Thank you! This was the video we all wanted! This was big battery option? NMC chemistry because the smaller one would be LFP and more robust chemistry but way far from 350km+ reach
Well, almost. Having the rear glass being able to slide down like Fisker introduced with their Pear model, which has now been adopted by Rivian for their R2 and R3 model, would make it perfect. Having an automatic sliding rear glass for tossing gym bags, work bags, etc is a clutch feature. Typically people bring their bags in and plup it on the passenger seat, like Car Scene did with his bag😅. Oh, and built-in dashcam aka Sentry Mode. That's very important in North America, where crime and vandalism are a little higher. Rivian addressed it all and included NACS charge port. Of course, slightly higher prices, perhaps 5-10k difference. Interesting space to watch in the next 2 years.

Although not that long at 4300mm. It is allmost as wide as an EV6 which makes it a bit too wide for UK roads and parking spaces. Love that Kia are keeping physical buttons and those great regen adjust paddles.
I am no't a fan of the table and prefer a center storage myself. They should have it as an optional purchase rather than standard on the upper trims. That would be ideal.
I agree. It feels silly, but this is my only deal-breaker. I don't see why they couldn't make it like the EV9's rear center console that has hidden storage AND a built-in table.
Oh sweet, they removed the table for a real center console storage! This EV3 Air is the one I'd get, didn't even know it existed. I just hope it still gets the long range battery and the trim will be available in other countries. I also like these wheels more. I can live without the features it's missing.

So the big question now is when will DumA make her review? She has a unique take on things that I appreciate 😊😊
It's been years Korean spec cars didn't get a spare tire because we nearly never use them, thanks to amazing roadside assistance and insurances, but necessary markets will get spare tires.
love your reviews of the EV3 ... can not wait for my EV3 in Januari ... looking at your reviews I have made the right choice without a test drive. (in the Netherlands they have 5 models ,,, 2 GTLINE and 3 models not GTLINE .. I bought the highest not GTline .. (advanced plus) ...
Really a great review of a great car - thank you very much! I just hope that the AWD version comes as soon as possible. Then the EV3 will be my next car.
The Air version is my favourite, definitely. We might even buy one. We only miss the V2X option over here in Europe. Kia would do well to change that ASAP.
I’ll have to wait to see the prices of all the trims when it comes to Canada. When I buy one, I’ll keep it for 10+ years so I’ll likely get the higher trim for the extra features and to future proof it a bit since I’m still driving my 2011 Kia Soul 4u luxury trim. I really want these upgrades: HUD, sunroof, laminated windows, larger battery, the 12 pixel front lights, all LED interior lights, blind spot view cameras the upgraded steering wheel. I’d rather have body colour wheel trim, LFP battery, and a real console with or without the table, and assuming the NACS Port will be in all trims by the time we expect it to come to canada in maybe 2026. 🤞🏻
If they are the same tires but in different sizes, 17s should be more comfortable in most conditions. This is because they have more room for the tires to absorb energy due to a thicker and taller sidewall, among other factors. The advantages of having larger tires with thinner sidewalls are improved aesthetics and better handling in corners. In most other aspects, including price, smaller tires come out on top.
Thanks for reviewing the basic model. It is always difficult to find reviews of the lowest trim versions of cars. The differences here are not huge (great job Kia), but some manufacturers create an almost entirely different car. Also, maybe I missed it, but check out the connectivity of the car as well. My basic Peugeot EV doesn't have an app, can't even see my charging status remotely..
One thing to criticize here is the lack of 40/20/40 rear seat folding. That thing is super handy, but of course more expensive. P.S. regarding the table. I actually enjoy spending my time inside the cafe/shop while loading on the road, instead of in the car.
Each market gets different options and trims, sure do hope Kia will bring over all the techs and features they have on their cars :)
KIA went on a germany tour to introduce the EV3 at diffrent dealerships. The car really feels great and looks awesome. There are two diffences what if have seen. There will be no AC outlet in the cabin and the back seats can´t be adjusted as well. I really hope its just because it was an event car and the real relaesd car will have this features, specialy the AC outlet.
I don't know if the details will be identical all over the world, but where I live (Europe), the Air does not come with a heat pump. I already looked because I too am interested in that car! "My" Kia dealer said they should have two EV3s ready for test-driving by mid-November. I can't wait!
This could differ from one market to another, so please check with your local dealership. The last thing I want is to give my viewers false information.
In Italy the Air doesn't come with the heat pump, I also saw that a whole series of driving assistance systems should also be added, sadly: -Rear Cross Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA) -Safe Exit Assist (SEA) -Electrically foldable exterior mirrors -Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) -Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) -Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2)
Again a great review. The EV3 GT line have different speaker system the the ‘active’, or the lowest spec version (in Norway). Can you review the difference?
