My Dear Precious Meg, did you realize how many women's lives were changed because of your music and the words that had been unspoken for so long? I am also 75 now and had it not been for you, Chris and Olivia, I know I would never have lived the full life I have now......thank you. Will always love you.
Oh I so agree .... again and always and evermore ... Meg and Cris may have created their music from and for different circumstances than those in my life, but since I discovered them in the late 1970's, they have been such constant companions and such sources of comfort in all my journies and crises and losses and healing .....
Thank you so much for posting this. I didn’t get to hear Meg live or even when she was still performing. So, every time I come across one of her gems, I always listen. It warms my heart and fills my soul to listen to her music 🫶.
Oh, my, does this take me back. I saw Meg perform at Mount Holyoke College when I was at Smith and was fortunate enough to meet her. I miss her and hope she is well.
Very rare. I wonder if anyone will come up with the TV show they all did together, Organic Blueberry Pie-- I think it was a cable access or a local cabel show in California.
I have always wondered how to get a copy of it - it might have been on KCET? LA public TV. And it was absolutely marvelous . Can’t remember the year early 70’s maybe? Near the time when the women sang and Lily Tomlin performed at the Los Felix theater ...
And a year after this concert they received a demo tape from Melissa Ethridge who was a struggling performer in California. Olivia Records rejected her application.
@JamieAndersonMusic you would have thought that I would have figured that out by the lyrics alone! I have been listening to it over and over since yesterday. Meg is timeless.

❤❤❤
if anyone had any idea that she would leave the music scene completely we would've recorded every single coffee house concert we'd ever gone to.
@Brown Girl It's a yoga tradition, so not Buddhist. More like Vedic philosophy, often called Hinduism.
If that's not the truth.
So say we all!
Such an inspiration to me when I was young. So unbelievably talented.
Does my soul well to hear this music again.

Beautiful times when we could still celebrate who we are.
I miss her music so much! I wish her well.
Meg's music was/is transformational. so affirming and speaking to women's experiences that had not been heard before.
S U C H a gorgeous voice and lovely, lovely woman. Oh how I miss her!

Jamie, I suspect we have lots and lots and lots of company. So sad she stopped performing. Those were the days, eh?

Of all the women of Olivia she had the best voice and greatest talent.
One of my favorites too.
@@JamieAndersonMusic I know the pain of not being accepted as much as any woman does because I am rejected by the very women that I identify with.
Meg your voice is Devine ❤hope you are in good health an bliss🙏🙏🙏

Someone could do a thesis comparing the early women singers to the current ones.... Aside from $$$, what are the difference s?
More!!!
That's all I have. :)

@Brown Girl Not sure of the year, but I'd guess 1973.
I hope she is happy with however it is she is spending her life off stage.
And a year after this concert they received a demo tape from Melissa Ethridge who was a struggling performer in California. Olivia Records rejected her application.
They rejected a lot of artists.
@@JamieAndersonMusic Why so?
@@pmangum6879 don't know. I didn't work there.
Where is my sweet darlin woman?
Do you mean that literally or are you talking about the song? If the song, this is the only recording of her that I have.
What is the name of this song?
"I Wish You Well."
@JamieAndersonMusic you would have thought that I would have figured that out by the lyrics alone! I have been listening to it over and over since yesterday. Meg is timeless.
@@ZwiftingWithGranny I had to look it up. 😊And I agree, she's timeless.
