ALSO!! to answer the Mythos thing. The Zero and ZX series like using Mythological creatures and figures to name their bosses. Prometheus and Pandora are brother and sister robots, basically the main villains psychologically abused dirty workers. Other characters include a group of 4. Helios, Tethys, Atlas, and Siarnaq, while most are Greek(?) figures, Siarnaq is the odd one out (he's a direct reference to an older character Phantom who was ALSO the odd one out of his group of 4, The Guardians. However Helios, Tethys, Atlas, AND Siarnaq are ALL titan moons of Jupiter. These guys inherent pretty much the power and combat abilities of The 4 Guardians from 200 years ago: Harpuia, Leviathan, Fefnir, and Phantom. All of them being based on mythological creatures except Phantom who is simply just phantom inspired. Mega Man does this every now n then with character names lol
Also Also lmao: "Mega Man" as a character is interesting, especially by the time ZX comes around. Mega Man in the first series (what we refer to as "Classic") was a young robot boy named Rock, built as a housekeeping robot that wanted to fight for justice and asked his creator Dr. Light to be upgraded. Thus Mega Man (RockMan in japan) was born. Any title that is JUST "Mega Man" (i.e. Mega Man 2, Mega Man 5, Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man 11 etc.) are classic. Classic games are typically lighter in tone with some occasionally thought-provoking ideas and plots but usually happier. Mega Man X is the next series set 100 years after "classic." The main character is "X" (Mega Man X in full). He's not the same character as Mega Man in the classic series. He's an older robot built specifically to fight but he's a new type of robot completely able to have his own free-will and free-thought, to do what he wants to, aside of what his programming is. Classic robots had the ability to think but would ALWAYS listen to their program and complied with what their set purpose was. The X series is a bit of a darker tone than classic is but it's not TOO serious either, this is the series when Zero is introduced. X and Zero are war partners that are the main characters of the X series. 100 more years pass after some long wars when Zero sealed himself, feeling guilty of him being one of the original "bad guys" that spread a virus that infected tons of more robots including the main X series villain. Zero is almost a dystopia and even darker in tone than the X series was. Zero is technically not named Mega Man but the title of the game is Mega Man Zero just to make sure people know what brand their playing lol. 200 years pass after tons of war and terrible futures, ZX now happens. The world is recovering, times are almost peaceful, all the heroes of the past have basically been laid to rest, until of course another bad guy comes up. Past heroes (and even antagonists) are taken from Cyberspace (robot heaven essentially) and turned into these little rocks called "Models." A Chosen one can use a Model to become "A" Mega Man. So for instance, Mega Man Model Z, Mega Man Model X, Mega Man Model H, even the villains are labeled as Mega Man. Anybody who is a chosen one that is able to use those rocks called "Biometals" can fuse with them to become a Mega Man. Vent and Aile are the chosen one who becomes the Mega Man to use Models Z and X combined, creating Mega Man ZX. In Advent you play as either Grey or Ashe who finds a biometal Model A. They are Mega Man Model A, since the old protags still have models Z and X (these models are of course Zero and X btw, they are still conscious but their power is handed to whoever their user is). about 5000 years pass and we get to Mega Man Legends. This series was created around the times of Mega Man X and set itself so far into the future to not have any major ties to old games so it can pretty much be its own thing. There's not much more confusing "Mega Man" titles. You play as a boy named Rock Volnutt (Localized as MegaMan Volnutt in english). Rock, sharing a name with the original 1st Mega Man but not the same character of course, is a young teenage boy in pretty peaceful times of the planet Earth (Or Terra). He in a past life was "Mega Man Trigger" and was a part of a huge hierarchy that almost no longer exists thanks to all the time that passed, he was a high-ranking member on the space colony Eurasia, ran by The Master, that all of humanity resided on for eons until Terra was to be inhabitable again. He had a battle and was so destroyed he had to be reset to a baby state. By now robotics have come so far that they're exactly the