Happy to hear about the success of Richard’s prostrate surgery! Thankful for your opportunity to have this in Portugal with an expert urologist. As a Canadian, very disappointed in our healthcare system in Canada. I shudder at the thoughts of the consequences of the delays in diagnostics, treatment, surgery had you stayed in Canada.
Margaret thank you for sharing your and Richard's story..so heart moving..as far as higher power, I am a Christian and the Almighty God, creator of all...held you and Richard so well. Onward to your living in Portugal and beautiful memory making moments to you both....I have used your video exercises for a couple of years, so appreciate your gift of instruction, research and very lovely delivery online...you are a 'sweet heart'. Take care, from Santa Fe, NM
I'm glad to hear that Richard had a favorable outcome. A health scare and moving to a new country is a lot to deal with all at once! Take extra special care of yourselves. Thank you for all that you do and for helping me stay strong and healthy as I age.
I have just found you and you are a lifesaver! There is not a lot of help out there and mixed information when trying to manage Osteoporosis without medicine. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for showing your vulnerability by sharing you and Richard's story. Congrats on the successful surgery and the move to Portugal.
Such a huge life change for you and Richard. Takes a great deal of courage and trust to leave your home country for another. I hope that you'll find a great love for your new home, new friends and new experiences. Thank you for all the excellent support materials you created for those of us who have bone density/quality challenges. I had very poor DEXA scan results in December so I'm looking forward to getting started learning from your knowledge. Blessings from Indiana!
I'm so thankful for your initial comment on the angel wings exercise! I fell on ice down 3 stairs and broke my humerus up high 2 years ago, also sustaining lots of injury to the soft tissue surrounding the shoulder. I've recovered a tremendous amount of mobility but felt frustrated that my affected arm was way off being able to touch the wall (at least my lower arm). Your advice here relieves me of trying to 'make it' become more flexible by pushing it, or even expecting it to ever regain that level of mobility.
I have to pause ..will finish watching later …but wanted to say now = such good information you impart / still!!!despite the huge impacts recently experienced. Yea Richard!!! Your articulate account of his medical ‘stuff’ was inspiring b’c of the honest, accurate details you provided!! Good work = both of you. Look fwd to watching all this session then those in the future. Good to see you looking so well - Portugal agrees with you!!!Enjoy ..Beverley Owens / currently living in my self- converted van = travelled across Canada/US ..now in BC where I turned 81 y/o ..my L1 CF of ‘21 and T6 CF of ‘23 (+ wedges of T7/8)?have ‘settled down’ ..and I have mostly resumed prior activities (within age-related natural factors) - thanx to your instruction/guidance in exercises and bone health..and safe ROM in daily life. Thank you ..always!!❤
Thank you Margaret for such an informative live stream which I thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't send in a question but you answered questions I would have asked especially regarding compression fractures. Good health and best wishes to yourself and Richard.
Thank you for sharing your personal story ♥️ . I will talk to my husband about him getting a PSA test. I’m so happy for you and Richard that you can now enjoy your new lives and adventures in Portugal, in good health. A good reminder for us to take good care of ourselves and to continue to live our lives to the fullest. And thank you both so much for the excellent work you continue to do for us ♥️.
I may not have seen the latest livestreams, but this one is an improvement in video quality, and format, everything. Such good questions and content as well, and I’ve learned a lot. I appreciate all of your work and have books, exercise videos, and courses from you. Such a great resource. I can’t say how much I appreciate you. I’m so sorry to hear of the tremendous stress you and Richard have gone through and so glad that you are on the other side of it with such a good outcome. And Portugal! Wow!
Thank you for all you do, Margaret and Richard, despite all of the challenges you’ve experienced in the last few months! So glad to hear of Richard’s successful surgery. Now you can really enjoy your new home. Looking forward to what you do next, and checking in to those things you’ve talked about in this Q&A. Thanks again!
Oh, Margaret, what a stressful time you have both been through, I'm so sorry to hear about this and wish you and Richard much happier times from now on. Thank goodness your doctor thought it wise to give you both health checks before you left. Thank you for sharing your experience, and as always, your knowledge to help us oldies navigate our bone health.
Thank You very much for all of your help. I just started to watch you and feel like I trust your information. There is a lot out there that does not seem correct. I was happy to hear in your video that your husband is doing better. congrats on your move and I will see you next time.
