    In continuation of this video, can u explain, when we need to use DC coupling, when we need to Use AC and ground coupling. It will be much appreciated sir

      This is easy to think too much on... It is a simple matter... When you are interested in the AC component of a signal, you use the AC Coupling function. In like manner, when you are interested in the DC component of a signal, you use the DC Coupling function. Very often, when troubleshooting a circuit, you will look at both components, AC and DC. Here is an example of that... You are looking at the output of an audio amplifier, which is AC. The circuit contains a capacitor in series to block any DC from reaching the speaker, because DC will destroy a speaker. So, you use AC Coupling to see that the amplifier is outputting the audio signal correctly. Then, you switch to DC coupling to make sure that the amplifier is not outputting any stray DC voltage. If it is, the amplifier has a fault of some type. I hope this helps your understanding.

    Wow! Thank you. So easily explained. I ran to my o-scope immediately to practice what you just taught me as a beginner hobbyist.

    This is an excellent teaching. Your explanation was presented differently than most and this led to new learning for me. Good for you! Also, using actual AC and DC supplies and displaying them separately and together on the scope made the subject much more understandable than just the typical spoken lecture. Three cheers for you!

    Watched a video showing DC coupling with sawtooth via a function generator, but when switch to Ground coupling the baseline aligned immediately on the Zero Volt baseline of the DC Zero volt line. Yours as well as mine does not do that. I do not understand how to get it to align.

    What is practical usage of ground coupling?

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  2 года назад +3

      1. it is used to calibrate the oscilloscope
      2. and it is to verify the trace-line position, when a signal is connected, and we want to verify the exact value of the signal. at time, switching to ground coupling, gives the trace zero line and when we switch back to signal value, we become to know the signal actual value
