Persona 2 just tells me that that was when Personas were most like Stands. They could be in the real world and were summoned straight from their bodies with no gimmicks like guns, cards, or masks.
To be fair, it was not in usual circumstances. In Persona 1, we had DEVA system and the SPOILER. In Persona 2, they summoned a persona in a city where rumours are coming true.

I’ll say this, if your intrested, I’d say start with persona 5, it’s an amazing entry point and the story of the previous games has little to no effect on the story of persona 5, the only things consistent from my experience as someone who started with 5, just beat 4 and is starting 3, the only things in every game are general themes, always banger tunes, reoccurring Demons/personas, and Igor/the velvet room, none of that is spoilers btw, that’s stuff you experience in the first hour or 2 of any of the games Best of luck to you if you do spend any time with this series, I fell in love with it almost a year ago now, just take your time with it, and be prepared to be in it for the long haul

Should have switched Chase with Crazy Noisy Bizzare Town, P3P isn't light hearted
I did consider that, but honestly it didn't fit with the opening video as much.
