One of the best things about this crew is how much they care about one another. Eric picking up the camera when Jay wasn’t there is so dope!! They’re family!!
Jamie is like one of my boy's. Jay is like my man. He still made me giggle.... we were together 36 year's official finally got to live together 14 year's ago (family and kids) such is life what don't kill you makes you strong miss the IDIOT R.I.P ALAN
Please do me a favor and tell Eric or Jamie to sort their "MEGA Sized Modern Home" playlist. My girlfriend and I were gonna start from the beginning on episode 1 and let RUclips auto play, but you can't because the playlist is messed up. I've commented on several of their videos, but it's still messed up. By the way, I'm glad I found your channel. I love the humor.
Nice job , they did an excellent job of matching the paint ... Silver is difficult . You folks have talent Jay...... Jamie is on another level with his ability !
I hope y'all are ok. Now a pro-tip. If you ever paint another hood. If you drill a small hole in the hood hinge and the hood. When you go to reinstall the hood. Just put your drill bit back in the two holes, install your hood bolts. It should be aligned as it was before you removed it. Excellent job on the paint and body work.
Boy am I glad to see another upload from one of the Perkins Crew - seriously been worried about you guys with all the damage from Helene that I've been seeing. I can only imagine what you must be dealing with... and it's nice to know that you are up and at 'em. Might not be a bad idea to put a body shop together, actually - something to do indoors when the weather keeps you from working on the site.
Oh c'mon, fellas - you don't have a separate building for body work or paint? You guys ARE builders, right? Seems like a challenge rather than an obstacle. - but I bet you have ENOUGH to do at the moment.
I’m a car guy and have a mind set like Jamie. I was cringing watching you do this, but I’ve been there before and it turned out pretty darn good! Hope everyone is safe. ❤
Y’all are so funny! Thanks for the laughs. Come on, I know who Chip Foose is!!! Glad I got to see what PBB and the crew were up to prior to coming over to my house to film the interview with Envision Outdoor Living products about my deck. Good job guys!
Well done - looks great! As the happy original owner of a 2011 Tacoma 4 door TRD Sport with 163,000 miles on it I can tell you that if you take care of these that they will last forever. Mine still burns less than half a quart of oil every 5000 miles. And the transmission still shifts smoothly with no slip. Of course, the paint on it looks about like yours did. I've been so pleased with my Tacoma that I bought a 2024 4Runner Limited with the same (slightly updated) drivetrain (I'm keeping the Tacoma). I'm going to treat it right and given that I'm 65 it will probably be the last vehicle I buy.
Use the palm of your hand instead of your fingers to feel high spots. Try using a tack cloth to get the dust in between coats. You'll be amazed at how much dust you get off. When you use body filler try sanding it while it's still slightly tacky otherwise it's like trying to sand concrete. Spray the hard to reach areas first so you don't have to lean over wet paint or drag a hose through it. We hope you guys are okay best regards from Clearwater Florida!
The easiest way to protect headlights from „yellowing” is to put protective foil/wrap on them.Just bought roll and stick on headlights cut tu size and that’s all. Driving with this for 4 years and it is just perfect. Also protects from road debris
I've been watching your channel for a bit. What got me to subscribe finally was you pointing to a car part and calling it the Flux Capacitor. Made my day!
I have many years doing finish work like this but mostly on yachts , from tooling for new models in a factory to side jobs repairing damage yachts. Jamie know what he’s doing , great work boys If you need a fiberglass guy that’s me started with yachts and now helicopters. If you ever in upper Michigan stop at Enstrom Helicopter factory USA made
This reminds me in the 60s as a teenager working on our 200 dollar cars a paul cassells garage.Paul’s Dad was a master mechanic, also drove stock cars at Utica rome speedway in Upstae NY. We learned a lot and had a great time. Those were great times and great memories
