The best part about the kirin horn thing is that it wasn't the devs' idea. It was a community reaction to one of their mistakes. They had this monster fight club, a 1 time thing, for anything you could capture... Which meant rajang was easily going to outclass everything and the most efficient diet to buff him for that was a kirin horn diet. I guess the team found that funny and made it part of his lore. Fighting him in Rise would have been a bit of a let down, with how much I hunted him in Iceborne and learned his moves, if it wasn't for the fact that I was raising a noob in Rise. His struggling and eventual overcoming of rajang brought me so much pride and joy. Also, hunts like that, shagaru, gaismagorm, etc. Where our experiences were totally different, with me having this chill hunt and him struggling, were funny memories. It was my first shagaru too but... I used aerial IG so... LMAO Nakarkos/ceadeus turf war yes. We could also get nakarkos hunting lagi, as he's lagi's only natural predator. Maybe abyssal would put up a better fight. Yes, we're all boned. Always roll with mucus, the fashion is worth it. As much as I like his uses of the bones, I kind of want him having mostly different monster parts in each game he's in. Just to show his personality and how different each region is, with how he reacts to it and chooses his arsenal. It's the god of hammer users. Using monster heads, and other body parts, on his tentacles. I would love to see a hydra octopus, just give the hydra gimmick to his tentacles in some way. Limit it to I guess each splitting in 2 but being able to cut them off and suppress them with fire would be awesome. I love how narga's whole ninja panther thing/eye trail only exists because they didn't finish his model in time for his reveal trailer. He was so bad with deadlines that he came out in his original game without any play testing of his fight. That means he was the hardest he was going to be at that time, cause they tend to go all in with personality and nerf as neaded for adding to low/high rank. They were shocked at how much people loved this raw/unpolished cat. I adore him. Like tigrex, him being simple is the point. His original concept was just faster tigrex. The build up to Giasmagorm was so exciting, it literally caused me to faint. Not my hunter, irl me. I did have to get medicated for mini-seizures after the event, but it’s a memory that I look back on and laugh about. Despite the physical damage he unintentionally caused, I still love him. I even bought his plushie so I could give him a sign like one of those posts shaming a pet for doing a bad thing.

I was new to this series in fifth gen but I had played stories first so I went all of rise just going ‘ok ok he’s next right? Right? Oh he’s ranking higher than rathalos, wow, he’s totally next. . . Right?’
It's so weird that he's not in Rise, like it's babies are in Rise but not the full grown one? Same goes for Tetsucabra but the baby Tetsu that Hojo rides on is clearly an outlier from the norm, my only guess is that they couldn't get the inflated form to work/look good? But then they should've just added him (and Tigerstripe) to Sunbreak if they couldn't get him working in base Rise

Gaismagorm gaining such a massive rank boost was great to see! It's such an awesome final boss. Similar big congrats to Lunagaron and Seltas Queen. On the reverse side, three of the Top 10 finishers from the popularity poll landed here. Wow.
Seeing Seltas Queen jump 67 places in the rankings is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Also happy to see regular Zinogre placed below Stygian this time around

See I knew going into this that Zinogre wasn’t going to be number one, but I think even being in top fifty is still saying a lot about how beloved the Lord of Lightning is. I’d go so far as to say I thought he’d make top twenty, but given we’re getting into the absolute fan favorites, it’s to be expected all the same. Hell, imagine my shock seeing Lunagaron beat Zinorge! Makes me feel vindicated as him being my favorite Fanged Wyvern. Still, I’ll always adore Zinogre, it just was a matter of seeing how he compared in this list to how he took first place in the offical poll.

So much great monsters I'm happy to see jumping places ! Nakarkos, Chameleos, Gaismagorm, Lunagaron, Zamtrios and Seltas Queen are all amazing monsters
So many monsters from Sunbreak that I love that havent shown up yet. Shagaru and Crimsong Glow and their risens, either of the Malzenos, Amastu, Espinas. And to think Lunagaron would be top 40!? I guess this goes to show how people who enjoyed sunbreak think about the quality of fight design in their game.
This video has made me rather sad, which anyone who knows me surely knows why. I am surprised Seltas Queen got so high, pleasantly so mind you, and shocked Rajang is this low. Oh, and I wish Lunagaron wasn't this damn high - I really do not find it that great of a monster, mostly agreeing with the comment about how it feels like two decent monsters instead of a single good one. 44. Mizutsune - the aesthetic alone gets it many points, same with the ecology 43. Espinas - a very solid yet basic Flying Wyvern, a good flagship 42. Seltas Queen - like I said, glad she placed so high 41. Akantor - this thing just has so much intimidation going on 40. Viper Tobi-Kadachi - good armor, a very solid subspecies and some fond memories 39. Gaismagorm - one heck of a final boss with so much spectacle, but never wanted to go back and grind it 38. Zamtrios - this thing is just too unique not to adore 37. Nargacuga - not as big of a fan as many are, but it is such a good part of this bestiary 36. Chaotic Gore Magala - the only beast I will not capture, just wish I had more memories with it 35. Dah'ren Mohran - I just adore this massive whale of the desert

