    as an 18 year old kid who plays a shit ton of video games, guitar, and has had several traumatic wrist injuries (broken arm+wrist bones, healed mostly okay) my hands hurt all the time. just try and take care of them. i mostly do very deep self-massage and stretching, trying to remove any built up scar tissue from repetitive use and/or injury, and slowly stretching to increase mobility. it has improved the apparent health of my hands/wrists incredibly, and it allows me to still improve COMFORTABLY WITHOUT PAIN at what i wanna do in the first place. guitar, tekken, elden ring, etc.

      @Baby gimme Feet im glad you're doing better man. for me it meant a lot at the time, i took it upon myself to improve how i was doing in a healthy way. its exhilarating to enjoy and be taking care of yourself, and i think we all should strive for that before it kicks our ass in the long run

    I'm a very average player at Tekken but I'm sure of one thing : after years of stick practicing, I switched to a lever less 3 years ago (modified an Hori RAP4 by changing the pannel and adding an SOCD Cleaner) and all the pain I could have by playing with a stick is totally removed now. I have some arthresis problems so it's a real releaf to have found this alternative. 😉

      Do you get any pains from playing leverless?

    • @ogamitaicho77
      @ogamitaicho77 Год назад

      @@cfcombomagik9292 I had very few "tensions" in the forearm at very first but very few comparing with my sticks. Maybe the time to the muscles to adapt. My left wrist and left thumb were painful with sticks but now with my leverless controller all these pain have disapeared so far so I will keep going. My leverless controller is based on a HRAP4 stick. I hope that the PCB will be natively PS5 compatible on Tekken 8. 😉

    What an absolute coincidence getting this video now. I recently got myself an Arcade stick after playing with keyboard for a while and I'm currently trying to practice and get my hand used it.
    I've been trying to try out the different grips, and the pinky and ring finger between the stick feels the best. Though a bat lever stick (thing??) is probably super different from the ball one.
    It's been a ride of fun and frustrating since I play 2D fighting games with tekken on the side. It's a very interesting video

      Goodluck with the stick! For me it took me atleast a month to get to the level where I was with the keyboard execution and muscle memory-wise.

      Ive got a bat lever and an octagonal gate, you can change them quite easily (assuming you bought a square gate) so feel free to experiment. What I've found is that the ball players tend to stay within the deadzone to activation zone and bat players stay on the edge. I quite enjoy slamming the edges but it can be tough to get used to early on.
      Make sure you practice both sides! Wavu wavu are quite satisfying on 2p

      Using a bat top and a Korean joystick:
      You can use the most accurate parts of your hand (index finger and thumb) in a natural position and because it's higher up you have more leverage.
      Korean sticks don't use the same type of pivot and spring that Japanese sticks use but a grommit and they return the middle differently. It's very good for tekken because because the return to center is bouncier it's very good for rhytmic movements like wavedashes and backdashes.
      Using a ball top and a Japanese joystick:
      The ball top part sits between your index and middle finger and your thumb sits lower than it would on a bat top. Even though technically you have less leverage than on a bat top it doesn'r make a big difference because Japanese sticks are used in a different way. Japanese sticks require a higher degree of control/accuracy to work well but it's really comfortable to use once your muscle memory learns the directions and motions.
      Neither option is wrong or worse. It's all about preference and what keeps you excited to play. I personally fell in love with Tekken and other arcade games playing them in Japanese arcades and i will always be loyal to Japanese ball top joysticks no matter what superior input methods will come in the future because that was my arcade experience growing up. I use a Seimitsu LSX-Nobi-Pro. It comes with a bat top installed but i use it with a ball top. It's the absolute best Japanese joystick option for fighting games.

    For my 2 years of experience with stick since I've transitioned from pad, I always find JDCR's grip as very "universal" because of how light he grips his lever, and whenever I am trying to sort of imitate his grip, I feel like a clunky 9th Kyu player. Maybe because of grommet tension (I have 35A blue tension)? Anyway, I wanted to adapt to his grip, but I am having a hard time. Any tips guys?

    • @mikeythefistmusic
      @mikeythefistmusic 11 часов назад

      Sooo I’m in the same boat as you, I’ve been on stick for about a year and some change in total. My grip is quite like his but I have a golden Fanta lever with a customized yellow dual tension grommet. It has harder tension on the cardinals but soft diagonals which allows me not to have to hit the actuator as hard. I would suggest going with a lighter grommet so you can have some better comfort in your wrist.

    This is the biggest advertisement for leverless controllers I've seen. I already use one. I always hated "pushing" the stick towards the right, for example to do IAD (forward, upforward, neutral, forward) in melty blood. It's great and very easy on a leverless. Even my KBD is better, after a week or two of effort. When you push the stick with the palm, you have less control. If you grip with the hand, your tendons are tensed up. With a stick you are always making compromises.
