The Dead Leon EP3 - The Gearbox Blew Up!! How to remove a Leon/Golf/A3 Gearbox

He died again!
Unfortunately from day one of getting the car running I noticed there was a gearbox noise, and decided not to worry too much as it is after all a budget build.
Well the budget just went out the window. I have not looked at my invoices yet but the re-built gearbox and a Clutch and Dual Mass flywheel kit was well over £1,000. Ballz!!!
Anyway in this vid I will show you what I think is the most straightforward method of removing the gearbox. Video doesn't include refit, as its the same process in reverse and the video is already way too long anyway.
For those that argue you can do it with the subframe in place, yes you are right. But I find this method makes the job far simpler and less stressful to get the box out and in.
I would also like to say thank you to anyone who watches my videos and sincerely hope they help you in some way.
