Far too often, teachers confuse slow learning with lack of intellect. Even Einstein admitted to being slow to grasp new concepts, but few people claim to solve problems harder than Einstein. There is too much of a rationalist/reason craze, and almost no emphasis on empirical intuition and the problem stems from biases in psychology and cognitive science, an intellectually lazy public, and big business who promotes adaptive/training speed as opposed to development of intuition within complex skill sets.
Such an inspiration to young minds R.I.P
She brought back mathematics to its homeland (Persia) after its long journey for centuries. She was Aryan Mehr- Light Of the Aryans. May Ahura Mazda blesses her soul.
Just so very sad. Let's hope her example encourages more women to study mathematics, although she's an inspiration not just to women but to all of us.

Whenever i see someone as being 'the first woman' or 'the first person of color' to win some historic award, i sometimes wonder if they lowered the bar for them just so the organization can finally show some sort of evidence of being 'inclusive'.

@@DK-py2qx when she was in high school she won at the international mathematical olympiad twice...once silver and once gold...in the second one she got a perfect score...this is incredibly difficult...there are other Fields medallists who did not get a perfect score...this kind of shows that she was indeed one of the best mathematical talents of our generation.

Zteck, Maryam was no slow learner . She also didn't have a partner in her studies as Einstein had(his wife.. It is still up to debate who produced the two papers released in 1905 and 1915). Maryam totally understood her theories and just needed to find a way to prove them, where as Einstein didn't have a complete understanding of these two papers... After these two papers he didn't produce any more new ideas the way Stephen Hawking did. In fact he kept making contradictory statements about his papers! Maryam three years after her death still is producing papers and proving theories. So I wouldn't jump into comparing a beautiful mind like hers to another ambiguous very publicized and almost romantically advertized male. Also the state of the general intellect of public is just fine .Having said that Einstein was a brilliant scientist too.
I guess you don't know much about physics then. And in general, I don't think it's a good strategy to bring down one giant in order to appreciate the other.
