Hi John. First thank you for awesome content. From where I am standing your advice really is the best possible for aspiring counsellors & already
.established professionals.Iam still very far from my dream goal of practicing as a counsellor, but would appreciate your view Over of any other in regards to my situation. I have chosen to go down the route of a BSc in Psychology & Counselling due to the fact I am interested in the research side of things as well as the theory & practice of Counselling. The main issue with this route is I do not get a placement to gain practice hours of experience in a practice setting. What I wanted to know was in your experience and knowledge is what I can do at this early stage (half way through my undergrad) to gain experience that will give me a head start at the end of my degree? Or will I have to take other courses that are not related to my degree. It seems harsh as I could of taken a foundation degree that is only 240 credits which would of cost less & been quicker but with the added couple of hundred hour practical experience. When I finish my degree earning money is important but not my driving factor as this is what I really want to do & money will be a bonus. Iam not sure if this is the right attitude to have but if I one day get paid to do this then that will be the icing on the cake. I am Mark & am from England by the way. Thanks John.
