Ugh my band teacher chose this as our opening piece in junior band and I play trumpet and i was like.... excuse me wut. But now it's one of my favourite pieces. Took so much work to get down but Def worth it
Woah, this brings me back. My school used to make us play this every year. I played bells in this song. Haven't played since I graduated 13 years ago. Very nostalgic!
Kind of. I’m playing it for a seventh grade concert and the only hard part about it is the fact that it has so many friggin’ accidentals. (Alto Saxophonist). If you play the same one as we do, for saxophone and clarinet the hardest part is at measure 37+101. It’s fast and there are a butt ton of accidentals and the key signature. It’s a fun piece though. The concert is actually pretty soon, December 17th, 2019. Oh wow I didn’t realize how old your comment was 🤦🏻♀️. You didn’t write it recently so there was absolutely no point to this, you’ve already moved on. I should read before typing.
Person who arranged this song: and there we go Random person: beatiful so where do they breath Person who arranged this song: there's no such thing in band Random person: ummm ok (walks away slowly Oh yeah breathing at bar lines means death in band
@@paulk.221 I find the song fairly easy to play (1st Clarinet) for the most part but I still find it a nightmare for the entire high woodwind section at some points.
Actually sitting farther back can cut off air supply. You need to sit away from the back of the chair and keep your back straight to get as much air as possible.
All the comments about breathing make me wonder if they don't teach staggered breathing in bands anymore. If you can't do circular breathing, that's the next best thing. Just breathe where everyone else in your section doesn't.
Band students: can we breathe?
This song: Haha that's illegal
for real🤣
More like afterburn
Except the drums
@@trombonevr percussion* there’s more then drums
Real😭
You literally get no chance to breathe anywhere in this piece
Most people have different parts so the abundance of instruments makes it so you have more rests
That Oboe I would probably almost die as a flute
Psh. That's why percussion is superior :3
What is this piece called?

Lol I play clarinet and this piece was also chosen for our opening piece in junior band. I was annoyed then but it’s also one of my favorites now 😉
@@tanyaboston6365 I play the clarinet too! I’m learning this piece 💪
I play trumpet to but our part is really easy it’s just 4 notes the whole time

I remember playing this when I was in 8th grade but played in the High School Concert Band because I was in Marching Band.

I’ve played this and it’s really hard on the French horn.
It is very hard
On clarinet I found it very easy, but yeah for other Christmas songs we feel the same struggle.

@@thank.you.rupert hey do you know the song of this arrangement
Playing it for Christmas concert this year, i dont find it to be very hard at all except for like 4 measures abt half way through. 2nd part horn btw
i still remember how to play the clarinet part from 7th grade
Playing in 7th

7th grade has 2nd clarinet and the 8th graders get 1st clarinet

My band only played this song once at a competition and I somehow accurately played the French Horn solo perfectly. Both of them 😅

@@isabellageiser5120 That's the opposite answer to her question.
@@isabellageiser5120 that's not what they're asking but okay.
There are special chairs made so you have to sit back for correct posture. My band uses them
@@zenpinfloops2813 even with those chairs it's still better to sit close to the front.
This is beautiful 🤩
Okay this is a masterpiece are they professional?
I played this in my sixth grade band

For some reason last year I wanted to play this, I guess I just liked the beat

As a trumpet player with the lead part of the song you almost pass out during this song. Especially if it’s a simpler version than this
I wish I could play this lol
i have the piece for Bb clarinet🤭🤭
I’m playing this year in 8th grade Christmas concert I play the clarinet
I wanted my band to play this but we didn’t
That song is hard
We play this in 7th grade
i played this for my 8th grade band but there’s way less drum than i expected- i played a lot more snare than i hear in this video
