Sorry I disagree I watch many of Gresham Lectures and indeed I was looking forward to this one However the garbled presentation paired with the way the voice rose and fell without any predictability meant I only lasted under 5 minuets
@@MattHudsonAtx I'm not talking about the content, of course, but about the way of talking. So fast and with a strong accent. To me it seems inappropriate for a lecture of such level.
I have hearing difficulties and some presenter's speaking styles are harder for me to discern than others. I didn't have too many problems here, apart from when she moved away from the mike. Closed captions can help.
@@tonyevans9999 of course they can. My point is that they shouldn't have to. She isn't the only one, by the way. The habit of speaking at high sperd is gaining more and more ground. Maybe this time I just was in the mood of underlining it.
Holly is a great lecturer and Math presenter. I know her from numberphile channel. Thank you for explaining Maryam’s work!

This woman speaks like a teenager youtuber, not so proper for delivering an academic speach
She is a professor of mathematics. What you got?

I guess fast and accented are subjective. She sounds like any English speaker to me.
