I really like the demos where the dog is not just standing there like a little statue. This is very realistic on how it can go--- some cooperation, some grumpiness, and then showing how some flexibility is needed on the part of the groomer. Thanks for this one!
I'm gonna be a dog groomer this month, and my fiance is getting a yorkie soon. Thank you so much for this demo! It will really help with my job and when I start grooming!
Thank you so much for coming back and responding to my request of you showing how to hold a toy breed while doing their nails, I really appreciate it. The dew claws are the most difficult to do because they're so hard to get a good grip on. I'm looking forward to your next video of you showing how to do a full shave down on him, I need that one as well ☺️👍

I have a 5yr young black pug, he gets walked for 2 hrs in the morning when I have the energy, and 20 mins in the eve. I swear that his nails are the fastest growing thing on the planet. He knows the dremel but still gives me grief, heaven help me if he sees the nail clippers! He never bites me, but it’s like wrestling a cougar!!! Trying to find a quieter nail grinder🙏❤️🐾🌻
All groomers know that many pugs are notoriously difficult. They’re even hard to restrain because of their thick, football player neck! They can slip right out of any lead just by backing up, haha!
thank you so much for the demos! I know it might not be possible, but could have someone zoom it closer to the feet next time? small dogs...I have a shih tzu
I’ve seen your sides-top-round off method videos with large dogs, but with a small dog like this are you still able to do that same progression? I couldn’t tell. Also, what do you do with small dogs when the dew claws are grown into almost a circle? I can’t really get a grinder in there and afraid to clip. Thanks for all your help.
Yes, same method just, kinda, smaller. As for the dew claw… I’ll have to make a video but basically at some point you have to pick a spot and clip. Some groomers will use wire snippers or end nippers because nail clippers may not be able to get into that space properly on a fully grown-around nail like that. You also can dremel right in to the outside of the circle… once you grind down more than halfway through the diameter of the nail, the rest kinda crumbles off. This concept is difficult to explain which is why I will have to make a video eventually. Hope that kinda helps though!
Oh, and I should add that if you’re just too nervous to go in there and work on that dew claw, I’m sure there’s a groomer who would help you out if you’re able to take your dog somewhere.
@@GoodDogGrooming Since her quick is full length (according to the pinkish strip on the side) won’t I be snipping or grinding right into the middle of the quick? Should I be prepared for a lot of blood? I truly appreciate your guidance and help.
Check out this vid, hopefully it will help answer your question: ruclips.net/video/xOTk569pXEc/видео.html I also have a “anyone can dremel” video which is a more thorough how-to!

Thanks for the comment! In my opinion Casper was the perfect demo dog precisely for that reason… because he is not “perfect”!!! 🐶😄💕
Realistic small dog demo. Your videos have helped.

Congrats! It’s the best job I’ve ever had. I hope you love it too!

Glad Casper had dewclaws. They are then hardest !!
They really are. I happen to have a dew claw vid if it’s helpful at all: ruclips.net/video/L7ZH15HNKTk/видео.html

Yes absolutely! I’m usually a one-man operation and doing the best I can to get better and better footage!
