After a 25 year absence from tabletop gaming, your videos have taught me the skills to have another go. Bear in mind back in the day painting guides were basically base coat -> block in colours -> ??? -> 'eavy metal quality miniature. I've painted three teams for blood bowl and am absolutely proud to field them.

@MidwinterMinis Oh, I knew he wanted to sell it before I painted. It was a chance to paint a whole set, so I couldn't resist. re: your varnishing step. I've always hit the minis with a layer or two of gloss spray varnish first for a hard enamel-like shell, and then when its dry, a final layer of matte to kill the shine.

I had a real breakthrough with my painting in the last two weeks. I went from prolific to non productive for pretty much a 2.5 years, though I watched plenty of videos about doing it. The primary issue was pain. You just can't concentrate with pain. But following on this I just could not get back into it. The solution, I discovered that the spot I was set up was impossible in terms of light and there was no easy solution. Well, I got figures for a new game and started using a desk in the corner of my Mum's dining room where light comes in from two angles. All of a sudden I am three quarters of my way through my first batch of 28mm figures for my new game. And I did this in two painting sessions including camouflage on the uniforms. So, important tip. You need light for periods of longer than 40 minutes and your recalcitrance will melt away.

I've started painting my set since your last video (only got the sorcerer, gargoyle and heroes left) and the Green Skins were by far the most tedious. I tried to vary the colours for each to make them seem even more rag-tag, but that obviously made the process so much longer 😂 So happy with the results, but man, it was frustrating

I like that the orcs and goblins both have a mix of male and female sculpts. _While_ making the two sets cohesive. As if they're _actually_ the same species, rather than the girls being inexplicably more like green humans/elves than the boys.