I don't really talk about speakers and sounds in my review because I know little to none about them. Any speakers that have badges sound good enough for me😅I'm more of BOSE guy though.
Given the choice, I would take the storage over the sliding table. However, I don't get that choice on the GT Line S I have ordered. (which I will hopefully have in the next couple of weeks. In sunset orange. Not sure if it's just a UK colour.)
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks for your answer! Regarding the heat pump, do you think it's a deal breaker? Where I live there are some cold months (around 0º to -3º C), but we don't drive the car every day because we work at home. Thanks!
Well, it looks amazing for a base model. We don't see many options out there with this bunch of useful features. Looking at Kia's web site it says the standard model comes with cloth seats but in the video it looks more like synthetic leather. Anyone knows what kind of material are being shown in this video?
Really want to see the EV2. EV3 is too big for my needs. Love how Kia have made these instantly recognisable car, starting off at the EV9 and reducing in size, whilst keeping many design traits. EV2 or Model 2 will be next car I believe 😊 depending on which one comes to Australia, as I’ve heard Kia won’t being the EV2 , which isn’t a good rumour.
I don’t know about any of you but I’m used to sticking a coffee from Starbucks/costa within easy reach and drinking it while on the motorway etc. Putting the cup holder down there makes me wonder if I would have to bend over to reach the coffee and taking my eyes off the road
I did mention that on my long distance test drive video, I'm a coffee person myself as well always carrying my venti size Yeti tumbler. I didn't have to "bend over" to reach the tumbler, but it does require you to reach further out due to the physical limitations. It did bother me a little at first, but got used to it. You should definitely bring your tumbler on a test drive see if that's going to be a deal breaker for you or not. The armrest indeed is a bit obstructive when reaching in and out tbh.
Thanks for the excellent detailed review 😊 I should get practical EV3 air trim with long range since I am switching from 21 years old Kia Cerato 😅 Practical & Economical .. and also it’ll be my first electric car. Do you have any suggestion for home charger? I’ll be soon living in a house not an apartment like many Koreans do.
The options I've showed you, I just cannot write it all down here unfortunately. It will also be different marginally from a market to another as well.
Ich werde so schnell wie möglich liefern :) No news about EV4 in Korean market either. I will devlier as soon as possible :)
The seat is less adjustable compared to GT-line indeed, but you still do get 8-way electric driver's seat + electric driver's seat lumbar support 2-way.
Laminated glass is dangerous if your car get into water, you are unable to escape easily. In the Netherlands several people drown every year because of this. There is a debate now if this should still be allowed or not. Your life hamer will not be able to break the windows ! You can hit 30 times but still the window will not break.
Not sure how you'd get that quote, but if it is loaded EV3 vs base model EV6, I'd go with EV3. I prefer loaded cars than a base model of the "next level" car.
@@CarSceneKorea in my country in europe, we can get the ev3 with 81kwh battery for the same price as ev6 77kwh rwd (pre facelift). I dont know what is better option here.
they should leave small screen cut like on Kia E niro 2 base model to attach smartphone holder this only reason i bought Kia E niro 2 not 4 why they can't do that on new cars
Might be the base Model from the outside.. Yet the inside is leather and not Cloth.. in Germany there is a cloth variant with looks different inside i mean :)
Hi loved the review. I am in the UK and wanted to know did your test model ev3 air have tinted windows. It seems UK spec does not have tinted windows. Thanks in advance if you can throw any light on the subject.
Yep, it's Korean thing, 99% of cars in Korea have tints. None of Hyundai Motor Group cars come with tints from the factory, it's all done post-production by the owner/business including this EV3.
Why do you say that EV6 doesn't have auto Regen. Just puul and hold the right paddle and it switches to auto regen. EV6 will also bring you to a dead stop in ipedal mode.
I should've said Auto Regen 3.0, which currently is exclusive to EV3 only from entire Hyundai Motor Group EV line-ups. It's different from the Auto mode we used to have on previous cars, it stops the vehicle to a complete stop whereas others' didn't.
"Opposites United," is the latest Kia design language and that must be the reason why. Some Kias have their logos on wheels that way too!
Heated and ventilated seats I was not expecting in the base model. Kia may just have stolen a customer from GM. Only thing missing is built-in dashcam, but I assume higher trims have?
Indeed. Crazy value they threw in on the Air trim. Higher trims do have Built-in Cam 2, but it seems like a few countries don’t get it due to regulations.
Without an actual charge curve it's still very hard to know if this car is good for long range. If it can actually hold the maximum kW charge for a long time it might be actually really good but there is no way to know. Because you keep ignoring the charging of the car and just talk about it's one charge range. Which is not very useful.

@@CarSceneKorea appreciate your answers. Thank you very, very much!
6:52 is there a luxury merch on the passenger seat?