Everyone is complaining about Velkhana’s ice breath going through her own walls, but did you know nothing actually stops it. I was on an elevated surface healing, when this thing decided to fire a beam underneath my feet. It managed to kill me from underneath the map, needless to say I was pissed
No one mentioned the dynamic hitzones for Soulseer? It’s great because it allows for the safer avoidant playstyle, trying to dodge all the bubbles to keep yourself safe, or the aggressive confident playstyle, that purposefully pops the bubbles to let Soulseer groom his claws and tail in enraged state, allowing for much higher dps on those parts but leaves the monster more dangerous as well.
And thus my Top Tier has peaked at 39 (minus a small few ahead) While my more popular favourites did end up falling quite a bit, my other favourites jumped up so damn high. Seeing Hellblade and Stygian up here was a welcome but expected outcome, but seeing Lunagaron and Zamtrios up where they belong for the back-to-back-to-back-to-back is the gratification I’ve been waiting for since this project began. Thank you everyone, I’m glad we share some solid sensibilities. Can’t wait to see whose next 💪
Lunagaron, Zamtrios, and Velkhana? We got 3 out of 4 ice armor monsters in this episode (Sorry Elderfrost). Winter is approaching fast, huh? And DANG the Zinogres fell down in the rankings. I expected him to, but not this much. 3 out of 4 of the Fated 4 members beat him (Again, sorry Gammoth, I hope you get your redemption in Wilds). I'm also surprised just how much people love Chameleos. Best of the Elder Trio, really? I don't dislike him at all, but apparently my order of favorites for the Elder Trio is opposite of how many others order them (Kushala 1st, Toaster 2nd, Chammy 3rd for me personally). Interesting.
@@linfa_mh It's funny to me as well that aside from Elderfrost, Zamtrios is the only one of the ice armor monsters to actually do the ARMOR thing by lowering the hitzones lol. Agree on Zamtrios being the best ice armor monster, but also just happy he's rated so great in general. Can't believe he wasn't in Rise with his kids!

Finally Stygian the colorer Zinogre design wise surpassing the original by a few spots, good to see you. On everyone else there were no real shockers

Holy crap, Zinogre fell down the ranks massively. But still, top 50 is nothing to scoff at. What surprise me is how Stygian Zinogre is ranked higher, usually the Subspecies/Variant/etc of a monster has been ranking lower then their original version.
Okay how the fuck is Seregios still in this? Don’t get me wrong love him favourite monster and all but what most consider one of the weakest flagships has beaten Rathalos, Nargacuga, Brachy, and goddamn ZINOGRE?? These past two videos I’ve just been waiting for Seregi to pop up and he just hasn’t. Again, happy for him, but this shouldn’t be possible.
I truly respect your admiration for this flying Wyvern. While it isn’t personally my favorite I’m really rooting for Seregios to make it far and prove them all wrong.

Greatest thing I've seen and we were not even top 40 was both Wolf Puppies out. Not that I hate them, but I do hate how freaking over saturated we are saying it's the best. Like yeah, Zinogre, wow Zinogre, aoooooooooo Zinogre... bench thunder puppy for the entire 6th gen so we can not get overloaded with it please Capcom.

I mean this is a relatively small community of people who participated in the polls... Don't be surprised to see repeat commenters. Plus it's also been said that comments are being chosen partly based on having good points and good insights, and more positive comments are usually chosen over negative ones since this is a "celebration" of sorts.
His criteria was to be positive mainly for the ones appearing in the video (a lot of people, including myself, are very passionate about the monster we despise), and most of these comments are descriptive. A lot of the others were one-sentence memes

This had basically all my favorites, Seltas Queen, Nakarkos, now I'm waiting for Ahtal ka
So many monsters from Sunbreak that I love that havent shown up yet. Shagaru and Crimsong Glow and their risens, either of the Malzenos, Amastu, Espinas. And to think Lunagaron would be top 40!? I guess this goes to show how people who enjoyed sunbreak think about the quality of fight design in their game.

