- For the first time in 5 years I decided to give these Indy Boots a thorough cleaning and conditioning using Armstrong's All Natural leather cleaner, Bickmore's saddle soap, and Venetian leather balm. I think they came together pretty nicely!! :-D

Everyone has their style and you know more about boots than I, but I might suggest a damp deep nap towel versus running them under tap water. Love those Indys
Cant beat the Indy boot. An american classic
Don Corleone I can’t agree more my man ✌️✌️✌️
At first I was like, "what's up with this Chinese music in the background?" By about halfway through, however, I started feeling like I was on one of the mundane sidequests in Shenmue! 😁 Oddly satisfying!
hahahaha so glad it worked out that way!!!
Lol why can't a white guy use Chinese-ish music... In some ways it's reminiscent of folksy bluegrass.
Another nice video buddy.
thanks my friend!! it was fun making it!!
Well Done!
Hey I finally bought a pair of 403s. They were used on eBay but looked to be in great condition. I didn't really intend to buy them but I bid a low price and they took it. 🤣. The stitching looks like new and the soles and lifts look to be in great condition. I forgot how nice Alden's are to wear. I have a couple of pairs of shoes including some shell Norwegian bluchers that I never wear.
that's amazing, so glad you finally landed a pair, sounds like you got them at an incredible steal. wear them in good health my friend!!!!
aerosurferlv thanks brother. I put 8 miles in the other day. I get at least 4.5 miles a day and usually 5+ so they will see some use. I'm not sure if I'm walking my dog or if he's walking me. 😁
@@Kingfisher1215 damn that's a lot of walking, and good on you for doing it!!!! hahahaha yes sometimes the dogs walk us, that's ok :-D
The boots look amazing! I also know you’re a big Armstrong guy but do you prefer the Bickmore saddle soap over Armstrong Brooklyn saddle soap or would you recommend either or for chromexcel leathers ?
Yankees Fan For Life I think they both work equally well TBH!! And thank you sir!!
Who makes the gloves? beautiful
If one was inclined to get a pair of indy boots would you suggest going to a store and being sized and trying them on? Amazing video as always!
Yes if you can that’s what I’d recommend!
Hey, awesome videos. Just a quick comment, for any of your boot videos- show more detail shots of the soles, to detail the wear pattern over time, and type of sole.
thanks for your input my friend, I actually thought about that very thing while filming this one. I'll make sure to do this in future vids!!
Which Indy boot model are these and what kind of leather is that? Original or Chrome XL?
These are Chromexcel yes
Wow! Was just looking into purchasing the Venetian leather balm! These boots came out fantastic! Are you still satisfied with the leather balm? Would you recommend it for Chromexcel boots?
yessir very happy with Venetian!! it is time tested stuff and really brings out a shine on chromexcel, in fact I think Venetian works best with chromexcel
@@DalesLeatherworks have you noticed any difference between the cream and balm? It's kind of unclear to me. Which do you think gives a better shine/lustre?
@@preparetobedazled sorry I missed this! I have only ever used the balm, from what I gather it's the go-to product for CXL :-D
Josef Suhonen. They are the same thing. Depending on the “serving size” they just call it different things.
Can i use red wing leather cream neatsfoot oil blend on alden indy boot chromexcel leather?
good question! i personally would not, as neatsfoot is an animal product and can oxidize and possibly damage the leather over time
@@DalesLeatherworks Thank you for the reply.
Hey boss, since you have a million boots to compare can I ask you a sizing question? Did you size down a half from your usual? I wear a grant stone 8d and it fits perfectly but the 8d felt sloppy in the trubalance. Thinking of a 7.5d but the DC store doesn’t have the size.. what’s your $.02 thanks
i definitely recommend sizing the same in grantstone's leo compared to the alden trubalance, but there are other factors at play which can affect the fit/ looseness of the boot, mostly the uppers. for example, not all chromexcel is the same. some stretches out more than others depending on the leather's thickness and the tightness of the grain. another example is my snuff suede alden indys fit very loose compared to my calfskin indys fit snug in the same size!
@@DalesLeatherworks thanks as always!
@@DalesLeatherworks can I ask an unfair question? Ignoring the panache of the Alden’s which would you prefer to wear, the Indy in cxl or the Grant stone Ottawa in similar leather
Very impressive, can I please know the color of this Indy boots ? and it supposed to be T last right ? By the way , nice jacket and watch :)
thank you! these are brown cxl indy boots
Nice
What kind of laces are those?
these are olive laces from guarded goods www.guardedgoods.com/collections/shoe-laces/products/54-thin-round-cord-waxed-boot-laces?variant=21250547286093
@@DalesLeatherworks I just ordered a pair of these in olive. My laces on my aldens are a pain to untie. Hopefully these will improve this lol
damn those look fire! you maybe gonna send them to Brian for a resole? that heel block's life is almost over it seems.
Mistilteinn still plenty of meat to me.
yessir the heel looks worn down but it's actually been that way for a couple years now
@@calicuts909 yessir!!!
Nice leather jacket! What is the name of the jacket? Thanks :)
thank you! the one in this video is a standard wilson's leather jacket, not sure of the model! i've since upgraded to aero leather jackets!
no shoe polish?
??
Wet nice
thank you!!
Running the boots under a sink isn’t a great idea.
Can you go back to you narrating these type of videos?
haha of course! sometimes I try new things, switching back and forth between visuals and verbal narratives. coming up though I plan to do lots more talking! :-)
Great video, not the biggest fan of the Chinese music though.
thank you!! lol yeah unfortunately iMovie only has so many background music selections that are free for anyone to use, so I went with that one! next vid will be narrated though :-D
Disagree with rinsing it off in the sink.