same as humanity, They can be biologically conceived, given birth to, grow up, and die of illness and old age. The only major difference is they can swap out their body parts almost like surgery. There are other "Mega Man"s that were a part of the Elysium hierarchy, Bureaucratic Units such as one of the antagonists Mega Man Juno is an example. Times passed so much that we don't see many of them active any more. That sums up "Mega Man" in the "robotics" timeline. In the Network timeline which is Battle Network and Star Force it's much more simplier. MegaMan.exe is Network Navigator (NetNavi for short) of the young 5th grader Lan Hikari. He is a computer program that like every other NetNavi can be a close friend that you're with all the time, can delete viruses (the main enemies in this RPG series) and even NetBattle other NetNavis either for fun or for a real dangerous threat. He is modeled after a young boy the same age as Lan. There's a twist on who MegaMan.exe REALLY is but I'll let you play and see for yourself, every Mega Man DOES have a real name of their own that isn't just "Mega Man" of course, it's the easiest way to differentiate WHICH Mega Man you're talking about. 200 years pass after Battle Network and the main focus on everything being controlled via the Net has moved onto Radio Waves and EM viruses are now the problem instead of network viruses. The main characters are Geo Stelar, a young depressed boy who isolated himself from everybody after losing his father in a space related accident, he's distant and doesn't go to school in fear of making friends only to lose them. One day while he's out, he gets handed this thing called a "visualizer" from one of his father's co-workers, Aaron Boreal, he figures the kid might like to have it. He goes out hoping to see his dad with the visualizer (fancy looking glasses) when he visits his usual spot at night to star gaze. Suddenly a flash of light happens and strikes Geo Stelar, the Visualizer can now SEE the radio waves and the EM World, the cause of that flash was an EM Alien known as Omega-Xis (or just Mega.) Mega quickly explains that he's a runaway with a key that these aliens called "FMians" really want, so they an invade and attack earth even destroying it. Geo is very panicked and doesn't want anything to do with anybody but Mega kinda pulls him along quickly and forces them to fuse together forming "Mega Man." Geo and Mega are the Star Force's series duo that fuse together as 1 being (still 2 conscious people though, Mega's head is on Geo's left hand). while Lan and MegaMan.exe are the Battle Networks protagonists that work together in 2 separate worlds, the Real World and the Net. Sorry for the ramble I'm a huge nerd lol. But THAT is the title and characters of the name Mega Man.
They aren't making more megaman games, every now and then, something comes out but it's so small or game compilations. Megaman ZX is such a cool game, the stages are great and are all connected with each other, this happens way too into the future of classic megaman, and Megaman X. Megaman lore goes hard btw, going from the more family friendly stuff from the classic series, to humanity going downhill because of the creation of reploids in megaman X, and humanity almost goes extinct in the Zero series, which leads to the events of Megaman ZX, where humans discriminate Reploids now. This is all in one main continuity It's a weird cycle that humanity goes.
There's so much amazing Megaman music, I couldn't even begin to recommend anything apt. You've heard some X, Storm Eagle and Armored Armadillo stages are way up there on that ost. All of the X OST are real strong, with perhaps Blaze Heatnix stage going the hardest to an almost exhausting degree.
Megaman is a MASSIVE franchise with 2 “main” stories (classic and X series) that spinoff into MANY other stories (Megaman Zero/ZX series, Battle Network/Starforce series, and Legends, with a few one-shot spin-offs that I won’t mention). For Jesse specifically, if I had to recommend a STARTING point, I’d probably recommend Megaman X1 or X4 (via the X Legacy collection); those are o the easier side and X1 in particular you’d LOVE the soundtrack.
X1 to get the core charm of the most prevalent "Jump, Dash and Shoot" gameplay, then X4 to fall in love with Zero, I'd say. God knows falling in love with Zero is required, not optional. XD
Mega Man pretty much put video game music on the map, and even through the bad games, they had banger OSTs. Heck even the wildly underappreciated X8 had AMAZING tracks like Bamboo Pandamonium's stage 2 and Jakob's Elevator.
