@@AirplayReactions i was there when Paid In Full hit. Monster album. The 12 inch remix of Paid in Full 7minutes of madness mix needs to be checked out next.
back when you didnt need video girls you had ur crew in the video and everybody on the street shout out to Jamaica ave brings back memories strong island stand up
So much in this song. As you pointed out, there is hip hop before Rakim, and hip hop after Rakim. Changed the game. Love Flav being there and can anyone tell me, is that Biz Markie hanging at the courts where Flav was dancing? I swear that's him chillin. Thank you for engaging in these gems. I just watched your vid on Ain't no half steppin' which is also gold. Nobody ever points out that Em quotes BDK, so pick a BC date cuz your history in Murdergram Deux. I have seen Rakim live a couple times and he is so good. Thank you for this reaction, it speaks to me. I'm an Old Head from the Bay so I feel a little like I know you two lol especially with your musical tastes. I have so much to share with you and learn from you and it feels like I have similar experiences growing up. My pops turned me on to so much of the music you review, but hip hop was mine. I found your Airplay Beats channel first and have watched a good amount there, didn't even know abut this channel til today. Both channels are fire. Of the many many reactions I've watched around the webs, it was you two that made speak out for the first time. Yes, this is my first time to comment on ANY video. I think y'all might be in Sac and so I say, big ups from the Bay. thank you for your variety, but thank you so much for the old skool. I've subbed both channels - thanks KJ
Thanks for rocking with us my friend. Yes we are from sac. Send us an email and connect with us. I have it posted on the other page in the description. Have a great weekend!!
1986...I was 10 years old, instinctively thought that he was flowing...it wasn't a terminology. Honestly, Big Daddy Kane came before this...Rakim is the One
Why do you think old oldheads like me. That watched the rap hip/hop game from the beginning. Just can't get into today's rap. Personally, it died for me when Tupac passed. I'm so grateful I got to go to a show of the first Def Jam tour in 87. Run DMC, Whodini, Erik B & Rakim, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Slick Rick & i think Roger & Zapp. It was one of the best concerts I've been to.
Please do Microphone Fiend Rakim was also the first one that would turn some of his lines and words into actual songs He said you'll be one of those 7 emcees because in the song My melody he had a line " ill take 7 emcees put them in a line then add 7 more brothers that think they can rhyme it will take 7 more before I go for mine THAT'S 21 EMCEES ATE UP AT THE SAME TIME FUN FACT when he said in this song " you can get a smack for this" EPMD came back with you gots to chill and said " smack me and Ill smack you back" and that started the little beef between EPMD and Rakim which Erick Sermon said he gladly ended it ASAP before Rakim destroyed him lol cause Ra came back in Follow the leader after EPMD said It's like a dig em smack smack me and Ill smack you back" Rakim said a rapper said dig em i never dug em he couldn't follow the leader llong enough so I drug em" lol EPMD said that's it Im good lol

Slappin' hard core rap! Omg I love it! LL was the first hardcore rapper imo. Rock The Bells.
GOD M.C. indeed. The innovator of the inside out and a-b-a Rhyme schemes!!! Kane did it right and innovated some more!

What can be said that hasn’t already said about this song cut and album, i’m 58 and was about 20 when this came out. Changed everything
Eric B/Rakim, BDP, & Public Enemy were always together during that time; They became the defacto 'Vanguard' of H/H for that time.
my homie breakdancing is my hero. look at them all thugged out with the boombox…
All time classic.
I had to hit that sub button! If yall didn’t already, check out As the Rhyme Goes On! His flow was ridiculous!

Flava Flav wad there cuz they were under Rush management (Russell Simmons) and toured together
The Jesus MC, like BC/AD: before and after Rakim.
The very first time that a rapper was no longer a rapper!