We are doing good, thanks! We actually went out yesterday as a crew with some chainsaws to try to help the community in Asheville and it’s just absolutely amazing. The devastation that has happened but also to see how many people are stepping up to help out it’s truly heartwarming.
Y’all are so funny! Thanks for the laughs. Come on, I know who Chip Foose is!!! Glad I got to see what you were up to prior to coming over to my house to film the interview with Envision Outdoor Living products about my deck. Good job guys! Tell Erik I am bummed his truck job trumped my shower/tub recall and door adjust jobs!
Excellent video. Goes to show how diversified the Perkins Crew truly is! Love it! P.S. 28:49 - Passenger reverse light is out. We are ALL very thankful to see you are in good spirits & safe. Love you guys!
Great job guys, next time try wet sanding with bondo, much less dust, Less sandpaper usage and smoother faster. I mean for me it worked. Literally with a bucket of water under the sandpaper. Keep it up.
I am a Korean viewer who watched this very interesting video among your videos that I usually enjoy. I watched only the house videos and watched the car videos, which were very interesting. I hope you can make a video of your car introduction in the future. I look forward to various types of videos!
Another tip.. regular bondo is thick and harder to spread smoothly. You want to get it smooth to keep down on the sanding. You can add small amount to your bondo mix with some fiberglass resin...which is like honey and it makes the bondo more easy to spread. Works great.
The fiberglass resin will cure to a waxy finish, worse so than regular Bondo, is harder and it will make it even harder to sand. Use a finishing filler that is designed to cure to a non tacky finish and has finer fillers and cure with almost no voids.
I would love to work for the Perkins brothers. Ive been Framing for over 5 years now. I know Jamie would be the kind of guy that would take the time to explain and teach you a lot of things. You would learn so much stuff from him on a job site
As a crew, we are all good! We actually went out yesterday as a crew into Asheville to try to help. It was amazing the devastation that has occurred, but it was so awesome to see all the people stepping up to help!
Really enjoyed this video different than usual but Jamie got talent I worked in a auto body shop one summer all I did was wash and sand I did get to tape a couple of times made thirty dollars a week
A buddy and I rebuilt the rust bucket body of a Toyota Corolla back in the 1980s. We used a lot of tiger hair and bondo. Finished it up and it looked great. The owner rolled it 2 weeks later. LOL
Love the little change up in the videos. Done to much body work in my time but got to love the outcome. How’s everyone doing after the hurricane were y’all effected
Alright. You guys rock. Sorry I got all up in your faces about masks 'n' all. I got a '01 Tundra that kissed some trees a while back so I have a primer black fender, and silver hood on a white pickup. You're making me want to paint is all up myself. I have a shop, so I can do that.
Better option than paint, cheaper too, I bet you could wrap that whole truck for less that $500 and you don't have to sand all the paint off except for that dent. So hardly any dust, it is not an all or nothing. You do a section today, a section in 2 days and a section next week. When done it would look great. I did not Yukon XL and is 20 years old but looks like I drove off the showroom.
Build houses, change bath fans, till a garden for Nan, paint a car… and it’s all entertaining. I think I’d still watch if you all just cooked a factor meal or started doing recipes or something. It’s all good.
FUN channel - glad you got going J., cuz ya'll have a great chemistry can FEEL! The copycats try to be like your gang, but fall flat! Wondering though, if you have time: what is the link to the car-revamp channel referenced .. 'chasing something'?? thx.
PS: I'm a scantly-experienced DIY newbie, but Erik .... even I know that if want thinner or not-so-quick-hardening bondo (whether traditioanl bondo or wood filler bondo), it all depends on the amt of accelertor (typically blue these days) added.

