster and faster. If you miss, you have to start all over again.
The voleyball one was much easier than the rope jump... Also, even though it wasn't that hard to get, the one where you have to get all the musical notes rolling on the edge in the Wooded Kingdom it's very frustrating since every time you fall you have to climb back up.
For the notes, just use Assist Mode. You get more time for collecting the notes. P.S. I like the one in the Wooded Kingdom where you have to stretch as an Uproot to take notes.
Btw, the one where you said you have to do 8 perfect long jumps, i actually went back from the top to get the moon, i actually didnt know you had to go from the bottom part lol

I hated that level. Some people probably had fun (like me at first) but I got sick after 3 or 4 tries. I did manage to complete it though (and 100% complete the game) so I recommend to keep on trying!

+The D0cktor i thought the volleyball moon was a lot more frustrating. problem with that moon is it takes a few minutes to get to max speed. i messed up that challenge at 97 and 99 and was so mad. with the skipping rope challenge, at least it's easy to start again and have another go because it's so fast. i also found it easier- the trick is to watch the skipping rope just before it sweeps under mario, and listen to the woman saying "hey!", and you will fall into a rhythm of tapping A at the right time.

In the mushroom kingdom after herding the 6 sheep and getting the moon, I decided to KILL the sheep because they are stupid. Funny enough, toad was still saying “thank you for gathering my sheep” (or something like that) I hate those sheep
Not me. I did it on my first try! After getting the harder of the 2 power moons, I ground-pounded and destroyed any sherms remaining. When I didn’t have enough time to get to the other side, I went back to the non-vanishing road. Tip: if you know you’re going to run out of time, go back.
That breakdown road was the first time a Nintendo game (or any game) made me cry of anger. I was trying for like an hour, and then I finally made it to the end of the long jump bit, and I looked behind me and the thing didn't even follow me. The second time I cried of anger was against that damn secret final boss of Octo Expansion
Actually I beat it on my first try by doing a glitch with the frogs at the beginning of the level to skip darker side entirely. And that's no lie. But when I played the level normally, I beat it on my 57th try.

so are we just gonna ignore the moon in the sand kingdom where you have to take control of the bullet bill to hit the block on the pillar that is just too far away so the bullet bill blows up just as you land on the pillar?
darker side is pretty tough. but, there is one way to make it easier. you know the glideon part? the game doesnt tell you, but shaking your joycons while it glides causes it to stay at the same altitude. using it, you can skip straight to the bowser portion... just remember to dive when the game catches you cheating and boots you out of the possession.
Are you seriously not going to mention the 100 jumps in new donk city. That and volleyball are the only 2 moons I haven't gotten in my first profile. My husband has tried too and they are basically infuriatingly impossible.

Once the last or second last air tower shake the retomte while being lifted by the air flow. You should gain insane hight. Skae your controller to keep altitude and go around everything and thats it.

Long Journey's end isn't that frustrating. Vanishing Road and Breakdown Road are easily more frustrating. I'm also surprised you didn't feature the actual most frustrating moon Jump Rope Genius. It's boring, doesn't use any skills you develop over the rest of the game and feels arbitrary and random.

I didn't get that frustrated at that one, as it only took me a few tries. But I think I just got lucky as I didn't really feel I was doing anything particularly well to win it.
Totally agree with rope genius. It's by far the most frustrating moon to get. l spent hours to get 100 jumps and i still didn't manage to pass beyond 69 jumps! And the constant repeat process makes you feel like you're not progressing at all
DekuLord althought i think that the beach volleyball moon is equaly frustrating than the rope genius, if not more. For the rope genius, you have to get a rythm for the jump and keep it once it reach max speed. The volleyball send random rebound and any lose is because you miss the ball by an inche

I know it's been mentioned before, but after reading some of these awful comments, I feel the need to bring it up. There are HARDER VERSIONS of some of the challenge rooms in Super Mario Odyssey, where you must leave Cappy on a scarecrow to access. Not to mention all of these people who clearly haven't done any research or made it far enough into the game to realize this are getting self-righteous and toxic towards everyone else because they think they know everything.
I'm not trying to be salty, but come on people. Even the RUclips comments section has to have SOME standards.

Or for Dark Side #4, you just capture the Bullet Bill and fly to the key, then capture the bigger one and hit the rocks.

That's what I did. It's good to note that you don't capture the big bullet bill on the top level. Rather, capture the big bullet bill on the bottom level.
He's missing his hat on that one, as you need a scarecrow to open the area. (There are two versions of the level, one with the hat, one without)

Two separate maps. The one with your hat is easy as you can capture the bullet bill but the one without requires jumps

For the moon with the volleyball mimigame: I put 2 player on, made mario stand one one side and used cappy on the other part. It only took about 3 to 5 mins and made it pretty easy to get to 100! Just takes some patience.
Tip for volleyball: switch to 2 player mode and use the Cappy controller. Cappy doesn’t have Mario’s terrible inertia to overcome, he’s consistently the same fast speed.

