I just got/understood it "Gentle Madman... Out of Kindness". Meant to be read as a whole, because both separate parts sound like positive traits; actions out of kindness, and a gentle madman. But a "Gentle Madman out of kindness" has a different ring to it.
Just my thoughts. It especially stood out in the final fight, when Maruki loses it and we can clearly see he will no longer act out of kindness, but he is out of kindness now, fighting with his full power. Also, it fits very well when we clearly see in the final stages that his "will to grant wishes and make everyone happy" is overprotective and in fact - projection of his own inability to move on with his life. He's not doing it out of kindness. He is selfish and wants to fix the entire world because he can't fix himself. It stands out even more when he is a cab driver, showing that because of phantom thieves he moved on and that's what he needed, not trying to fix the entire world. In the end, it's not the world that must be fixed. It was Maruki that had to learn how to let go. In the end, Maruki is my number 1 fav character in the game.
