There are tenors, and many fine ones, but there will always be Caruso, if not only for his powerful instrument, but above all, his humanity to remind us the heights art can reach. Rembrandt reached it (look into the eyes of his self-portraits), as did Shakespeare.
Well he did Record with Tito Ruffo the duet from Verdi Otello Based on Shakespeare Othello on Thursday January 8th 1914 Just Eight Months before World War One Broke out on Tuesday August 4th 1914 a war that was going too claim 10 Million lives before it finally ended at 11am on Monday November 11th 1918
I had the privilege to listen on January 1st 2013 to an original recording of Una lagrima furtive on a 78 RPM recording.. the most amazing day in my life... I pray to hold this record in my hands again.. and to listen to the sublime voice..
I simply love his passion and heart .. Where is just one gentleman like him today? I am 54 and single..they just don't make them like they did before my time I guess.
Try listening to one from your own generation who carries Caruso's torch today. His name is Jonas Kaufman who is widely considered to be today's greatest tenor. He has easily filled the shoes of Pavarotti, Carreras and Placido Domingo. These gentlemen have courageously carried that operatic torch that they inherited from the great Caruso. Also check out Mario Lanza from the 1950's who brilliantly followed in Caruso's footsteps. Mario's recordings shine partly because the technological expertise for recording was not present in Caruso's lifetime.
@@belindawilliams3728. Jonas Kaufman? Come on?!?! Pavarotti and Carreras are too sweet for my taste. They did not inherit anything from Caruso. While Monaco, Corelli and Bjorling were perfect. Their voice technique however was completely different.
@@robynkroetz1311. I have been listening to Gigli for almost 65 years. Gigli was not Caruso. Different voices and characters. Gigli did not replace Caruso in my heart.

Or do a musical presentation on him , I'm completely astounded by the amplitude of The Voice , The Uncanny phrasing of the singing, the unmatched chiaroscuro and his unparalleled Humanity

There are tenors, and many fine ones, but there will always be Caruso, if not only for his powerful instrument, but above all, his humanity to remind us the heights art can reach. Rembrandt reached it (look into the eyes of his self-portraits), as did Shakespeare.
True ❤️
Well he did Record with Tito Ruffo the duet from Verdi Otello Based on Shakespeare Othello on Thursday January 8th 1914 Just Eight Months before World War One Broke out on Tuesday August 4th 1914 a war that was going too claim 10 Million lives before it finally ended at 11am on Monday November 11th 1918
Eddie, I think what Caruso does is beyond art, it is Divine. It is as if a G-d’ angel is moving his heart and vocal cords.
Sehr schlimm.
Don't forget Leonardo DaVinci. ❤❤❤
Nobody does any better than Caruso at 28:05.
Well said my friend
Jussi Bjorling came close
Timeless piece. Hundreds of years later it's priceless. Beautiful voice.
The best of all times. Singing Caruso may cure any kind of illness.
Quelle voix !
The KING of tenor.
EL TENOR MÁS EXELSO QUE HA EXISTIDO.
The velvety voice of Caruso remaince even on highest notes .
I THINK, WORLD'S GREATEST TENOR
EVER!
I N S U P E R A B I L E ! ! !
I had the privilege to listen on January 1st 2013 to an original recording of Una lagrima furtive on a 78 RPM recording.. the most amazing day in my life... I pray to hold this record in my hands again.. and to listen to the sublime voice..
Divine!!!!!!!
Cindy S. Collins It’s feminazis’ fault.
A new face and voice has appeared in Britain,
Maxwell Thorpe. Gave me chills hearing him sing like I do with Caruso and Domingo.
