That feta looked wonderful. We don’t generally get those kinds of sizes here in the UK. We don’t typically have big fridges, or storage capacity for large quantities of food - or big families to feed! - so ours tend to be those teensy little packets just big enough for one small-ish salad. I’m always fascinated by the sheer amount of food people can and do purchase in the US. (And if you are, like me, interested in seeing how other cultures deal with putting food on their family’s table, I can recommend “Our Small Footprint” which is an Australian homestead channel. Very different to most of the US ones but really fascinating because of that!) My first time here and I’m looking forward to seeing your channel grow - good luck with it, I enjoyed this one!

      I LOVE Our Small Footprint!
Areas of the US (like where I live) have such extreme weather you can't get anything remotely local or fresh for less than a kings ransom in the winter. We are literally within 2-3 generations of our land being settled, homesteaded. My friend's grandparents told the stories of settling, breaking ground and growing the only food to carry you through to spring. And with short growing seasons.....! Homesteading is kind of the hot term for living the only lifestyle and food relationship so many people here know.
I have lived in a town in the US where it was 1.5 hours to a grocery store with produce that wasn't limp and horrible.... let's alone anything organic. It's an interesting country!
PS. One of my favorite memories of England was driving home from work and buying fresh veg at the end of the drive in a honor pay box. Dirt still on. 🙂

I prefer a waxy potato such as red or white for canning instead of a starchy potato such as russet. Less cloudy in the jar and seem to hold up better in the canning process.

Your videos are so helpful because we have only ordered from Azure twice now and are still learning about their products. I’d love to see your potato soup recipe with ranch seasoning. I watched another haul where you mentioned using Azure’s hash brown potatoes to make potato soup…we just got those potatoes from them and would love that recipe as well!

Azure Food's Big company in Oregon is very lucky to be running the company after it Burnt down. As the community pulled together to build the company enough to get it onto it's feet it's going as no one even understood the company was a loss. Many food processing plants are gone for good if people don't pull together our country will be worse then a depression.

Good morning I'm a new subscriber and stumbled on you through this video! I just started using Azure standard 4 months ago and I'm really loving it I wasn't sure about it until I started watching People's videos. With month to month inflation on butter and produce being 42% this month and projected to be that high again next month stalking up and canning is definitely the way to go right now. I look forward to seeing any of your cooking videos on the potatoes as well. Thanks for the share have a good one!

Love your channel and watching your hauls! I buy the Nancy’s sour crème in the 6 pack..keep it upside down in the fridge .. last wayyy beyond the date.. don’t know why that works so well but it was a tip I got years and years ago and it makes sour cream and cottage cheese stay so nice for so long. I also don’t understand if you’re going to watch somebody’s RUclips you feel like you can be so critical. It’s a sad thing that has become so common place.

In Germany the apartment fridge was enough to hold possibly 3 days worth of food so living near Aldi helped. Family in America have these ginormous refrigerators filled to the brim.

Oh wow!! It’s crazy how different it is depending where you live. We like to buy in bulk to save money but I don’t know what I would do with a fridge any smaller. Mine is actually a bit smaller than a normal homes fridge too!

We always buy the 6 pack of sour cream and cream cheese. If you use either in baking or soups, you can freeze them and use when you need them. Not really good for using on bagels or cream cheese cake if you freeze. You can take an emersion blender and blend the thawed product to get it creamy again.

    • @CalveyHomestead

    • @CalveyHomestead

I do get them often (mainly to can for later so I’m stocked up) I must of misspoke because I would be drowning in carrots if I ordered them every month 🤣🤣
We used canned carrots as an easy side dish a lot. I love pouring them into a pan and add some butter and brown sugar. Yum!!

I’m in Canada and I wonder about the shipping prices from Azure. Oh, and the parchment you bought you can get the same brand from Costco, it’s really great. Keep up the great videos♥️🇨🇦

Thanks for sharing your haul! I love these videos.
We switch from pink salt to Redmond salt because the pink salt is mined using slave labor. I know we can't monitor how all of our food is harvested and transported, but that really bothered me. And we went away from typical sea salt because of the micro-plastics.

It is definitely something I need to look into. I might have to look for specific brands that are fair trade. I’m not sure about the Azure brand. Typically, Azure is pretty good about carrying products that are good for us and for the producers of the product. I may have to write azure and ask.
