A while ago, when shambles first came out, I went through the Band-Maid discography and listened to everything in chronological order, albums and singles. When you do that you hear the evolution so clearly. How they grow more complex with every release (almost song to song). I realized it's because Kanami doesnt write songs they can play but rather she writes songs she knows they will be able to play when they work at it. Once they've done something and become proficient she goes ahead, and rather than writing more songs in that style she looks to what is a step beyond that and begins to write that. It's insane because you'd never say their older songs are any worse than the newer songs but when you lay them all out in a line you clearly see the constant evolution. That is something that I don't think I've seen from any other band. Most other bands settle into a sound and stay there for the most part, Band-Maid has a distinct sound by constantly evolving and keeping their fans saying "I wonder what this one will sound like".

Yay! My favourite version of Band-Maid! The chaos version :D One of the many drum/bass centric songs, this time leaning more to Akane's expert double bass.

Akane going all out King Kong mode. May her kit rest in peace. Cheers!

Flames are often used in Band-Maid's music videos, but these flames are not CG, they are all real burning flames. Furthermore, Saiki's sigh at the end of this MV is not a staged performance, but a genuine sigh of relief from Saiki after he finishes singing.

Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘Thx, Ords!

Corallium fans, I think he just said he loves bass within a guitar solo. Time to rise up yall.
Jokes asides, Band Maid does this pretty often, but Corallium is the one where I think they do it best, so I hope you will include it in your thirty days!

Kanami is a true sensei. Not only has she written the basis of great song after great song and then worked with the others to develop them to a level of complexity that would serve most bands for a whole album, all the while stretching the others to become better, she found the time to teach Miku how to play the guitar. It is true that Miku is highly motivated, once she's decided to do something, you step aside or get run over, but to not only teach someone the basics, but to bring her to the level she has currently achieved (and will inevitably surpass) is the mark of genius. And it's all done without the slightest hint of ego. We all know how Kanami can melt your face or reduce you to tears with her solos. Lesser beings would give themselves a bigger slice of the music pie. Not Kanami. For her, the song as a whole is all important. One person like that in a band would be amazing. But there are five of them. They love what they do. They love one another. And they love their fans. I'm the wrong side of 70 and have heard and seen a lot of bands in my day and I just give thanks I lived long enough to discover these women, and pray I live longer still to get to hear much more from them. The only musical acts that come close, to my mind, are Band-Maiko and Cluppo. And whilst I do enjoy listening to the two Suzukas, and have been known to nod my head and tap my feet to The Warning, these five - Miku, Kanami, Akane, MISA, and Saiki - are the ones to whom I bow down in adoration and awe.

My friend, I am also the wrong side of 70. But since discovering this band two years ago, I threw away 20 years.
And then I saw Saiki throw her mike stand to the floor at the beginning of Alone. I know that feeling.
I understand and agree with everything that you said.
The first time that I saw them was the
      Domination live video.
It was midnight and I was sitting in bed.
I almost had a heart attack because I forgot to breathe.
      Thank you "Verdy Channel"
I watch and listen to them every day.
They are my inspiration and my joy.
      Life changing....

No graphical overlays for the fire, they like a bit of fire in their videos which always seems to be when they film on freezing days as here when it was around 3°C . Incidentally, Miku was blamed for the destroyed building which is a band inside joke concerning her muscular frame and clumsiness.

You have some weird compression in your sound that makes them sound squashed and splashy. This was commissioned as the season two closing theme for the Netflix anime, Kengan Ashura. BAND-MAID have other Anime Theme Songs, but check out the OMV for 'Unleash' where they appear in anime form themselves. BAND-MAID challenge themselves every time. They have the best Rhythm Section in the business. Akane and MISA met at the Tokyo School Of Music. You should watch the documentary videos. And those aren't overlays. BAND-MAID uses real FIRE! In fact it was so cold the only time they were warm was when the fire was on. In between takes they could put their coats on.

The order to watch is 1 Saiki, 2 Kanami, 3 Akane, 4 Misa, then the 3-part Miku episodes. There are two versions of the Saki and Kanami episodes, the shorter ones were made first, then revised. Enjoy!