This video has made me rather sad, which anyone who knows me surely knows why. I am surprised Seltas Queen got so high, pleasantly so mind you, and shocked Rajang is this low. Oh, and I wish Lunagaron wasn't this damn high - I really do not find it that great of a monster, mostly agreeing with the comment about how it feels like two decent monsters instead of a single good one.
44. Mizutsune - the aesthetic alone gets it many points, same with the ecology
43. Espinas - a very solid yet basic Flying Wyvern, a good flagship
42. Seltas Queen - like I said, glad she placed so high
41. Akantor - this thing just has so much intimidation going on
40. Viper Tobi-Kadachi - good armor, a very solid subspecies and some fond memories
39. Gaismagorm - one heck of a final boss with so much spectacle, but never wanted to go back and grind it
38. Zamtrios - this thing is just too unique not to adore
37. Nargacuga - not as big of a fan as many are, but it is such a good part of this bestiary
36. Chaotic Gore Magala - the only beast I will not capture, just wish I had more memories with it
35. Dah'ren Mohran - I just adore this massive whale of the desert

Everyone is complaining about Velkhana’s ice breath going through her own walls, but did you know nothing actually stops it. I was on an elevated surface healing, when this thing decided to fire a beam underneath my feet. It managed to kill me from underneath the map, needless to say I was pissed

No one mentioned the dynamic hitzones for Soulseer? It’s great because it allows for the safer avoidant playstyle, trying to dodge all the bubbles to keep yourself safe, or the aggressive confident playstyle, that purposefully pops the bubbles to let Soulseer groom his claws and tail in enraged state, allowing for much higher dps on those parts but leaves the monster more dangerous as well.
(and all the more reason why apex mizu sucks ass. Like, you remove not one but TWO of the gimmicks that made Soulseer so great?)
And thus my Top Tier has peaked at 39 (minus a small few ahead)
While my more popular favourites did end up falling quite a bit, my other favourites jumped up so damn high. Seeing Hellblade and Stygian up here was a welcome but expected outcome, but seeing Lunagaron and Zamtrios up where they belong for the back-to-back-to-back-to-back is the gratification I’ve been waiting for since this project began.
Thank you everyone, I’m glad we share some solid sensibilities.

Lunagaron, Zamtrios, and Velkhana? We got 3 out of 4 ice armor monsters in this episode (Sorry Elderfrost). Winter is approaching fast, huh?
And DANG the Zinogres fell down in the rankings. I expected him to, but not this much. 3 out of 4 of the Fated 4 members beat him (Again, sorry Gammoth, I hope you get your redemption in Wilds).
I'm also surprised just how much people love Chameleos. Best of the Elder Trio, really? I don't dislike him at all, but apparently my order of favorites for the Elder Trio is opposite of how many others order them (Kushala 1st, Toaster 2nd, Chammy 3rd for me personally). Interesting.

2) Zamtrios being the best ice armor monster fills me with joy.

How the mighty has fallen to no one's shock Zinogre is not number 1 and damn did the dude drop a ways down still love his fight though. On Velk happy to see got this far and the same to Zamtreos my favorite shark boy. Oh seething and savage not shocked they got this far. On Ranjang being right around here is where I guessed he would have been and I was proven right. Finally Stygian the colorer Zinogre design wise surpassing the original by a few spots, good to see you. On everyone else there were no real shockers

Holy crap, Zinogre fell down the ranks massively. But still, top 50 is nothing to scoff at.
What surprise me is how Stygian Zinogre is ranked higher, usually the Subspecies/Variant/etc of a monster has been ranking lower then their original version.
Okay how the fuck is Seregios still in this? Don’t get me wrong love him favourite monster and all but what most consider one of the weakest flagships has beaten Rathalos, Nargacuga, Brachy, and goddamn ZINOGRE?? These past two videos I’ve just been waiting for Seregi to pop up and he just hasn’t. Again, happy for him, but this shouldn’t be possible.
I truly respect your admiration for this flying Wyvern. While it isn’t personally my favorite I’m really rooting for Seregios to make it far and prove them all wrong.

I mean this is a relatively small community of people who participated in the polls... Don't be surprised to see repeat commenters. Plus it's also been said that comments are being chosen partly based on having good points and good insights, and more positive comments are usually chosen over negative ones since this is a "celebration" of sorts.
His criteria was to be positive mainly for the ones appearing in the video (a lot of people, including myself, are very passionate about the monster we despise), and most of these comments are descriptive. A lot of the others were one-sentence memes
