    Thanks for the videos Mike! It's inspired me to pull my engine and paint my bay in the spring when the snows gone :)

  • @dk2190

    This video is awesome because it shows REALITY. Pulling a motor, wedding in new panels, body work, and paint of an engine Bay is a big under taking or very expensive to pay someone to do.
    Know what you want on a car and sticking to the plan is smart. So easy to pile huge money into our cars.

    Man it looks so sanitary in there!! The paint came out nice...can't wait to see it in the daylight! I'm excited to see all the parts left to come. Great work as always Mike. Keep it up and I'm popping a top for you!

    a practical approach....as far as the smoothing of the engine bay....nice to see some real thought put into a car.....not just turning it into a money pit...valuable lesson learned...thanks.

      @HOUSEOFDULA  6 лет назад

      Heck yeah! No regrets not smoothing it. No show car here. But still very clean under the hood.

  • @alecberlin2792

    I love that youre doing the same stuff me and my friend are doing to his 89. We just laid down filler primer on the engine bay (we smoothed it by hand without scott rod panels, everything from the firewall to the core support flows together as one). Next step is installing the new clutch on his 94 cobra engine we got for it, then we'll final paint, clear, and wet sand the engine bay, wrap and wire tuck, and FIRE IT UP!

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  7 лет назад

      Right on! Did you guys fab the panels by hand / fill the holes? I thought about trying to fab out my own as well.

  • @scottroe1087
    @scottroe1087 7 лет назад

    Mike,
    first off great job brother! looks a hundred times better. you can take the tape off around 20 to 25 minutes and I'd recommend that cause you don't want the paint to fully dry and possibly pull off with the tape at a later time. that's just a tip for the future if you choose to use it but looks great either way. Secondly, you're right on the smooth panels it's all about budget and what you see fit for your ride. No they are not a necessity and you can always go back later and do it. it's no biggy brother so don't let anybody deter you from doing what you see fit for your budget and build. Awesome work again and man you got me itching to get back to my fox and comet lol... thanks again for posting up these awesome videos

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  7 лет назад +1

      Appreciate the comment Paul. If anyone is second guessing the panels its me! lol Trying to be money conscious but deep down I'd like those panels smoothed. I "ALMOST" went as far as trying to fab my own (free since I have thick spare sheet laying around) but even then I need a good brake to get the bends right etc...So I just decided to clean it all up a bit. But man, after the tuck its CRAZY how many holes ford put in those panels. Swiss cheese.

    • @scottroe1087
      @scottroe1087 7 лет назад

      Mike Dula yeh I understand wanting to do it yourself for sure. I'm not sure what Ford was thinking with all those holes but I was in the same boat as soon as you get everything out of it then you see them. honestly you'd probably get rid of a lot of small ones with plug welds and a welding spoon

    Tip, you could have use cheap aluminum fold wrap on the ac lines and hoses and harness. It works real good. Good job on your engine bay.

    another cool video Mike! Nice to see the project moving along.Couple of suggestions. You can wrap things like the booster, compressor, lines, etc. in tin foil. It is much easier than paper and forms better. you can also move the vacuum tree to the inner fender and extend the lines. . you can also move the MAPsensor down towards the tunnel. i'd also would have primed the surfaces s first to make sure the paint doesnt flake.you can get replacement OEM stickers fom LMR or National Parts Depot.The fuel pump is probably a 255lph which may not be enough with the turbo. I'd go 340 but your dyno tuner will be able to tell you if its leaning out.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  7 лет назад

      Thanks Mike, man we debated using primer or not. We'll see how it holds up. I used the same technique on my Torino and its helps up very well for years. Decided to stick with what I know. Hopefully wont bite me in the end. Foil is a great great idea. would have worked much better. Wish I had thought of that. The pump is an aeromotive stealth 11540, its actually 340lph www.summitracing.com/tx/parts/aei-11540/overview/ just looked it up. And good call about the vacuume lines. I might move them. The honestly dont bother me too much, I want "some" things to be accessible if I need to work on it. Thanks for all the advice!

    Looks good, I always enjoy refinishing the engine bays. Just wanted to share something I started doing, I have been using very fine sand paper to sand the metal air conditioner lines, brake lines, etc., then going over them with Mothers Metal Polish. It's incredible how it makes them look like they're chrome. Try it and see what you think, it literally only takes minutes and changes the look totally.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  7 лет назад

      Awesome! I was thinking of doing the same, and taking some time because you can polish the ac compressor the same way. Its right up top and the FIRST thing looked at. Think I'll try this out. appreciate the tip!

    CHEERS!! looks so much better doing the same. a9l ready to go in good thing you have cruise in your car mine did not so have it had to add speed sensor ,maybe yours is messed up cause you said your cruise does not work . and make sure you hook up fuel pump to computer just a couple wires did mine already . the ron francis harness for conversion is nice at LMR it has all the plugs allready crimped so you dont need a crimper. good luck bro love the channel keep up the good work.

  • @raheem8858

    How is the paint holding up? Could you have sprayed a couple coats of base primer on it before spraying the gloss black paint?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 лет назад

      Paint has held up perfect. No scratches or flaking. Tough. You could primer it, some adhesion promoter. Would not hurt especially if bare metal. My scuff clean and paint method is holding up.

    Hey Mike, paint job is good from what I can see in my phone. 2 things. Did u fix ur camber, & if u had to sell 1 of ur cars, which 1 would u sell? I know u really have a connection with the Torino, but u really have to feel a special connection with the Mustang, after all of this. I can see u really like the Mustang as u should, u did a good job on it. Anyway great video, waiting to see this car running, God Bless

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  7 лет назад

      Hey Marty. Yes, the camber was fixed perfectly after the caster/camber plates. And. GOOD GOOD question about which car I'd keep. Its a very hard question, that strangely I often think about. Ive really fallen in love with my mustang and I'm close to touching and working on almost EVERY piece front to rear. i do love this car. I love both. I'd fight tooth and nail to keep them both, but if a gun were to my head I'd keep the Torino. Id hold a long term sentimental value, its classic, and I cut my teeth on it. Everything I do to the mustang is because Ive done it before and learned on the Torino. It also hold are rarity/classic'ness to it. I'll be honest after the mustang is turbo'd. The Torino is going to get a lot of love it needs. BIG BLOCK 460 stroker. Thanks for the question Marty, god bless too.

  • @svtpower03
    @svtpower03 6 лет назад

    It came out good. Would look better if it was painted body color of the car. I painted my engine bay with color matched spray paint and then some clear cost me about $70.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  6 лет назад

      I agree. I wanted it a nice clean black. IF I had to do it over id do the scott rod pans, then color match. Shes no show car, built to be driven. But I kinda wish I smoothed the bay while I was at it.

    • @svtpower03
      @svtpower03 6 лет назад

      HOUSE OF DULA yeah I didn’t smooth my bay or put any panels in just cleaned it up and painted it body color. All that money and time for smoothing can go towards go fast parts lol. This coyote swap is expensive enough! Lol