Mega Man music much like the franchise is ALL over the place in tempo, genre, instruments etc. It's pretty similar to Sonic in that regard where the music is almost always praised lol. I love this franchise a lot. The two songs you reacted two are for a half water half ice stage, and then a boss battle between 2 of the main antagonists of the ZX series. They're very very good songs and the ZX and ZX Advent OST has a ton of great songs. Misty Rain (Area I's theme) is a very somber song as well while it also has places like Area M that are very buildup heavy since it's a final area, then Area A (Green Grass Gradations) is a very upbeat song for the first area. I'd ABSOLUTELY recommend reacting to more Mega Man music. If you want my input, I'd say react to some Battle Network or Star Force if you like GBA and DS music. Some ones like Battle With Myself (Battle Network 4) or Great Battlers (Battle Network 3) are great, and some stuff like Shooting Star (Star Force 1s title) and maybe Wave Battle (Star Force 1s Boss Theme). Hope you get around to some more and enjoy!
This channel absolutely NEEDS more Megaman. Pretty much the whole franchise has always been highly regarded for the soundtracks, I mean, the original name is Rockman, ffs lol.
ZX is the first game, ZX Advent is the sequel. Timeline goes Classic saga X saga ZX saga Legends So, being late into the timeline and coming and coming out in 2006, the composers went all over the place. The first stage is a rabbashing green field, and the music is very upbeat, but more than making your adrenaline flow, it's like the music wants you to be happy for being there
Context for ZX, all of the Megaman games are the same universe, just different time settings. Base Megaman being what most know of the series with Dr Light and Dr Wiley, Megaman X being many years after the conclusion of the base series, followed by Megaman Zero which again takes place long after the conclusion of the X series (you did a react to this one actually but didn't remember it, Cannonball), and finally Megaman ZX (Advent) after civilization rebuilds from the conclusion of the Zero series. MMZX(A) is probably the least known of the bunch due to being released without much fanfare so many weren't even aware of it's existence until the MMZ remaster they released a few years back that included the ZX games too
The ZX duology was released when Capcom was experimenting a bit more with the franchise and deviated from the originals' formula - Classic (the numbered titles) and X were straight up stage-based 2D platformers, and outside of a few spin-offs, the series stuck to that. However in the 2000s, the series ventured into other genres, starting with Legends (3D action RPG), and followed by the GBA's Battle Network (deckbuilding RPG) and Zero (blending the classic platforming with search action/Metroidvania elements). ZX and its sequel ZX Advent, then, were the successor series to the Zero games on the DS (and Battle Network got Starforce as its successor), and they went fully in on the Metroidvania/search action style gameplay. Both the Zero and ZX series weren't directly developed by Capcom, but by Inti Creates, who have become juggernauts in the 2D platforming space as top tier studio, and one thing that almost always stands out about their games is the soundtracks. Their in-house composer team is fantastic, and when they create games that are either from an established franchise (such as Mega Man here) or a spiritual successor to one (such as Bloodstained Curse of the Moon, which is a game heavily inspired by Castlevania), their soundtracks manage to blend together their own unique Inti style with the foundation laid by the original. Finally, I do agree with your comments about Mega Man having a particular 'sound', but ZX isn't the first time that the series veers away from it - games like Mega Man 8 or X4 have a whole bunch of tracks that are very different from what you'd expect (though they still have *some* that sound like you'd expect heheh)
I highly recommend Mega Man Network Transmission, my absolute favorite VGM in history. I think you’ve reacted to one of Yosuke Yasui’s works before. He’s a big part of that soundtrack.
ZX saddly only had 2 entries and left some lore open which there is a nearly ridicolous amount stretching from MM1 all the way through X and Zero into ZX and Legends. As for an absolute banger on the Music side is "Megaman Zero 2's - Depature" its interesting how much they got out of the GBA and the remastered version is certified cool
MMZX has some really good tunes. Wonder Panorama is Area F, the ice area. Other ones I like: Mountain Rider Sky High, the airbase Rockin On, boss theme Misty Rain Doomsday Device Black Burn
Megaman's main problem was they just kept churning them out in the middle of the 2000s, and most of those games were good, but the buyers only have so much money, and I don't remember seeing any adverts in the UK at least. There's bad entries but they only ever took until subsequent games to potentially see impacts that could be tied to them, the oversaturation more than a decline in quality is the main reason they didn't get more sales.
