    Great teaching demo. It was so clear and so well shown. I really liked how you went slowly with numerous, narrated repetitions before adding some speed. Thank you!

    When you hold the Baston, align your knuckles so that they line up with the drip line which can simulate the edge of a blade. A vine (which is basically what rattan is) has a drip line. Plus if you leave enough punyo exposed (i.e. more than about an inch) for an opponent to grab, your Baston can be more easily taken from you! Just my two cent. :-)

    This is great teaching. My instructor have only taught and stressed the first five angles so far. It is cool to see how the other seven are implemented. Might just start working on these in advance, just to impress my instructor. By the way my instructor is one of the best in the nation and train many in the secret service, and have trained in this art for over thirty years under the greatest of grandmasters. I am very honored to be trained by him.

    Cool, my father thought me 12 point attack when i was 8 in 1983 but he pass away few yrs later so i was unable to continue learning. But i remember the basic moves and It's a little different from yours. But it's hard to remember the takes downs and disarms without someone to spar. Thanks for uploading, brought back good memories ^_^

    Similar to Arnis de Mano. It's a two stick system but the 12 angles are different after 7. All good stuff.

    These 12 basic strikes of arnis have very practical and effective applications. In actual fight against a bladed weapon, just effectively delivering one of these strikes after a parry or a block, or managing to strike first, this could be devastating to the attacker. These techniques are basically the same as when using a machete or a bolo knife.

    • @dds1930
      @dds1930 2 года назад

      NO NO NO basic strike cannot use in self defense because you don't understand how to flow your arnis ??? you must know how todance Kata in 144 strike

    I think it refers more to the angle of attack as 6 starts on the opposite side as 10 but ends in the same position. The same goes for 7 and 11.

    What are the differences between angle 6,7, 9 and 10 they look the same to me?

    • @wayofthecrane9411
      @wayofthecrane9411 5 лет назад

      Check out Balintawak for a better understanding, it is this with more depth. But, this mans style 6 is to the enemy's left upper chest and 7 is the right upper chest. You probably mean 10 and 11, those would be delivered to the eye ball region in the same order as 6 and 7, number 9 is a hit to the knee. There is more understanding of why things are initially shown once one learns to use the stick and open hand as a defense... and then later the defense and offense is 1 in the same movement.

    L learned a technique called Sinawali from one of these you tube videos. Is that from Arnis or some other like Escrima or Kali?

    • @saidmughery357
      @saidmughery357 4 года назад

      They are all the same . Btw in the Philippines geneally the don't even know what Kali/Escrima means. They just call it Arnis. In the U.S. they are more familiar with Kali and so on.

    In my opinion... Arnis was a little easier to learn and makes more sense than Kali even though they say they are one in the same (which I don’t believe)... Arnis was little easier to understand for me

    seriously, leave it at 10, dont add the angles you are just repeating. you dont need to do 10 and 11 again just cause one is head one is chest, you might as well add angles for everything then, like angle 1 to the head angle 1 to the chest angle 1 to the foot and go on forever, assuming everyone is the same height as well. jeeeze way to simplify things coach'.
