2003- 2011 was the best era for Tennis. fast-paced with players leaning more on shot making and playing the angles than nowadays boring spin rallies from way behind the baseline
The 2000s were slower paced than the 2010s and the 2020s in terms of speed and power of the shots. Besides, not as many players as you want us to think play "way behind the baseline".
Young Nadal was a machine. You can see that Blake game is better for this surface. He has better serve, hits the ball flatter and deeper. But Nadal just beats him on willpower. Unbelieveable mentality.
Always liked watching Blake play, always 120% effort, hitting full force, he had bad luck having to play against 2 greatest players in tennis history... in their prime
This was a great match-up..the speed and firepower of both made for great rallies and shot making. Rafa tenacity and competitiveness is just monstrous..
Back then, Blake couldn't stand losing to Nadal. Maybe he thought he was better than the Spaniard because he hit the ball harder. But Nadal showed him that the one who hits harder, he doesn't have to win more games, as was shown in his H2H. Until the handshake at the end of the game he showed apathy on the part of the American.
@@thedanman6332 they all had great and even amazing other years. But for me these three years are their greatest. You can also say nadal 2010 and 2013, federer 2005, 2006, 2007 and djokovic 2015/16, 2021.

That era was boring too because the serve and volleyers were gone. Go back to the 90's for great tennis.
Lmao you love the lower level of tennis? Shame what a cuckhold mentality

Blake no era competitivo?
Claro que si.
What a fast paced match wow
Nadal was blazing fast back then geezus. Blake threw everything at him.
good old days
Blake always gave trouble to Nadal.
Until Nadal figured him out.
By the French Open that year, Rafa's serve motion changed. He no longer used his knees to kick the serve.
Unfortunately, the James Blake train never arrived at its destination.
Why? He was so competent 😢
epic match

2008 nadal was the best version. 2011 Djokovic. 2004 federer. These were the three best years ever.
2006 Federer? What about 2015 Djokovic?

I would also consider 2017 for both Fedal
2010 Nadal is at absolute strongest. As well as 2011 Djokovic and 2006 Federer
2009 and 2010 at his HC best on par with 2013
Ole Rafael Nadal KNOWS how to “ cast the same n yo teeth”. PWG
