Please Father encourage everyone in your parish go to daily mass for us because we cannot go to mass, even on Sundays. I am from Manila, Philippines and we are not allowed to go out. I think Singapore and other SE Asian countries also do not have masses. Initially I thought, "Saddest Lent ever!" then I realized we are with our Lord in the desert. The Lord is making us hungrier for Him by allowing us not to receive Him. And so I began to be happy again. That said, please do everything you can for us.
During this time being a Catholic is really giving me strength, I hope the virus won't affect our family but I pray for everyone that does get affected , pray the Rosary to our lady , she's the queen of comfort

I grew up Catholic. I was starting to get bored of the religion. Most sermons I found were boring and felt I never received the word BUT this sermon was amazing!!!!! I feel it woke me up. GOD IS AMAZING!!!!!!! I will continue to live in his light. Amen!
We need to recognize the humanity of people around the world. This is this generation’s first pandemic. I thank God for my parents and grandmother, who taught us canning, making do with the basics: flour, rice, baking soda, oil, dry beans, canned juice and powdered milk. Dried eggs, pasta, ramen, dried fruits and vegetables, nuts. Used to get K rations and jerky from the surplus store. More than all that, the Living Word of God. As long as we all pray for each other every night, we will be okay. Nineveh repented, so can us. Love is the greatest commandment.
How can you say that? Faith can help one “handle” the sickness and most of the time one will recover: however there will be a time when one succumbs to the sickness/disease and die and hopefully rise into eternal glory depending on how one has loved God and loved their neighbor. That’s the purpose of life, it’s relatively simple, yet chaotic at the same time depending on one’s situation to be born into. Peace and Health

That was the best sermon I have ever heard. As a father myself, it was so upsetting but powerful. The thought of losing one of my children is gut wrenching. Most interesting was how people responded to the sacrifice of the son was a brilliant simile about the death of our Lord.

And Sue is correct in saying that the Catholics ministered to Native Americans and helped them. Please read some actual history on these subjects if you are to comment instead of speculating the false narratives that media drive. Also I would suggest you read the history of Our Lady of Guadalupe and how over 10 million Mexican people converted over a span of 10 years from a life of worship of pagan gods which included thousand being murdered through human sacrifice to the false gods. I am proud to say that I have been saved through faith in Christ and not through works. Ephesians 2:8-10 says, “For it is by Grace that you have been saved, THROUGH FAITH- and this is not from yourselves, IT IS A GIFT FROM GOD- not by works, so that no one can boast. Jesus uses the least gifted, the most unlikely, the poor and the humble to spread his Gospel. As I used to pray as a kid, “LORD I am not worth to receive you, but only say the word and I will be healed.” I am a Christian, not a Catholic!
I think the story was more aimed towards God the Father. The Father knew he needed to give his only Son to save mankind. And the story goes on after the sacrifice to show how people responded to that sacrifice... posing the question, "is this how the Father feels" when people say 'the mass is boring' or refuse to go.

Catholics pray the Rosary, but there are good prayers at World Vision site, and you can google prayer. Fathers, now that this virus has brought your precious family together, pray the Lord’s Prayer as a family. You and your wife can pray before you sleep. It is guaranteed to bring you closer together.

That was the best sermon I have ever heard. As a father myself, it was so upsetting but powerful. The thought of losing one of my children is gut wrenching. Most interesting was how people responded to the sacrifice of the son was a brilliant simile about the death of our Lord.

Randy Couch Actually, The Catholic Church was persecuted in the early part of this country. Since most of the immigrants were Protestant coming from Europe. And Sue is correct in saying that the Catholics ministered to Native Americans and helped them. Please read some actual history on these subjects if you are to comment instead of speculating the false narratives that media drive. Also I would suggest you read the history of Our Lady of Guadalupe and how over 10 million Mexican people converted over a span of 10 years from a life of worship of pagan gods which included thousand being murdered through human sacrifice to the false gods. I am proud to say that I have been saved through faith in Christ and not through works. Ephesians 2:8-10 says, “For it is by Grace that you have been saved, THROUGH FAITH- and this is not from yourselves, IT IS A GIFT FROM GOD- not by works, so that no one can boast. Jesus uses the least gifted, the most unlikely, the poor and the humble to spread his Gospel. As I used to pray as a kid, “LORD I am not worth to receive you, but only say the word and I will be healed.” I am a Christian, not a Catholic!

I think the story was more aimed towards God the Father. The Father knew he needed to give his only Son to save mankind. And the story goes on after the sacrifice to show how people responded to that sacrifice... posing the question, "is this how the Father feels" when people say 'the mass is boring' or refuse to go.
