Looks like a pretty capable machine, I've always appreciated your unbiased opinions. As for BLTouch, I recently started using one since it came on my Ender 5 Plus, I can't believe I lived without one. I've played with ABL on my older machines with the diy Servo arm/microswitch probes, but BLTouch just works so much better than anything I've ever tried. I don't think I'll ever use a machine without one in the future, and I'll be retrofitting them to a couple of my older machines as well as they're pretty inexpensive and easy to set up in firmware once you've had to do it. I had to set it up on the Ender because the offsets were way off from the factory, but it's an easy fix, and when it's set up correctly it works like a champ. Switching my bedsprings to silicone columns also made a bunch of difference. I just got a set of Derlin anti-backlash leadscrew nuts in the other day, so once I swap those in, I should rarely need to level the bed manually or square up the z gantry anymore (It seemed to drop a little on one side after every print, so I had to level the gantry each time, so the anti-backlash nuts should fix that hopefully.).
So how is this printer 11 months later? I currently have an Ender 3 V2. And I'm absolutely tired of messing with it constantly. I like the printer. It's fantastic for the price. But I just want to print stuff without having to mess with it all the time. I'm perfectly comfortable and capable of all the maintenance. But this seems to be a machine that is a lot easier to use.
It resembles an M2 but does not come with an M2 price tag, I would also recommend Kywoo take a look at the latest versions of Cura and Prusa Slicer as in the last couple of years they have both come of age and can produce some excellent prints, I can't remember ever getting an update to Simplify 3D, in fact when I helped a friend choose a 3D printer I told him not to bother getting Simplify 3D and to use Prusa Slicer, the money that it costs can get you a lot of excellent quality and exotic filaments.
@Andrew Hayes, thank you so much, we got a lot of advice from 3d printing professor, we did consider and try a Cura, we shall take Cura as the first choice, that's much easier for beginners.
@@kywooofficial8549 It's easier for beginners if you put a nice Cura profile together for your machine, but if it lacks a good ready-made profile, it can be a bit daunting for a newcomer to get everything dialed in.
I'm trying to get into 3D printing, and I was looking at an Ender 3 V2 or something similar, but this seems fairly nice although a bit higher priced. My biggest point of confusion in 3D printing is the software right now. I know that blender and cura are fairly common, and I'd prefer those because they're free and open source software, but I hope that I can grab the settings for the printer and it "just works". Maybe that's a little naive...
FYI: When printing from Cura with the Wireless plugin, the Kywoo Tycoon will show an image of the model instead of a generic file icon in the file list and on the screen while printing. I'm loving this printer even though it is my first. Thanks to 3D Printing Professor for helping me with some of the settings. The only setting I haven't figured out yet is how to rotate the build plate in Cura, but everything still prints fine.
I am really looking at this printer or the Prusa mini, as I pretty much WW2 table top vehicles and RC planes. My issue is my cr10-mini lasted about 3 months and my Artillery Genius lasted about a month, I would like to see a over time video on the reliability of the machine .
Well, that's gonna take some time, but I do my re-reviews in March. I will say since this video, this printer has become my go to machine most of the time.
Hi professor, I've just bought one of these printers, it say on Amazon that you can use stl, amf, obj and gcode, ....I'm new to 3d printing, and I thought it would pr ok not all these files ..but just works on gcode.....is that normal for any 3d printer?
The problem I always have with these "review pieces" they give to youtubers is that we don´t know if that is exactly the same we consumers get, or if they basically hand select and prepare one to be as perfect as possible. Because of this I trust reviewers much more who just bought them online like the rest of us and where we know that it is really a standard one.
