Hello, I'm Lyft's driver. I'll tell you. Lyft takes 70% and gives 30% to the driver. And when the car gets stuck in traffic, it charges passengers for traffic and gets all the money, but only about 0.45 cents to the driver. And when it arrives, it takes 5 minutes, which also charges passengers a lot of money and gives drivers 0.07 cents. Lyft and Uber need a thorough investigation

I'm going to mention this to Sergio from the Rideshare Guy channel. Logging off and on and also pressing "last ride" is key to keep the surge going. If ALL DRIVERS WOULD DO THIS, WE ALL WOULD MAKE BETTER MONEY. Like maybe everyone logging off every 10 mns for about 2 or 4 mns in a busy or semi busy zone. Surge would double or triple.
You deserve more followers, good video sir.

This sounds logical because the platform starts off with the lowest wage. But if everyone rejects it then they increase the price. It's a marketplace when there are more buyers the price goes down but when the price goes up the demand for drivers increases. But we as drivers want to buy low and sell high. In other words we want to go the lowest distance for the highest price. But Ober has a way of bundling two or three rides or two or three deliveries for one price and rejecting the last one becomes difficult when the first one is accepted because all bundled together but you would not have known that from the beginning of accepting the order not necessarily rides. Those brainiacs develop this algorithm to maximize profit for the company while we become their slaves.

    • @Rattlsnke
      @Rattlsnke Год назад

I have no idea how this works, but I do usually add stops once I’m in the car. I often get “free” rides too because they don’t want to leave me without having a stop in the app, they will just decline other rides and end up turning the app off. I made my last Uber driver cry. She picked me up from the mall, drop me to the liquor store, then to the pharmacy, to the gas station, and then to my condo. I haven’t had a hug like that in so long. She was absolutely the sweetest and I’ll never forget her and I’m 100% sure she won’t forget me either. I ended up tipping her $40 in the end. The driver who took me to the mall gave me his number and told me if I ever needed anything I could just call. Generally I tip $20 in cash, but she deserved that after our experience together and just for who she is as a person. I only get $600 a month on disability, but I know y’all don’t get tipped enough. I always try my hardest to make people smile. Three rides ago my driver only spoke Spanish so I was looking up things to say to him. Sé un poco de español, so it was a great ride. I miss driving so much, but I have a shattered leg. Thankfully I absolutely adore Uber drivers. Still maintaining my 5 stars. ✨🧚🏻‍♀️

Sorry for the rant. I guess there is some advice on how to be a good passenger. Between the first two I mentioned…I had her nearly get in two accidents because she was on her phone the whole time trying to show me photos of her family. She also did a u-turn in the middle of a busy 50mph road. Luckily I am the type of person that says, “you go girl,” in response to these things. He broke two of the terms and conditions by promoting a competitor app and giving me his number to take me off of the app. I do have a personal shopper I stole from DoorDash. The other day I had someone with another passenger in the car. The only thing against the terms and conditions that people frequently break that annoys me is the last thing I mentioned. I’d never report anyone though. They could hold a gun to my head or start stroking and I still wouldn’t.

My quick math for rides is: I multiply what I’m getting paid by 2. Then I add the time for pick up and drop off. If the time is not the same or less I don’t do it. All this I do it quick before I accept or decline. With this method I average $30-$37 an hour in Chicago.

    • @indoooooo30
      @indoooooo30 Год назад +9

@@puccan479 There is absolutely a need for the calculation. Your rate is never consistent. You shouldn’t accept offers for less than $1.00 per mile. Then before you accept those, you should be making sure your hourly rate is going to be at least $30. If you aren’t doing that, Uber is taking advantage of your impatience. Then again, you also shouldn’t wait to earn $1.50 a mile, because those will rarely come. There is a earnings sweet spot.

