You must not have been watching GH for very long is you think this is the best. It was good, but there are such better stories they've done over the years.
I remember when I was dying and in a coma (3x) I would hear a priest come in to give me my last rites. I would be so sad, crying internally not wanting to die. I fought hard and God gave me a 2nd chance. Seeing this brings tears to my eyes and and I remember the horrific trauma I endured and to hear the priest prepare me for my new journey. Still chills me. At least in General Hospital Mike was surrounded by family and love. I was ALL ALONE and scared. God bless ALL who have to endure such a hard and painful time in life. I loved the scenes of Mike preparing for the end. Thank you General Hospital for making it as graceful and beautiful as you could.
Thank you RUclips and GH. I saw the espoide. I am encountering someone slowly dying and needs Last Rite. This was something that I needed to see. I asked the hospital to have the Chaplain to perform Last Rite for my love one. Thank you GH you are really helping people and your audience 🙂 Wonderful
This scene is even more beautiful because Michael nor Josslyn are biologically related to Mike and Mike loved both of them unconditionally. What a beautiful man Mike will forever be. 💓
@@heavenhancock2002 In the show he is still not biologically related to them. Michael is AJ's son and Josslyn is Jacks. Not Sonny's, but he loved them the same.
The Holy Bible talks about wars, famines, pestilences, and natural disasters in the last days. It also talks about a false christ and his mark that people will have to take in order to buy and sell. That is almost here. Everything God prophesied will come to pass. Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, is the only way to salvation and Heaven. The Holy Bible says that you are a sinner and come short of God's glory. But Jesus Christ loves you and went to the cross to die for your sins so that you could be saved. The Holy Bible "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). Your good works cannot save you. Your water baptism cannot save you. Sacraments cannot save you. Your church or religion cannot save you. Only trusting Jesus Christ and his shed blood can save you. Believe on Jesus Christ today and be saved! "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" - Romans 3:23 KJV "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." - Romans 5:8-9 KJV "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Romans 10:9 KJV "[Jesus Christ] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace" - Ephesians 1:7 KJV "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

This show has shared in the most caring way, the end of life experiences in the shows "real time". I wrote in, the day of Mike passing, the Courtney addition was a great touch also. In 1983 my mom passed , a feminine cancer, on the last day of her life we had her taken to hospital. In a coma for 3wks, she set up in bed when my older cousin walked in"she said what are U doing her Larry?" Then back yo comma. Her sis called, While talking to Aunt Jerry, I said she is going going gone. From her feet up she turned white across her face to top of head her soul left her body. My sis + one other person saw this happen. This maybe TMI, certainly never shared this info before. The whole script touched my heart in a good manner. Thank U all.
This so reminds me of when my mother-in-law died from cancer. We were all in her nursing home room. One of her brothers, her nephew and his family, her sister, my sister-in-law, my husband, and me. Everyone had a chance to say goodbye, and she was still lingering and in pain. I leaned over and told her everyone is here, you are surrounded by love, it's ok now, you can let go, and when you get to heaven, say hello from me to your husband, and my grandfathers, and send them my love, and take my love for you with you, I'll take care of your son, I promise. It was about 15 minutes later she took her last breath and passed away. She just needed someone to tell her it was ok to just let go, that heaven and family are waiting for you. So... I've been crying everyday that they've been playing Mike's epic death scenes. It's hitting close to home for me. My husband died suddenly, and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye like this. Today I smelled his canned tobacco, several times. He died 161 Saturdays ago, there's none of it here. I guess he knew watching this is like how his mother died, and it's making me cry extra. I've cried everyday since he died. I hope they each win an Emmy for this performance. I know this is one of only four soap operas left, but Sonny and Mike could even beat Susan Lucci from back in the day. Good luck on the Emmy, you are earning it. 🖤💔 Goodbye Wojo.
I watched this on TV & cried like a baby & still do every time I see it. I'm going to miss you Mike you were the best. Sonny is going to have a hard time with this now but he has his family with him and I hope & pray he let's them in & help him.

What a touching scene. Heartwarming acting by all. One of the best scenes ever done on General Hospital, Mike nearing death and being surrounded by loved ones and a priest.

I cried thru this whole episode. It reminded me of my father 3 years ago when he passed. This is a soap opera, BUT also reality. I am so glad that they showed how this affects loved ones. I was just like SUNNY, only I did not have the family support which made it more difficult. I remember my dad asked me what was the difference between GOD and JESUS. I told my father that GOD was like santa claus. He did not know GOD, but before he closed his eyes I asked him to say JESUS IS LORD and he asked why and I said anyone who calls on the name of JESUS will be saved and he did. IT WAS WELL WITH ME. I LOVE THIS SHOW BEEN WATCHING FOR MANY YEARS. THANK GOD FOR BEING MORE ETHICAL. OH and NELL reminds me of my daughter-in-law to the tee. She literally drove me to the psychologist. Anybody that can lie on someone the way she did was criminal. This show really replicates my life and that's why i'm so attached. Right now I don't have relationship with my son b/c of her going on 11yrs. My son chose her and her lies over me a single parent. I know KARMA will come back to those who despitefully use you.
One thing I regret was not asking our parish monseigneur not stopping by my parent's house to give my mother this special sacrament. My sister and I went to Mass sporadically... usually Christmas and Easter...but my mom was a devout Catholic and went every Sunday wth my dad, who was Presbyterian, not even RC lol.
I understand your point in regards to the character of Kristina and as much as I love Lexi Ainsworth as an actress and I have no doubt she would kill her scenes the character of Kristina has never been stable, reliable or close with anyone since her teenage years except when forced to ? With the exception of maybe Michael? She's usually too self absorbed and in her own world(accept her scenes at Charlie's pub a few years ago).....even with a recast it was the same way and she really hasn't been around Mike onscreen so I'm not really missing her onscreen now! People are complaining that it was Josslyn in these scenes and not Kristina but I think the scenes with Josslyn were a smart and beautiful choice.I also think the actor's that play Mike and Josslyn are probably very very close in real life!? If it were my children saying goodbye to their step grandfather(it is not the case for us because I'm not divorced or remarried) but if it were I'd hope they'd have a close beautiful relationship with their extended family because my dad and father in law are both gone? Blood doesn't matter to kids hearts even neighbors because grandparents to them and love is in the heart! So I would hope my children would love someone like a grandparent and have a beautiful relationship with them and get a beautiful goodbye and not be judged or told you shouldn't get the chance you're not really part of the family it's only reserved for real grandchildren! That is so cruel and hurtful on so many levels because kids don't always understand the difference!

When it comes to social issue storylines , no one can top General Hospital. Period
True, they have dealt with some tough ones.
Even if the actors weren't Catholic, very refreshing to see them actually reciting the Lord's Prayer.
Everybody calls that the last rites but it is known in the Catholic Church is the sacrament of the sick and it is given to people or an eminent death
It is not only for those who are about to die , but for anyone who is very sick.
No, Last Rites is correct. It combines three sacraments, penance, communion and the anointing of the sick.
