Been playing tekken 7 from two years but things never clicked to my head whenever i tried to backdash and on top of that Due to my slow pickup habit i sucked at movement but thanks to you man, now i got everything right , i was just cancelling my backdash way too earlier and that gave my guy a sloppy movement. After following your method now i can do backdash correctly 75% of the time. your guidance was flawless!!!!
Thank you! The slight tweak to bring it back up to register the final back input was what I suspected but no other tutorial verified it! I was confused about the free back input and I was getting a lot of d/db/n inputs that ended my kbd. I was even looking at getting a Korean stick in case my lever wasn't suitable. Thanks again
Just changed my lever and this doesn't work anymore. Feels like the new Sanwa I got is much stiffer that you have to deliberately hold back before releasing.
finally figured out what i did wrong, i tend to do back, DOWN, down forward, and then letting go, while it should have been back, down forward immediately from the back input and then letting go.. wtf hahaha, thanks for the video!
@@shaggykiwi you’re welcome just a disclaimer as I am new and just started arcade stick you should verify with op. But I’m using reina so it feels like it works
I just switch to arcade stick... on sanwa lever... sanwa lever is really hard to hit the execution... i dont know why but may be bcos of the absence of metal lever in it's microswitches

@@MoochMVP It can help to stretch your hands and warm them up a bit. I think doing more motion with your arm instead of your wrist can help too. Dont know if this is what your looking for.

Korean stick or Japanese stick will works on all fighting games yes, and most shoot-em-ups ( Shmups) as for regular games it might work but it would be trublesome to play anything 3D that needed camera scrolling with the other right stick, for 2D platformers it should work just fine.
i know the video is more than a year old, but something i struggle is the timing for the 2nd player kbd. do you know the bpm or the kbd/minute of the motion? on 1st player I do on the fasttest way possible and get consistent backdashs but if i try the same speed on P2, the inputs are correct on screen but the backdash wont come out
@@davidcervantes7417 if you play games on console mostly, controller will be more natural. If you are a pc gamer, mixbox might be easier. You can be good on controller or mixbox, it’s what you feel most comfortable using.
im having the same problem. pretty sure you need to release the stick so it comes off down first, then you get a back input on its way back to neutral. its a very subtle difference from just releasing back to neutral
Thanks, this was helpful. I’m assuming speed comes with repetition. I can KBD on pad all day, but I picked up a Panthera as a way of challenging myself and it’s been kicking my ass.
ndiluso I picked up my Panthera on Black Friday so I’ve had some time to get use to the motion, I’m pretty 50/50 right now. My input is pretty choppy, my problem is giving the slight nudge back for the second b input. I’ve seen some people do it by just barely hitting the db enough for it to register and it will automatically give you the second b input, but that also gives me issues. Idk how to fix it, I try slow reps but the second I start to try and add any speed my inputs start flying everywhere.
@@velocity6306 How are you going now? It takes time, but you might be having problems trying to recreate what he is doing 1:1. He's using a korean lever which have different microswitches and tension. The default lever that comes with a Panthera is a Japanese lever. They're pretty different in feel, and aren't constantly pushing against your hand when you move it (at least noticeably). A Korean lever is applying pressure to your hand so instead of forcing it into the "back" switch during the korean back dash you just guide it as youre releasing from "down back" to the neutral position. If you're still struggling I'd suggest getting a higher tension spring for your lever, or investing in a korean lever.
ed still just having trouble with consistency, that’s the biggest issue by far. I’ll get in a rhythm and then overthink the input and my execution will go down the drain.

i find 2p side easier because you just genuinely like pushing the stick unlike with the 1p where you kind of need to grab it with your fingers
