Cleanse your altar physically in case of germs and metaphysically with salt water, smoke sigils, and other cleanse basics because it's important to not only keep your altar clean but it's Very important that You cleanse like you would clean your phone, laptop or other stuff you do on a daily basis. This video was perfect timing for me. I had ignored my altar for months and when I finally focused my attention on it, it was appalling. I spent half a day cleaning everything, removing items I didn’t need, adding items I wanted, and after about four hours I felt a sense of peace and calm and happiness that I had finally cleaned up the space. My altar has been a mess for months now. What you said is so true. If your altar is a mess then you life is messy. True. I’ve never thought about it this way. On my first day off I’m going to clean up and organize my two altars. Thank you!!!!
What's kind of funny to me, is my room stays pretty cluttered and kind of messy, but my altar is always clean. It might not be perfectly decorated or look exactly how I wanted to, but I always keep it picked up. It's a one spot in my room that stays looking good LOL

Oh darling I know how you feel! I'm sorry to hear about your mom, it's such a hard loss. Some people don't know how to react when friends lose a loved one, so they distance themselves sometimes. It's difficult though because you really need people during that time! I know you'll get to the areas that need attention in time 💚 Much love to you!!
That's VERY TRUE, I have a few friends who have been thru this kinda loss but not many, and I just think their lucky to have NOT felt this yet💜 I have found more comfort with my gifts and connecting with the elements and nature, that fresh smell of outside good coffee ☕ and my pendulum or my cards along with my Bestie Payton, my 8 yr old furry pup 💜 and sitting my tablet near by to listen to my Sister's on here has been healing. I can't ignore August like I kinda wish, my daughter's bday is August 9th, and 13 day's later is my Mom's bday, they are my fire 🔥 my Leo's ♌ and MY bday is 9/13 lol I'ma Virgo ♍ but numbers have ALWAYS had meaning to my Mom and me, so it was a Big deal to US 💜💜🔥🔥♍♌♌💜💜 Anyway THANKS SO MUCH GIRL!!! A wise spirit being told me once, don’t set an altar you can not clean up. Magical mess is no helpful and can be messing up and feel too too hard to clean up - imagine how does the magic feels like at that point. Sometimes it happens, I admit we sometimes need to see our mess before clean up. How would one even know a path is clogged if one don’t notice it is, it feels very good afterwards - sometimes it is just straight up MESSY MESSY MESS. I am so happy you showed us your mess and how you plan taking care of it. The first step of clean up is the hardest for me, it really helps when you approach a mess with love and care.
For me, that looks aesthetically pleasing, but my practice is chaotic. I have been meaning to get a dresser so all my "altars" are in one space and not scattered around my apartment, wherever I can find space.

I like to change my alter depending on the seasons or holidays as my practice revolves around connecting with nature. I usually keep it pretty clean but sometimes it gets crowded as I tend to bring random sticks or rocks from hikes and give them to the gods. I have one big alter with two levels. First is where all my handmade wooden god idols I've made. The second is where I display all my animal skulls and has turned into an alter for hel. I'm wanting to have one for my ansestors or just basic magik stuff but I don't have much room at all as my stuff is all in one small room. At the moment it's set up for yule and winter
The At Home store has black glass cauldron-shaped candle holders this year. I bought one last week with a skull and crossbones charm on a string tied around the top. The cauldrons are about 3 inches tall and 3.5 inches across. The bottom is clear though, so I guess the black is painted on.

I'm unpacking and my altar has stuff just put on for now till I figure out where to put things in it's place in my new room. We also down size as well. I've been watching videos on storage ideas for small places in rentals. Great video, interesting timing for some of us. I also did a altar set up on my channel a few weeks ago but am planning on doing an up date on it around Mabon or Samhain time.
I actually put all of my witchcraft stuff away in a trunk for various reasons but if you want to take some shots from my channel feel free ^_^ I've been practicing for so long though that I have a humidifier and an empty candle jar and a 3d from puzzle on a bookshelf and have been toying with the thought of mundane spaces still being altars of sorts, that I put all my stuff away and I still feel like it's still out, but now that I think about it I still have different waters and a few other things on a shelf not nessisarly to do workings but because they were large bottles that didnt fit in the trunk and still has a vibe to it.

Dear Mint, I wonder if you have any advice for protection magic for people who are uncomfortable with confrontation - sometimes one needs to protect their boundaries- but is scared and poops the pants instead. 💩
Imma just say this real quick. First and foremost, there is NOT and has never been a "rule book" for practitioners of witchcraft. There are plenty of useful tips that are tried and true throughout generations but remember that ultimately NATURE, ENERGY and INTUITION are your teachers. Do not feel guilt or pressure for not practicing to the standards of someone else. Those who practice Anarchic or Chaos magic especially favor the sporadic nature of a strewn environment. So, those individuals may not benefit from Mint's messages throughout the video. These kinds of things can be a deeply personal decision because we practice in our own ways. I do however, agree in keeping non-altar items away from the altar. The altar is intended to be a place of sanctuary for many as well as a workable space. Turning your altar into a side table "catchall" IS a bit counterintuitive. Either way, keep in mind that when you are following suit or guidance from practicing creators, that you do not need to do anything that doesn't resonate with YOU. No pressure. No stress.

First and foremost, there is NOT and has never been a "rule book" for practitioners of witchcraft. There are plenty of useful tips that are tried and true throughout generations but remember that ultimately NATURE, ENERGY and INTUITION are your teachers. Do not feel guilt or pressure for not practicing to the standards of someone else.
Those who practice Anarchic or Chaos magic especially favor the sporadic nature of a strewn environment. So, those individuals may not benefit from Mint's messages throughout the video. These kinds of things can be a deeply personal decision because we practice in our own ways.
I do however, agree in keeping non-altar items away from the altar. The altar is intended to be a place of sanctuary for many as well as a workable space. Turning your altar into a side table "catchall" IS a bit counterintuitive.
Either way, keep in mind that when you are following suit or guidance from practicing creators, that you do not need to do anything that doesn't resonate with YOU. No pressure. No stress.