Thank you Margaret for this session! You’re a wealth of information and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and time with us. Congratulations on your move to Portugal and to your husband for being cancer free now!
Thank you for an excellent Ask Margaret Anything. I'll check out the recommendations on ADL using the link in your book. Congratulations on the settling in, that's a huge move. And wonderful news about your husband. Here's to many more years of good health.
Oh Margaret and Richard! What an intense and scary time you've been through and what a hard way to start a new life in a foreign country. I hope that things continue to hold steady for you Richard and that you two can get on with all it takes to settle into a new place.
Hello Margarit, I am your neighbor Gülzar from Canada. I always remember you with love. I am grateful for the beautiful things you have given me. I'm so sorry about your wife, I wish her good health, I hope she gets well soon...
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You gave me some pointers that I somehow had never picked up before and I am so excited to implement them quickly. I do have an LIV I
Hi Margaret, Thank you for being so vulnerable in sharing your personal journey, both one of excitement and no doubtedly one of stress and uncertainty. I'm content to hear Richard is in better health. If you have the opportunity, would you be able to share your thoughts on compression socks. I'm a big brisk walker and my right hamstring is feeling particularly fatigue daily. I am seeing an Osteopathy, who suggested I reduce the days I walk, but I love it so much. I only do 30 mins 4 days a week and stretch before and after. So I heard about compression stockings! Any advice? Adelina
Thank you for sharing your personal story and to hear Richard has recovered. It was so nice to see you, you are looking well. Where did you finally settle, Lisbon/Porto??? I have so many questions. Wish we could chat. 👋M
Sorry, I pushed the wrong button. I have used my LUV faithfully twice a day for almost a year and can hardly wait for my next dexa scan. Now I will try to use it three times a day having listened to you. I'm also going to try and figure out how to figure out WHY I'm losing bone. No one has addressed that with me so I will address that with them!
Margaret. I have had a hip replacement 7 weeks ago. I am doing my rehab but wondered if there are any other exercises that you would recommend me do? I have also had both knees replaced in the past and I find that they are a little sore at the moment. I suppose from taking extra strain. With my thanks. Lorna
I have been on Prolia for 2 years. Recently I should have had my last injection in January! However because I changed health insurance,in January! The Dr's new order did not go through!! Now it is March I still have not had the injection. I called my physician, he said he will reorder it. I am afraid I have done some damage by having waited so long. Should I be concerned!!??
I have a hyper vest per your recommendation. I wear it once a week for about 2 hours, loaded with a total of 2 pound weights. I’d this enough? What is optimum time? I also lift per the Liftmor trial with my trainer.
Re. Main Extension exercise for the spine where you are lying down I find very difficult. I am not able to lift my upper torso from the ground….just an about an inch off the ground for the shoulder. Why is that. Is it just me?
Hi am am doing the sitting down excercised for my knee which are helping but now and again my knee feels like it is going to lock, what can I do to help this? Many thanks. Janice x
This vibration thingy….Are you saying Maritime..Maridime? Is that a manufacturer? I saw several “vibration platforms” on Amazon with a wide price range. NLV platform? Can you please clarify this as I’ve never heard of it and would like to learn more. Thank you.
Thank you for attending the livestream. The product is called "Marodyne". You can learn more here: melioguide.com/products/marodyne-low-intensity-vibration-platform/
Hi Margaret. I'm sorry I missed your AMA Livestream. I've been following you for some years and have two of your books but somehow missed this event. If it's not too late, I do have a question for you. As a 68-year-old with osteoporosis who is now on a drug "holiday" (after 5 years on Actonel), I'm very serious about strength training and work out with weights at least 3 times a week. Problem is, I'm getting arthritis in my hands, my thumbs especially, which sometimes makes lifting a challenge. Anything you can suggest in terms of a supportive device (i.e., a brace of some kind) or a post-workout strategy to reduce pain? I don't want to rely on Tylenol Arthritis any more than I have to. Thanks very much for your help, and enjoy your new life in Portugal. I'm glad your husband has bounced back from his surgery.

I had a burst compression fracture mid-back almost a year ago. What sort of exercises are safe for me to do?

What about a rems ultrasound for bone density
