    One of my favorite tracks from the early 80s.
    Save A Prayer by Duran Duran from the album Rio (1982)
    composed by Andy Taylor and Nick Rhodes, lyrics written by Simon Le Bon
    Featured the Roland Juno-60 Synthesizer (original Jupiter-8)
    This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
    My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.
    Check out the original songs with the original artists here on RUclips.
    Thank you.

    Sorry I’m late to the party. Just love your demo of this on the fantastic Juno 60. Your demos of songs are so spot on and just sound great. Love this synth, was used to make so many great records back then. As always blown away by what you do. Fantastic musician and fantastic synths bringing back the great music of the 80s.

    Gotta have the slapback delay on the arpeggio.
    The pitch bender should be set to 7 semitones at full throw, up. This makes the wobble hit the right pitch. A Roland Pitch bender is far easier than a wheel.
    Great job Mr RS

      Listening to it in the 80's, I had no clue how it was done. Listening to it now? Oh, that looks so simple!
      I've got a few patches on my JP-08 which are very close to what was used. The sequence that is played throughout the song uses a patch that sounds like it has a double gate. I haven't figured out what's going on, but it has a very distinctive sound that makes it much easier to play

    • @FatNorthernBigot
      @FatNorthernBigot 4 месяца назад +2

      @@CyranoJones509 I assumed it was an arpeggiator, but as it turns out, a nice, simple delay does the trick nicely. Having said all that, I was probably better off without the internet in other ways.

    • @CyranoJones509
      @CyranoJones509 4 месяца назад +1

      @@FatNorthernBigot I've been digging around. I didn't realize that my JP-08 has a built-in delay, and that's most likely what I'm hearing.
      It was surprising to watch Nick playing live. You hear so much synth going on, but most of it is merely sequencer.

    A Fairlight C.M.I. IIx was used for the sound at the beginning. At the end the Fairlight changes the sound pitches in a very weird way. You did a great job with the cover. The bend range is not correct for the lever. I know you make these covers when you have a chance. Another great person that does covers is DX-5