I would make almost 100 dollars on 1/4 tank of gas and then working on my next 100. I have made $289 in one day working like 10 hours with breaks, and I cherry pick. but nowadays those large orders with short distances rarely come up. I remember one night I was getting back to back wendys orders for $40, two deliveries in under 30 minutes. I got 4 of those orders back to back. I made over 100 dollars in like 1 hour and a half. A lot of people don't understand the difference between slave labor and "independent contractor". We are not independent because if we reject all the orders we don't want because it does not pay, we will be off the platform. That was why the message came up after all those rejection asking "are you still online" The algorithm works by taking the amount of rejection dividing it into the number of acceptance. When the rejection rate is higher than the acceptance rate, you will be off the platform. There is no 2 ways around it. And if you call the Philippines and talk to those people who always say the same thing like a robot, there's nothing they can do about it.

My personal hours are wayyy more valuable than that. If someone offered you an $8.50 per hour job cash you probably would not take it. He’s working for far less than $8.50 an hour and he thinks he is maximizing his efforts. It’s kinda sad.

Unfortunately, we don't have enough time to calculate the distance It might be helpful to know The Dollar Mile Ratio = (Fuel Cost per Gallon) / (Miles per Gallon)
Fuel Efficiency: Your vehicle has a fuel efficiency of 30 miles per gallon (MPG).
Fuel Cost: The current fuel cost is $3.00 per gallon.
Distance: You plan to drive a total of 300 miles.
Now, let's calculate the dollar mile ratio and assess profitability:
Step 1: Calculate the fuel consumption for the total distance.
Fuel consumption = Total distance / MPG
    Fuel consumption = 300 miles / 30 MPG = 10 gallons
Step 2: Calculate the fuel cost for the total distance.
Fuel cost = Fuel consumption * Fuel cost per gallon
    Fuel cost = 10 gallons * $3.00/gallon = $30.00
Step 3: Calculate the dollar mile ratio.
Dollar Mile Ratio = Fuel cost / Total distance
    Dollar Mile Ratio = $30.00 / 300 miles = $0.10 per mile
In this example, the dollar mile ratio is $0.10 per mile. To be profitable, you would need to earn more than $0.10 per mile in revenue or earnings. If, for instance, you were driving for a ride-hailing service and earning $0.15 per mile, then your earnings would exceed the fuel cost, making it profitable.

Moral of the story folks; never accept trashy offers & the system will eventually have to raise the price for the better, they've got no choice but to! 😄😉👍 "Flip it, from trash to CA$H!"

Some of y'all are talking about passenger driving it's not the same.
Also in Miami they are capping and profiling.
As soon as you don't accept ine offer you can expect to wait for another one or be idled for 3 to 4+ hours. What they are doing is predatory. Sort of like oh so you not going? Okay then you get no more offers.

I would be happy with dollar/mile ratio. My area of San Diego gets maybe half of that although it looks like the time spent on those drives in Boston are a lot longer.

It’s very strange how smaller cities offer more surge and per mile more ratio money
I saw him he didn’t take total 5miles ride for 25$ it’s crazy
I don’t even make 25 an hour in NJ

    • @J__7777

Not all miles are created equal. At first I thought the same thing. But then I saw the how many mintues it would take him. 30 to 40 mns for a few miles ain't worth it. You have to look at both miles and minutes and do quick math. No driver should be grossing less than $30/hr preferably above $40/hr but some days isn't doable but it doesn't mean you have to accept crap offers.

They pay better in other markets in tucson low fares are common quests and challenges are usually low last quest 70 rides for $95, no three of three, airport rides not even above $10 for 9.5 miles.

I do this too but you lost me when you accepted that first ride 27-28 minutes. You gotta LOCK IN big surge and then take the shortest in time & mileage rides only. When I’m in big surge, the surge $ is all I care about and the ride (the normal fare part) means little to me. The short ride is just a means to get that big dollar surge amount. That being said, I know the area and it just takes time getting around, especially in the 8 o’clock hour. Good tactic sir.
