My fav fish ! Here in Minnesota we are blessed with thousands of smallie lakes. Have had days where I caught over 70 fish !

There’s a lake near me which in the summer has the best smallmouth bass fishing ever. Easy 100 fish days. So fun. Love these guys

One thing i found interesting is where to catch smallmouth is in rivers, dams, and spillways. Pretty good educational video, i would like to see white/hybrid/striped bass video. Also, keep doing you! 👍🎣
Thanks for the feedback. We don't have stripers or hybrids (wipers) here but we do have white bass. That would be a fun species to cover too.
@@FishingwithNatIf you have time and want to catch wipers, me as a mid-western would suggest Iowa, specifically Iowa City and its spillway/dam. Though theres alot of people there, so I would suggest going there pretty early in the morning.

Fished for mostly largemouth until a friend from work introduced me to smallmouth in a creek here in Central PA last year. They are by far my favorite fish to target now for the reason you stated in the very beginning. I'm lucky the Susquehanna is close by too!

For the last two days I've targeted smallmouth and only gotten a few really small ones using 3 inch paddle tails and jerk baits
Both of those baits are good for smallies. You might need to try a different habitat. Try going deeper or near major structure (laydowns, rock bars, stumps...)

I’ve heard curly tail grubs in 3 or 4 inch sizes catch numbers and size of smallmouth
Curlytail grubs will catch almost anything. Some with a jig and swimbait.

Pickerels are hard to find around here for me to film or catch, but I'd love to.
Hey, Nat. I fish for trout, panfish, and bass. I use spinners like rooster tails and panther martins and soft plastics with jigheads.
What would be the most all-around rod choice in both power and action to fit all of that pretty well?

Bama what lures would you use for a canal thats less deep than 10 feet and the fish hang around the inlet specifically targeting large and smallmouth bass
I'd try a jig and swimbait or an inline spinner like a large Rooster Tail

Snakeheads don't occur around here so I'm not able to get underwater footage of them or fish for them. Maybe I'll travel to catch them one day.
