I would say to look for rooms in Airbnbs or hostels. If you're coming for awhile though (over a month) you can get a really good discount through Airbnbs. Most places have a long term stay discount and we've stayed at places for under $60/night this way.
Canada is amazing, highly recommend if you can make it happen. A lot to see but BC and Alberta are highlights in my opinion. We are hoping to settle in Nelson NZ so hoping it's affordable compared to Auckland.
At this point I would recommend Canada over New Zealand but it depends what you're looking for. New Zealand has better weather overall so if the intense cold is a dealbreaker then NZ wins. Canada is better for travelling to Europe or the US, etc and NZ is pretty far away from everything else and is more expensive.
Tq for your new info 👍🙏
Thank you for watching!
Any tips on finding affordable accommodation in Auckland, I’m going soon and most I’ve seen is $440-600 per week NZD

Yes the city is very expensive, it’s cheaper in the small towns, I’d love to visit Canada 😊
