Incidents happen all of the time in motorsport. Some, though, are much bigger than the rest. These are the most spectacular of all. At this time I wish to offer a message of support for Memo Gidley after his horrific crash at Daytona

7:50 cameraman nearly gets taken out and in a few seconds, he is back zooming in. As a cameraman myself I recognise his effort there!

Probably a Remote Camera. There's no way they would staff a manned camera position at that level and exposed on the track.
I work for a track rescue team as an EMT and we do everything from NASCAR to motor cross at our track. It's pretty interesting to watch the different types of cars and how they react in a crash. Those drivers are lucky and that one that got rear-ended at over 100mph, wow.

I love motorsport, and it will never cease to amaze me that someone actually finishes an Indycar/Nascar event. Apologies for my slight ignorance but am not totally sure of the difference. I am sure that there is a willing individual who can educate me on the differences. As for NASCAR/Indycar, Indy is the open-wheel, open-cockpit F1 rival from North America. NASCAR is the big stock-car racing scene (predominantly on oval tracks)

I'm surprised there weren't more Nascar clips. It's a gold mine for crazy crashes. Multiple cars involved, cars sliding on their roof, flying through the air, into the catch fence, cars don't barrel rolls down the back stretch of Talladega. Crazy shit happens when you are going 190mph+
Only Americans follow nascar.
That really was a beautiful start in the first clip. Perfect launch, surgical split, dude was fucking gone.
It's amazing that Memo Gidley is actually up and walking around after that smash...
I remember watching that live on tv. And I couldn't believe he survived let alone is up and doing well for himself. One of the more brutal crashes ive watched.
THE CAMERA MAN FOR THE INDY CLIP AT 7:00 IS A LEGEND. DUDE NEVER STOPPED CONTROLLING THE CAMERA AS A CAR COMES RIGHT AT HIM
Seems remote controlled to me, there is no one near the camera in the next shot.
5:17 That rear brake is always a dangerous one in such High-speed Rain-water tracks !
It was caused by the rear wheel aquaplaning on that puddle right next to the curb. No reason to brake there.

I watch some of these clips and I wonder why the race organisers allow them to even start,it is obvious in some cases that the track conditions are awful,but I suppose it is in the drivers blood not just to win and beat his competitors but the weather also. Admittedly in this upload there are not to many instances like that, but in some videos it is always the track/road conditions. Thanks for another entertaining upload and I hope nobody was seriously hurt.

When watching a video you really get to immerse yourself in it with the original audio. You get a much better insight of what youre looking at. Not every video should have theatrics all the time, its good to see raw footage sometimes. Thank you for not adding music

@@dls55593 Are you blind or something? They both went into that corner almost at the same time, Sato goes loose and Dario who was right behind him couldn't avoid him, causing the accident. It wasn't intentional and just a race incident.
Things happen. Once happened you can't prevent them.
The actual sound of that crash was pure madness,.. it sounded like a building collapsed