Well, it looks amazing for a base model. We don't see many options out there with this bunch of useful features. Looking at Kia's web site it says the standard model comes with cloth seats but in the video it looks more like synthetic leather. Anyone knows what kind of material are being shown in this video?
Good point you brought up there, do double check with your local dealer about the spec you'd get in your market.
I'm waiting for the EV5 still!
Korea does not get EV5 yet, so you won't be seeing it on my channel any time soon😭
@@jeffs6090 EV5 might not ever hit the European market…
Is it possible to purchase eletric trunk lid as an option? I am a bit disappointed because of its absence
Yes, automated trunk available on higher trims :)
@CarSceneKorea got it, thanks...anyways it's sad because "Air" doesn't have it
@@red_mark_five I hear you🥲
Really want to see the EV2.
It would've been really nice if Kia Ray EV was also available globally. Can't wait to see other EVs indeed.
Does the Air or Air Long Range have driver side memory seats?
Nope, it's where ventilated/heated seats buttons are on GT-line, which aren't found on the Air trim.
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks :) great videos, loving them
I don’t know about any of you but I’m used to sticking a coffee from Starbucks/costa within easy reach and drinking it while on the motorway etc.
I’ll be soon living in a house not an apartment like many Koreans do.
does it support V2L or even V2G? that would be a selling point for me
There are only V2L and V2V on HMG cars yet.
Any difference between Air SR and Air LR (besides battery size)?
The options I've showed you, I just cannot write it all down here unfortunately. It will also be different marginally from a market to another as well.
And there is the 2 spoke steering wheel I was referring to in earlier comment. That is what I want.
Is EV3's ride quality comparable to ioniq 5?
IONIQ 5 = EV6 > EV3, but EV3 is really there.
I like the base model more. If it comes with a heat pump its perfect
It does for domestic Korean market; however, I’m not sure about other markets.
The battery is LFP or NMC? Thanks
NCM.
Ev5 coming soon too?
Korea does not get EV5 yet, so you won't be seeing it on my channel any time soon😭
Korean cars bloated of features are on my list everytime I'm looking for renewal of my lease. They perform great during the lifespan of the contract.
If you are considering EV3 for your next lease, it will be a great option to have.
what’s the estimated price for this model?
That will vary depending on one market to another. Please check with your local dealership.
Build it in the USA so we get the incentives, put an LFP battery and a heat pump in it, and it's PERFECT.
No news about EV4 in Korean market either. I will devlier as soon as possible :)
does the car have a galvanized body?
That's beyond my knowledge😭
Why no table!? I liked that feature :(
FYI. I'm 40 y.o. and I have to play your videos at 1,6x - 1,8x
I play mine at 2.0X😉
Is it E-GMP??
Yep.
So this is baseline model with big NMC baattery? Not LFP right ? 🎉🎉🎉
All EV3s have NCM batteries :)
Does the air have lumbar support?
If not, is the seat more comfortable than the original Niro without lumbar?
The seat is less adjustable compared to GT-line indeed, but you still do get 8-way electric driver's seat + electric driver's seat lumbar support 2-way.
Laminated glass is dangerous if your car get into water, you are unable to escape easily. In the Netherlands several people drown every year because of this. There is a debate now if this should still be allowed or not. Your life hamer will not be able to break the windows ! You can hit 30 times but still the window will not break.
Thanks for sharing.
we are buying new car, what do you think is better (for the same price), new kia ev3 or kia ev6 (last year model, before facelift) ?
Not sure how you'd get that quote, but if it is loaded EV3 vs base model EV6, I'd go with EV3. I prefer loaded cars than a base model of the "next level" car.
@@CarSceneKorea in my country in europe, we can get the ev3 with 81kwh battery for the same price as ev6 77kwh rwd (pre facelift).
I dont know what is better option here.
Really a tough call indeed. Test drive the two, they are quite different if not very.
they should leave small screen cut like on Kia E niro 2 base model to attach smartphone holder this only reason i bought Kia E niro 2 not 4 why they can't do that on new cars
Did you test the AI ?
I did on my first video, but I had difficulty coming up with the right prompt like ChatGPT😅
Might be the base Model from the outside.. Yet the inside is leather and not Cloth.. in Germany there is a cloth variant with looks different inside i mean :)
This was the lowest trim I could find at the moment, I'll try some more ;)
Hi loved the review.

I don`t pay 40.000€ (real price in Spain for the Air) for a electric car without heat pump
Translation not working properly😭
Without an actual charge curve it's still very hard to know if this car is good for long range. If it can actually hold the maximum kW charge for a long time it might be actually really good but there is no way to know. Because you keep ignoring the charging of the car and just talk about it's one charge range. Which is not very useful.
I can only find out so much you know😅
Is this long Range Model? So it is not the cheapest EV3?
You got me there!
