I didn't make this video for RUclips, I made this video so I wouldn't have to stop and explain this every time I'm asked. ... Then I uploaded it to RUclips.
It goes like this: if you get comfortable doing it slowly for a few hours, you can get comfortable doing it fast in just a few more. if you try to do it fast before you can do it slowly, you'll be struggling to do it correctly forever.
Your video came along right when I needed It. If you happen to be at CEO I hope I could run sets with you, that honestly is a big goal of mine. Thanks again
Except that it doesn't feature MYK and isn't like 3-10 hours long literally all they would talk about his frames to an audience that didn't even know how to move. So I ended up learning a bunch of frame data and crush properties and I didn't know the basics of the game
That's how you make a proper tutorial video. Speedkicks just actually knows how the mind of someone who can't kbd works like. Pros usually skip a few but vital specific details in their explanations thinking "they're too obvious" or "just happen naturally!"
This is by far the best KBD tutorial till date. I have been struggling with KBD for weeks and this has made me do it in just few mins. Slow but consistent. Now just need to pick up speed as I go. Thank you Mr. Speedkicks. Really appreciated!
This is the only video that I've found that clearly breaks down both the reason for each input, and the implementation. The explanation of the timing is particularly excellent. I wish I had found this video years ago. It needs to be higher up in the recommendations when searching for KBD tutorials.
Long time legacy player here, been trying to learn KBD for about a week now. After watching this video I had the technique down in about ten minutes. Speedkicks dude, you're a god. Now time to get it up to speed...
@@KnakuanaRka True, but then I'm hardly new to the franchise and had already been putting in time attempting to learn. Honestly I'm still only just beginning to incorporate advanced movement into my core gameplay even after playing namco games for the better part of two decades
Musicians! Use a metronome and practice like you are practicing your instrument. It helped me learn this in about 2 days practicing about 20 minutes each day.
4 years later and no planes to catch the day after but a working shift for sure, the 2 am comment at the end hit me bad as it’s 1.48 am damn dude good night and thanks for
I know it's been over a year since this video was made but this is by far the most helpful guide for this I've seen. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Taught me a valuable lesson on patience too!
This is an amazing tutorial. I always did the poor man's backdash and did it as a reverse wavedash. But this video is so clear and helpful. I'll get to practicing step 1 right away. Amazing video
Thanks for this awesome video, tekken does not have a tutorial and this types of videos is really what we need... simple, entertaining and informative. Thanks!
@@AMRJR4588 I grew up flirting with fighting games, never really got into them because I never had people to play with and was always WAY too bad to play online.
I love how you convey your humor through text. It’s extremely impressive. Lmao. I came from the PhiDx video to get better insight from the OG and it was really informative. Especially on the importance of the neutral within the backdash. I’m going to take it slow and really practice this. Thanks. :D
A shitty video that 100% helped me practice and get used to a proper Korean BD better then any video I've watched up to this point. Thanks so much dood
Low quality video, produces something better than I can. Mate, this is quality video with the 1, 2 and 3 of kbd. For a newbie like me who's just playing casually, I couldn't ask for a better video. Thanks.
God, can I make this but for reverse aerial rushdown in Smash? Holy hell this is perfect for explaining the *simplest* of things, godspeed you beautiful bastard. Never wanted to play Tekken in my life and still watched all 9 mins.
Awesome video! Going through this the right way has helped me correct my form a lot. I would recommend other people learning to after going through the exercises here, practice doing a single forward dash and then instantly switching to a kbd. This was helpful for me because I noticed my inputs spazzed out during the first kbd burst after switching directions.
This along with your using practice mode video has made me improve more in a week than I did with months of getting the brakes beat off of me me in player matches then trying to lab scenarios. Thanks amigo.
Awesome vid! I like so many others think the way you break things down is one of the greatest qualities about your videos. Love the commentary vids as well...and the funny thing is I don't even play Tekken! LMAO! I play MK11 for fun (it's fun at times) but these vids help me and before I saw this vid, this is how I taught myself Jax's quad throw and can pull it off quite nicely off the muscle memory I built. I'm going to continue my Speedkicks binge!
This is simply the best KBD tutorial I've seen I now understand so much. So good that deserves my first comment ever! Or at least the first comment in more than 10 years
When I wanted to learn this, the struggle was interpreting the animation to the input I was doing, I looked up videos could do the input but was struggling on why I couldn't match the pros but honestly this video here helped me now I can KBD swiftly
Ty very much for the video, i'm trying to learn how to play and become as good as i am able too. This video is very clear and i can't tell you how much i appreciate it.
Better than any of the other guides I've found. (I've been trying it too fast and doing qcb since legit the other guides mentioned it as another option.) I don't mind taking the extra time. Actually, thank you for stressing the fact that we need to take our time, or else I'd've been trying part 2 at full speed for hours and calling it progress.
NOT A TERRIBLE VIDEO. FOR YEARS I thought it wasn't really possible for me to KBD .... LIKE YEEEEAAARS, let alone on Pad. I would always bbd, bbd, bbd lol ...Now I have actually begun to start to learn this. Thanks.
Learned how to kbd 2 weeks after picking up tekken 7. It was my first tekken game and I watched the Core-A video with UYU YUYU. Taught me the basics and also explained the backdash with command history as a guide.
Lol so day 1: I can get the inputs to come out accurately so I tried step 2. And I can’t perform db~b~n~b in one motion 😤. When I attempt step 2 my inputs gets sloppy. When I go back to step 1, they’re clean.
Wanted to update: After a full week I’ve averaged 30min-1hour minimum each day of just this. Step 1 is really easy for me to do on both sides, which is good. Step 2 is better for both sides but I can tell I need to really hammer the muscle memory. I tried to increase the rhythm with little success but honestly im in no rush to learn this. Excited to see what 90 days looks like. Thank you so much Speedkicks
Week 2: it’s getting easier now. I can practice while listening to music or watching anime. I alternate between all of the steps. Step 1 to train for accuracy, step 2 to train for the muscle memory, and step 3 for rhythm and endurance. Also P2 side interestingly enough is easier than P1 side. Thanks again speedkicks
Week 6: I can kbd….kinda lol player 1 vs player 2 feels totally different but both sides I can somewhat move backwards at a decent pace. However inside an actual fight it seems my execution fails me and I need to work on doing this when it matters. I also have to learn when’s a good time to even kbd because if I’m too close the opponent will just hit me anyway.
Today I master this! So no speedkicks, I am not going to keep watching to get the rhythm you're about to explain. I'm on break from playing tekken(started a year ago and been going non-stop) but this is the perfect time for me to do this because I don't feel like being in battles. So starting the timer for four hours straight of learning this and then I'll be back! OSU!
(: came here after watching phidx's kbd video future me will thank you for your poor life choices of making this video as current me will begin the struggle
Annnnnd.... now I can do it. Very important that whole part about not having to let go of the b to get the d/b input. I've had extremely inconsistent results trying to get a simultaneous d/b input. Turns out it was only working when I was doing it wrong at doing it wrong. That's a sub from me.
Damn I was doing it wrong the whole time lol. I didnt realize that I dont have to go neutral after every command. I had difficulty of pulling kbd with the wrong method I've been doing which is b,n,b,n,d/b,n,b,n,d/b... This really helped me. Thanks speedkicks
One thing I think is missing, is that After the initial backdash, from the neutral ( where you press b,b,db,b ) the next backdash shouldn’t start with a b,b.. instead with b,db,b, as you’re already backdashing. And it gets straight to the point without pointless jokes and facial emoji thumbnails.
