Seeing Donkey Kong play his own game on 3DS makes you think. How can we be sure that Tropical Freeze isn't just some game that another Donkey Kong in a future Donkey Kong game is playing?
Are you saying that they will either remake this game for the 3DS or its successor, or that Donkey Kong will take out a Wii U and play it on the Gamepad?
So if Dk waits around long enough to play DK country returns 3D, then waits around long enough for his 3DS self to start playing his DS... We need to go deeper.

That is brilliant! Since I don't play two-player mode, and spend most of single-player using Dixie as a partner (unless I need to use the other characters for particular secrets), I'd never seen most of these animations before. Love the Cranky/DK combo animation!
I wonder if Fire Emblem: Awakening, Pokemon X and Y, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds aren't available in the jungle yet
On Fruity Factory you can see the stage from Donkey Kong 3 in the background. And on Frosty Fruit there is a tank from the Bowser stage in SMB3 in the background. :)
Goodness! They pulled out all the stops with those animations. Seeing DK play 3D Land was cool, as was Diddy Kong yawning and Dixie doing gymnatics. You have quite an eye for detail, Gamexplain. :)
Damn, if only Retro had modeled Dixie's guitar, would've made the animation even more awesome! Love how much detail they've put into this game, it's these little touches that make a game memorable. Don't see these kind of touches in Call of Duty, so many people are missing out on what real gaming is.

Retro expanded that old DS idle animation from DKCR and made it better. Love it. Having a 3DS XL instead of a standard DS was a given, but as mentioned, I'm not sure how many (including myself) would ever notice DK was actually playing 3DS titles on his 3DS XL...considering he didn't with his old DS in DKCR. Plus...I love that Cranky reads a newspaper; totally doesn't like modern tech still after twenty years. XD Got to admit, I love these idle animations and I'm still looking forward to Tropical Freeze.
This video made me so happy. This is proof of how much love Nintendo puts into their games. When in other ends there are studios that focus on squishing money out of your pocket prioritizing DLC over fixing glitches.
Did you notice that Diddy's first yawn noise kinda made the same noise that in Mario Strikers Charged if you get Toad off the field he'll make that same scream it's kinda similar to it
did you know in the first of the Mario games, when Mario gets the flower power up not only does he actually get the power up if you freeze it while he is getting the power up you can see him wearing Luigi's clothes
I just found this Cool Bit in Tropical Freeze. In World 1-3 when you find the path that leads to the secret exit you'll see a record player. Pound it with Y and the music will change to the original Donkey Kong Country intro theme.

The idle animations in DKC games are always fun and amusing (always loved when Diddy would do some fancy juggling in DKC2), and these are no exception. I can't wait to find out what other cool secrets are to be found in Tropical Freeze!
I think Diddy and Dixie are going to be paired like the Ice Climbers this time around. They were suppose to in Brawl but they had too many clipping through each other issues.
I have a Cool Bit. In Super Mario 3D World, the level Grumblump Inferno (World Bowser-7) has a little known secret. If you ground pound on the grumblumps they turn angry and go faster.

I love your guys' level of detail in your videos, and this one on idle animations in Tropical Freeze is no exception! As you mentioned in the video, I would probably never have noticed them despite being fully aware of the existence of idle animations; I always pause my game if I'm not around.
My cool bit, was when I was playing the Wii version of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat normally if you keep on hitting Rouge, Mo, Bloat, and Gloat Hog Donkey Kong will finish them off with a punch to the snout. But if punch or kick a melon at them when their hp is 10 or 5, they will atomically collapse, which I though was cool.

You mist 1 thing if you look at the opening cutsene you see a pinguin looking trou a telescope but if you pay atention to the background you see the layout is the same as the world map from donkey kong country returns