ZX series has some awesome tracks, for sure. Although Trap Phantasm is really sick, this version is from ZXA Tunes album, which is a rearranged collection. The original is very good, but this one here isn't the one that plays within the game. Think of it as more of a "Black Mages" version.
The Megaman 2 for Gameboy OST is worth listening to. I like it, many people don't, but it's worth listening to to have An Opinion on. And i typically don't like Gameboy music!

The ZX saga is such an underrated part of the MM series. They have such a cool vibe and great characters.
I'd recommend listening more to the ZX Tunes Videos more, 'cause those have the remastered and full song, which is better
Man the megaman soundtrack is amazing.
Heres some suggestion, misty Rain from megaman ZX and X vs Zero from Megaman X5
Megaman ZX is one of my favorite games on the DS, it's SO good. The music has such a unique identity within the Megaman series!
NOOOOOOOO WAY MEGAMAN ZX AHHH
I was really hoping someone would react to a song from this, and JESSE AHH
Thank youuu ;w;
This game is so nostalgic to me
Also for Megaman ZX, there are two version of the ost on RUclips
One is the normal one and the other is Tunes
Tunes is pretty much like an official remaster(+a remix during the second half of the song)
The first song you listened to was from the original ost
While the second was from tunes
What you want to listen to depends on if you want to hear the original ds ost or the official "remaster" album
ZX and ZX Advent both have S Tier music. Gotta listen to some more later.
ALSO!! to answer the Mythos thing.
Localization turns Helios into Aeolus and Tethys into Thetis. Just as a bit of a heads up, because some people may be confused. :p
ZX and Advent have some of the coolest VGMs ever made and they are lesser known games.
While yes the stage does take place in a large lake i think the song tries to go more for the ice aspect of the stage
This is all in one main continuity
It's a weird cycle that humanity goes.
TRAP PHANTASM!? SHEEESH
Timeline goes Classic saga
X saga
ZX saga
Legends
So, being late into the timeline and coming and coming out in 2006, the composers went all over the place. The first stage is a rabbashing green field, and the music is very upbeat, but more than making your adrenaline flow, it's like the music wants you to be happy for being there
Forgetting Zero Saga here
Context for ZX, all of the Megaman games are the same universe, just different time settings.
I like Ultramarine Meditation. Its one of the chillest stage themes.
hell yeah love mega man zx
MMZX has some really good tunes.
Wonder Panorama is Area F, the ice area.
Other ones I like:
Mountain Rider
Sky High, the airbase
Rockin On, boss theme
Misty Rain
Doomsday Device
Black Burn
Has anyone ever recommended Vs Zero from Mega Man Network Transmission?
No requests from MMNT at all.
Underrated banger ost
Oh you need to ear Old Life Space that song is amazing, and I think there's and extendad version
Just wanted to remind everyone that Area L exists and has a great theme. Just try to block out the memories of the Aid Kit quest, I guess.
The Inti Creates soundtracks are peak 🙏
ZX series has some awesome tracks, for sure. Although Trap Phantasm is really sick, this version is from ZXA Tunes album, which is a rearranged collection. The original is very good, but this one here isn't the one that plays within the game. Think of it as more of a "Black Mages" version.
a shame trap factory wasn't included with trap phantasm
You choose the ZXA Tunes version of Trap Phantasm, which is a remix. It's alright, of course, but you don't hear this version inside the game.
Alot of youtubers are cockky and have a superiority complex, but your dope cool personality also what gravitate people to your channel as well
Misty Rain from Mega Man ZX Wily stage 1 from Mega Man 7 or 9 Toxic Seahorse from Mega Man X3 would all be great to see you react to
Yeah. There is at least 10 Mega Man games.
The Megaman 2 for Gameboy OST is worth listening to. I like it, many people don't, but it's worth listening to to have An Opinion on. And i typically don't like Gameboy music!
Bro, you better stop joking around and listen to more Mega man ost’s and music they do not disappoint
I wanted to request some megaman X songs but the OST is just very short loops, and honestly it feels like a waste
It's all good, sometimes I'll just hear it twice if need be.