One of the best things about this crew is how much they care about one another. Eric picking up the camera when Jay wasn’t there is so dope!! They’re family!!
Yep!!
This is your NANA yelling at you --- WEAR MASKS WITH THAT SANDING AUTO PAINT AND APPLYING IT. YA'LL GONNA GET SICK!
They already have lung cancer from breathing concrete dust. A little bit of dust from sanding isn't going to hurt
If they don't care why should you
because i want to see those guys making videos for a couple more years@jamesadams893
Yeah, I was holding my breath watching the video 😂. and I’m not kidding.
Tell em Nana
PPE is not a joke. Please take care of yourselves.
I wish I had the relationship with my friends and family that they do, stay blessed 🙏🏾!!
That’s waaay more gooder! Nice job y’all!
When I grow up, I wanna be like Jamie. Oh, sad part, I'm 60.
Hope you guys appreciate his talents.
Me too!!!
Jamie is like one of my boy's. Jay is like my man. He still made me giggle.... we were together 36 year's official finally got to live together 14 year's ago (family and kids) such is life what don't kill you makes you strong miss the IDIOT R.I.P ALAN

I think a tip I heard before was to keep your shop floor damp when painting, so any dust etc will stick to the ground and not get airborne.
Very true sir
That’s old school, the humidity it creates is not good for the paint
Jaime can do anything! And you guys help get it done with quality.
I was thinking the exact same thing
Nice job , they did an excellent job of matching the paint ... Silver is difficult . You folks have talent Jay...... Jamie is on another level with his ability !
Great video Jay. Good to see the crew up to something entirely different.
I hope y'all are ok. Now a pro-tip. If you ever paint another hood. If you drill a small hole in the hood hinge and the hood. When you go to reinstall the hood. Almost looks like a movie kind of cast.

Dang...that turned out super nice! And Jay is on his way to 100K subs!
We are getting there!
Dude, that looks SO GOOD!!!! Yall did amazing. Hope things get back to normal in WNC, as much as possible, as soon as possible!!
I hope so too!

Looks great. A clay bar and polish to test of the trucks paint will bring it right around

Jay flux capacitor was a good guess but it is actually the ABS pump module it controls the braking and VSA systems in the truck. good jobs boys
Hope you guys are all safe from the storm. I liked the part where Ray cos-played as a UPS guy...
A buddy and I rebuilt the rust bucket body of a Toyota Corolla back in the 1980s. We used a lot of tiger hair and bondo. Finished it up and it looked great. The owner rolled it 2 weeks later. LOL
Wow!!!
Came out awesome!
The only thing i didnt like about factor meals is that they dont deliver to my area. Love the content❤️
Price just went up! Looks great
Nice job guys!!
Great job guys!👍👍👍👍👍
Been thinking about painting my old truck recently, glad to see some tips from these guys
You guys do everything! Very talented bunch. Cheers!
Jaime got down on that paint job. Silver metallic is the hardest to lay down. Jays body shop and paint 😂😂😂
Nice work! Looks great!
Thx jay good info . Love the video, thanx.💪👍😁
If y’all polish the parts you guys didn’t paint, the truck would look all shiny ✨
Love the little change up in the videos. Done to much body work in my time but got to love the outcome. How’s everyone doing after the hurricane were y’all effected
nearly at a hundy!! great work Jay!
Thanks!
Nice ad. If you’ve got to have one, yours at least gave me a chuckle.
Perkins builder brother's body shop 😂!!
We have used bondo on wood work more than once
Well done lads.
You guys are really talented.
GREAT VID JAY

Chip Foose would sand between coats. 😊 ❤
Awsome paint job guys!
Jamie...A sanding tip. Sand in an X pattern.
Super nice project.
That 100k mark is approaching fast 👍
So close!
WOW!! Great job Jaime! Is there anything you can't do??
Nothing
Perkins garage brothers😂
Looks great.

I was holding my breath.
Should get mud flaps too. Prevents some rock chips...
I saw the Perkuns update. Has anyone checked on Arlo? Glad you all are safe
Where did you see the Perkins update? I’d like to see it to.
@@richardasmith6235On their channel page. It’s probably under the community tab
Yes, Arlo is good. Most of Bryson city came out unscathed unfortunately this running areas are on Asheville and Waynesville got hit pretty hard.
You should always introduce new dudes in the video. who's Whitford??
Bump
Whitford was one of Erik‘s buddies sons.
That final filler is called "green stuff", spot putty, etc. Comes in a tube. And the green helps you see it. My neighbor was body guy.
looks great! 🔥
No color match floor mats?
Cool video!

Nice looking truck.
Chip Foose? Just one of the absolute most famous custom car guys on the planet, ladies. lol
His father too.
You had a reverse light out! 😂
Wonder if this is a truck for Chase, I remember seeing him drive with Erik in a previous PBB video. Awesome if so!
Yes it is.
Your passenger-side reverse light is out.
Great job on the paint, though! I need to do the same thing on my 2nd Gen Taco. Are you guys for hire?
