Genesis deserves way more credit for the music they made. Since the group was not polemic or extravagant they didn’t get all the awards and recognition they should’ve.

Well I was talking about how they didn’t receive enough credit for all their work. In my opinion they deserved more. I have seen other bands getting more credit and I think that Genesis was underrated just because they were more focused on music than on being famous.
I did not know they never got enough recognition but I do know they are very much loved! 🎶😍

I find it ironic that they probably didn't know this, but the Bible calls the whole world "Babylon" in the last days because Babylon means "confusion". And here we are.
Those guys were pretty smart and educated, actually. Don't bet on them not knowing that. More probable that they didn't discuss it in interviews, so as to avoid all the bullshit that arises every time anyone mentions religion in public. They were smart like that, too.
The work gone into the likeness of each puppet and who they represent is incredible.
Genesis was one of the best bands ever, i was a guitarist that played with Atlanta rhythm section and Leon Russell at the Olympics, learned how important to prog rock they really are, and how much the band changed sounds through the years is incredible

Each generation has a moral duty to fight the fires of old, slay the many dragons that have been around since forever ago.
Young + Old Generation MUST do it together for anything good to happen; it’s gotta be a continuous effort of unity with all of us.

This song fits 2020 FOREAL i heard my mom listen to the cd with this song on it. Whenever this song came on she would go silent and just listen to it. She was always a very sensitive woman and cried when she heard this song. I asked her why she never just skipped the song if it always made her cry? She would just smile at me and say that she felt connected to the songs meaning. I didn't understand because she was born in the late 50s. I know my mother seen alot as a child and growing up Black in Mississippi was hard. But i still never really understood why she felt CONNECTED to the lyrics. Before she passed away she played the song on a loop. I didn't make a fuss because it made her happy to listen to it.

This song just popped in my brain a few days ago and i used to love it and even tho ive never sang it in karaoke, i identify w/this songs meaning because i am a chocolate woman now in MN. and have experienced a lot of negative feelings and thoughts from people of other colors since ive been in MN. from 1994-present. I love Phil Collins and his talent since the 80's and have recently sang his version of True Colors in karaoke here in town. I was shocked and much pleased when i got a hearty applause from the audience bc i thought nobody ever heard this version before. I realize i was wrong in my assumption and i apologized for thinking wrong. It was so fun to sing. Ive loved PC version for a long time and i finally got to sing it. Even tho i was nervous at first just thinking about it. Thank u for triggering me in a positive way. I usually get triggered in a negative way. I love this song. When it was first created in the 20th century, the nastiness in the world wasn't made as public as it is today via the internet. The lyrics of this song hit even harder today than they did when they were written and sung for the first time.

The puppets in this video are genius! They add a layer of satire and social commentary to the already powerful lyrics. The way they're used to portray the masses blindly following leaders and conforming to societal norms is chilling. The thumbs up gesture at 2:45 is especially haunting. Genesis always pushes boundaries with their music videos, and this one is no exception. The lyrics are just as relevant today as they were in 1986. 'Land of Confusion' remains a timeless classic!
The music video and lyrics are terrifying, but it does not ruin the song. It's a banger.
The beginning and ending skit of Ronald and his wife is hilarious! In contrast, the breakdown in the middle of the song is crushingly painful...."and the sound of your laughter, as I held you tight, so long ago" and the haunting over, and over repeating notes from the lydian music scale that follows!!! Phil had so much pain from his first wife's rejection....it is reflected in sooo many songs that he wrote!!!

Thanks for reissuing this video! One of my favorites back in the 1980s. Glad to see Genesis is doing a brief two month tour in the UK/Ireland Nov. Dec 2020. It is the last thing I expected and a treat for them to perform again. Too bad I live too far away as I would have loved to see them perform.

This was my favorite song as a five year old kid I use to stand in front of the tv and sing this whole song not knowing the meaning to the words but music like this the musical melodies is what made me fall in love with making music. I realize now that music is in my blood but in those days I did not understand why these melodies touched my soul I guess you can say and other people never paid those parts of the songs any mind. They knew the words and could hear the beats but it did not resonate in their soul so they did not understand how much even a simple melody can touch people spiritually. I know now that a lot of music especially in the old days were songs written in witch language. From the words down to the melody itself was all inspired by demonic spirits and although the music touched many souls it also lead to corruption of peoples souls in the process. Thank God that I woke up to the reality that music holds power over us.

This is one of the videos that could improve by doing some minor editing, like making a version without the sound effects (there's already one, but it would be nice if it where official with the latest remaster version).
It would also be really nice to have a real HD version of this, i suppose this was done in film, but they'll need the original master, hard to think that the original master is sitting on a shelf... either way, i'm happy that this channel is releasing videos almost weekly.
