So glad I got to see this band live. It was bad ass. Such a surreal moment of my life. It’s was crazy good. Like I think about seeing them live and I get goosebumps.
Saw them in Berkeley, CA at the Greek Theatre. CHVRCHES played right after them. Towards the end of the concert, I complemented this girl on her overalls. She said she didn’t think they looked nice on her, but wanted to try them on and wear them out. I told her she looked amazing in them. The sweetest smile. Then her friends called her away and she left. I never saw her again.
Ruban has many self-built pedals on his board, and the uni-vibe is one of them. Here's a comment he made on one of his instagram posts: "the retro-vibe is a univibe clone like the pareidolia but it uses a bulb and carbon comp resistors so it sounds even more authentic. Its really a special pedal imho. Its like a phaser but really has its own sound. Pareidolia is more versatile and makes for an incredible tremolo. Neither change pitch." If you find photos it's the pinkish one with flowers painted on it.
John Nicholas nah, the song itself is amazing. But it's like the didn't soundcheck before this performance. Lots of things clashing. Not a very good balance of anything.
his vocals seem to clean/live for me. Use a Boss Vocal Processor or just bring out the Topanga Reverb and put it in a vox chain. Nothing wrong with too many effects live, Reuben
i agree (if you want-to fully) encompass his studio-vocal style. But i do have to say it's nice that we can clearly hear his lyrics (in a raw and organic fashion. he's got a very folk-y singing voice, almost that of fleet foxes, localnatives, or hozier, but without prominent harmonies.
Where's the bass drum, it should be played on like all of the ands to hold the song together, the drums do sound amazing though he just needs to phrase better, same for multi love playing straight quarter notes doesn't fit the song at all
I’m in a band with someone like you, who comes up with all these lame draining rules or thinks stuff needs to be a certain way for no reason. What you should’ve said is wow this drummer doesn’t play as basic as me lmao
Piece of genius. Pure gold or even opal
I’m in love with this group

Not Hell, it's just California
Sounds like a ton of uni-vibe on the faux sitar. Anybody know for sure? Maybe just a phaser???

I love this song but this sounds messy and all over the place.
100nujabes the messiness is what I love the most about the song

I followed it just fine.

ColRizz99 Everyone’s a critic😅
Including me, the guy who’s critiquing your critique.

funny. dude playing drums played on albums, yo. you'd think he'd know what he's doing.
