The hardest part of making videos like these is not being able to see what the camera sees. I have a GoPro. The GoPro Quik phone app's camera control allows you to see previews of what the camera is seeing. I'm thinking about fastening my phone to the extension/monopod so I can see what I'm recording. Side note: out occurred to me last night that the app would also let me use the GoPro as a rear view camera while I'm riding my scooter with my phone mounted on my handlebars. : ) You're awesome, Zdenka! Thanks, again!

Zdenka, as usual, you are so down-to-earth that you cannot help but inspire others. I will now have to go back to see how I can do some work with my spare iPhone 10, Feiyu-Tech Vimble 2 (yes, it's a few years old but still works), and my monopod (from 2012) in the restricted environment during this pandemic. It's 10:30pm on Saturday night here, so I will only be able to do something about this tomorrow and try some of the techniques in your video. The visual perspectives you created is simple (cos' you showed us how) yet has a professional feel in the eye of the viewer. Thank you, and stay safe.
Hi, Zdenca may i know what the brand of extension monopod you used and please give me the description and the link where you'd bought it. Nice filming tutorials really helps a lot. Thanks 😊😊😊😊
Another fantastic presentation~! Very detailed and easy to understand. I use my light weight tripod for creating the drone effects using the Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal since I don't have a good monopod yet. It extends up to 9 feet and can also be used for steady pan shots. I have also made a zip line cable cam device for added shots. Still practicing to get the perfect shots with suitable environments. Haven't been able to travel due to the pandemic, but still trying. The most important part actually comes 'after' you have all the shots and that's the post processing. Experimenting with some free software currently and trying to learn the fine details and how it drastically changes the whole picture. Editing the film to make it look perfect is also the key to a great production. Thank you Zdenka, for continuously guiding newbies like us~! :) Stay Safe :)
@@ZdenkaDarula No, I'am practicing on Wondershare Filmora. :) This is good for learning basics and it's not too heavy on my laptop for processing. :) It also has a clean interface easy to understand.
Thanks Zdenka for solving in this video the one disappointment with the Hohem isteady X2 - that the tilt angle limit is way too small to do a jib style monopod shot looking forward then rise up with the camera still looking forward. One query, when you add the small fixed bracket then is the gimbal able to adjust tilt sufficiently to look to the horizon once your monopod is almost vertical at it's full height?
Excellent video, Zdenka! I bought my first GoPro last spring to mount on my mobility scooter to record traffic while crossing intersections (most of them are 6 lanes) and to record sidewalk conditions (potholes, ramps or no ramps, and end of sidewalk, etc.). BUT I recently bought a remote and an extension/monopod). The other day, I tried some of your techniques. What you didn't mention was building up muscle strength in your hands, arms, and legs. I need to work on steadiness! (I don't have --- and can't afford --- a gimbal.) I was relatively happy with my first attempts, but was interrupted in the middle of practicing. I'll definitely go back for another try. Thank you so much for sharing these videos!
