For the past few years, there's been one album (or artist) per year which has had me in a chokehold. In 2021, it was CHVRCHES' Screen Violence album (especially once the deluxe edition dropped). 2022, Beyonce's Renaissance. This year? It's Caroline Polachek. Thanks for the tip-off, dude.
Tidal suggested this album for me, and while I don't think I'm great at giving thoughts on albums, i was definitely getting the 90s contemporary vibes from this (just couldn't describe what it reminded me of). Your Best of lists were what got me listening to albums again, so I will definitely be giving Pang a listen after this. Great review! :)
It's funny that I'm the 69th thumbs up in the review of an album about love and desire and things like it. Anyway, I should really listen to Caroline' stuff ASAP, heard only great things about her and "Look At Me Now" is a great song in "Pang".
Great Review Crash. I love this record and would give it a 9/10 too. I can also recommend the new record by british Post-Hardcore/Alternative Rock Band Hundred Reasons "Glorious Sunset"- you should check this one out :-)
I really enjoyed the album, but I feel like it’s not as good as Pang. Maybe that feeling will change over time, and I hope it does. I mean the Paramore album I felt similarly, score wise, and that shot up with more listens, so anything’s possible.
@Aster Risk I said i want to see a great black metal in March so far not been great apart from Ahab and Enslaved both are banger so far Hellripper has been my favourite album in 2023
I want to turn into desire too after hearing this