Koopa walking really shouldn't be on there. There is a whole plethera of other much more frustrating moons. Also, the jump rope is the most frustrating. Even if the darker side is harder, jump rope is WAW, WAAAYYY more frustrating
i thought jump rope was fairly easy to get to 100 maybe because I have pretty good rhythm. But I still don't have the volleyball moon and probably never will!
Matthew George for the volleyball try staying close to the center and just throwing Cappy at the shadow of the ball. With accurate throws you can get over 100 in no time.
(Also other people have just gone in to 2 player and used Cappy, because he's faster and can change direction on a dime. But that didn't work for me)

@@ben76326that was literally my strategy. Staying in the middle and throw your cap where the shadow lands. And the ball can land just once before missing, so it's a plus for us.
I agree with most of the entries on this list, especially "Long Journey's End," "Hero of the Beach" and "Breakdown Road Final Challenge." That said, I didn't find "Herding Sheep Above The Fog" to be that bad, since it starts out relatively easy, and only the last stretch is very difficult.

#38 with the Volleyball @ Seaside Kingdom was by FAR the most frustrating for me! It took me like 6 hours to get by.

The secret racing course (class s) on snow kingdom, the 100 jumps on both volleyball and rope and the vanishing road are the most frustrating moons. Dark Side was hard but fair, you can get over it with enough training.

You forgot the Jump Rope Genius moon. You have to jump 100 times in rhythm without missing a beat as the jump rope moves faster and faster. If you miss, you have to start all over again.

Nintendo is famously known for having very difficult levels in their games.
The voleyball one was much easier than the rope jump... Also, even though it wasn't that hard to get, the one where you have to get all the musical notes rolling on the edge in the Wooded Kingdom it's very frustrating since every time you fall you have to climb back up.
For the notes, just use Assist Mode.
You get more time for collecting the notes.
P.S. I like the one in the Wooded Kingdom where you have to stretch as an Uproot to take notes.

You guys obviously didn’t play the final Bound Bowl level.
I hated that level. Some people probably had fun (like me at first) but I got sick after 3 or 4 tries. I did manage to complete it though (and 100% complete the game) so I recommend to keep on trying!

In Snow Kingdom, not only the ice can slip up your score.
You have to walk in a triangle instead of a circle, unlike the Sand and Moon Kingdoms.
If you didn't know, sheep will NEVER walk off the edge unless you hit them, so if they fall off, that's on you.
So true. You can easily angle the sheep to get it onto the higher platform without it falling off. And the hidden Moon is the same area is even easier.
I agree. Even though the Forest Fog Sheep isn't too hard, I find the Iron Bridge Sheep easier.

with the skipping rope challenge, at least it's easy to start again and have another go because it's so fast. i also found it easier- the trick is to watch the skipping rope just before it sweeps under mario, and listen to the woman saying "hey!", and you will fall into a rhythm of tapping A at the right time.
The races are the worst for me, very frustrating. The only thing as frustrating for me is jump rope and volleyball second power moons.
I can agree on the first or last one on the Darker Side of the moon. I even had to use Assist Mode just to get passed it, still took many tries.

In the mushroom kingdom after herding the 6 sheep and getting the moon, I decided to KILL the sheep because they are stupid. Funny enough, toad was still saying “thank you for gathering my sheep” (or something like that) I hate those sheep

After getting the harder of the 2 power moons, I ground-pounded and destroyed any sherms remaining.
When I didn’t have enough time to get to the other side, I went back to the non-vanishing road.
Tip: if you know you’re going to run out of time, go back.
Breakdown Road drained my hopes of 100%.
Getting the Moon from the 100 point jump rope challenge is still one that i can't compete
That breakdown road was the first time a Nintendo game (or any game) made me cry of anger. I was trying for like an hour, and then I finally made it to the end of the long jump bit, and I looked behind me and the thing didn't even follow me. The second time I cried of anger was against that damn secret final boss of Octo Expansion

Actually I beat it on my first try by doing a glitch with the frogs at the beginning of the level to skip darker side entirely. And that's no lie. But when I played the level normally, I beat it on my 57th try.

darker side is pretty tough. but, there is one way to make it easier.
you know the glideon part? the game doesnt tell you, but shaking your joycons while it glides causes it to stay at the same altitude. using it, you can skip straight to the bowser portion... just remember to dive when the game catches you cheating and boots you out of the possession.
Are you seriously not going to mention the 100 jumps in new donk city. That and volleyball are the only 2 moons I haven't gotten in my first profile. My husband has tried too and they are basically infuriatingly impossible.
